Slash came but it was immediately blocked, following that a counter slice was delivered. Everything was smooth. But still, the slice didn't land on flesh, it sliced through the air instead. Another counter was thrown by the one who slashed.
Sho was awestruck.
Compared to Sho's fight earlier, his fight looks like a child's fight. However, Alpha's fight was the real deal. Everything seems calculated, no one was making any mistakes, no one could afford any mistakes. Looking at the sideline, he knew both were incredibly strong. And if he was to replace one of the two, as he was now, he would surely lose in a second.
Sho was not a match at all.
He felt like an ant compared to the two. He thought he would be just jealous, but seeing them, aside from being jealous he was also inspired. He saw what they are capable of. And he felt that if they can do it, he should be able to do that too.
He observed the two very closely. Even if it was hard for him to keep up, because the speed of Alpha and his enemy was too fast, he still tried his best to gain knowledge.
Sho felt that it was a rare sight to watch an elite match.
Just watching them was very beneficial to him.
He noticed how the other party was more well versed in the knife than Alpha. The enemy was just using a chef knife–the one that was longer and sharper so that it could butcher meat. Yet, Alpha didn't seem to be too much of a disadvantage. Even if the enemy was very good at knife, Alpha was good at dodging, baiting and countering. He was exuding a sense that everything was in his control. Even his mistakes seem to be just bait for his enemy.
The two seemed to have been fighting for a long time, but still no winner seems to emerge soon.
It was amazing how Alpha used his experience to judge what the other party would do. After a fast skill slash, Alpha was able to minimize the damage and also give out a counter slash. He was clearly aiming for a vital point. But the enemy was no weaker than Alpha, he moved his body sideways to avoid the vital damage.
The slash only managed to incur him a tiny wound.
*Is this what a fight would look like if two people who are on the same level fight? No. This is a fight between two elites on the same level!*
"I never knew humans can be like this." Alpha's enemy grinned while he said that. Somehow, Sho felt a familiarity with him. He felt the man was very similar to Es'Ever, still they weren't the same person. This confused Sho.
"So… you're…"
"Savior Gang's leader. Ros'Lous."
"Now, I understand."
The conversation with the two was very simple. They didn't even bother to stop fighting as they talked. They were treating the fight as if they were just walking in the park. It was really unbelievable.
Ros'Lous grinned before dashing backwards. He weaved left and right, his pattern was incredibly different than before.
"Way of assassin…" Alpha uttered in a serious voice.
He slouched forward in a defense position. It was a weird defensive ability. But in the next second, Sho understood why.
Ros'Lous danced on the battlefield. He was so flexible that when he missed a slice he wanted to deliver on Alpha, he would casually throw his knife from his right hand to his left hand. He even sometimes uses his feet when trying to slash the knife. He was like a circus master that has been combined with a knife master. It was amazing and scary to look at.
Alpha on the other hand was able to contend because of his slouch position. He was flexible in dodging. In spite of that, he looked lazy doing so, everything was still calculated. Everything was done with braveness as he kept on dodging and assaulting at the same time. His buff skill was also working wonders to make him almost equal to the man.
Sho was filled with reverence for the two as it was painted on his face. But soon, he realized something. Alpha was slowly being suppressed. The wounds he got were getting worse and worse, on the other hand, the wounds he inflicted on Ros'Lous were still the same. It was slowly becoming clear who would emerge winner soon.
*Not good!*
If Alpha loses, no one could contend with this monster. Even Sho himself knew he was far from match. Even if he thought of Miya or Ross, he knew they wouldn't be a match either. It would be just a long death match. They would just be struggling to survive with zero chance of hope.
For the first time since he arrived in this world, he had a real and very strong desire to save people he grew attached to in this unknown world.
He knew he didn't belong there, that's why he really didn't feel any sense of belongingness. He was just acting for the original Sho so he could move forward. So that he could get his memories back.
He just wanted to know what happened to his world. Does he still have family there? Is it possible for him to go back? Was his home still there?
He had no attachment in this world. Or so he thought. After spending some time with Alpha and Miya, he realized he grew attached to them. He thought of them as his friends. He didn't want to see them die.
It was not just acting out his part as someone who took over the original Sho's body.
It was his true desire.
