Chereads / LUCKY AND HERO: God of System / Chapter 30 - Massacre

Chapter 30 - Massacre

After the scream for help, countless voices echoed in the camp.

They were all panicking.

Some were screaming in pain, some screaming for help others shouting for their companion and there were also those who were crying in fear.

Miya's face paled.

She immediately rushed out of the camp and followed the voices. Although talented and called a genius, she had not been a leader before. She immediately forgot how to command the guards of their camp.

She was used to doing things alone.

As she ran forward, the screams grew louder and she also heard the evilest laughter one could produce.

"Stop!" she immediately tried to gather their attention.

A man with red eyes evilly looked at her. She unconsciously stepped back. His presence was threatening. It was not like the wolf king. But she still sensed the danger in the man before her.

"You want me to stop? You're cute."

As his laughter echoed in the camp, Miya's face dimmed.

Sho and Alpha heard the distant screams and some maniacally laughter. There was a slashing and smashing sound from the distance towards their camp.

"Support me. I'll draw their attention."

Before Sho could even say something, Alpha dashed out towards their camp. His speed was noteworthy.

He wanted to catch up with him, but knew better otherwise. If he did his best and expanded his energy just to catch up with Alpha, he wouldn't be of any help to the people of the camp. He would be nothing but a liability once more.

*Patience. I know my limit. I have to take this one step at a time. I need to use my strengths and weaknesses well.* Sho convinced himself with Alpha's word of advice. He kept repeating it in his mind to calm himself.

He was honestly too nervous with the sound of scream and clashing still in the air. He could already imagine the horror happening inside the camp.

Minutes passed by and Sho finally arrived at the camp. What he saw felt like hell. Bodies were on the ground. There was blood and fire everywhere. Some bodies were cut into pieces, others were burned, some had their guts gushing outside their bodies, others were lucky that they looked like they just died without feeling anything.

Seeing those bodies, he remembered how he interacted with most of them as he was trying to get a summary report for Alpha. Men, women, elderly, pregnant and even children were lying dead on the ground.

His eyes just passed through the scene but being keen to details, he immediately remembered how a child finger was near a brown eyeball and on the side, there was a torso which didn't have any head, lower body or arms.

There were many more gory details that he didn't even want to think about.

Sho felt sick the moment he stepped inside the camp.

There was a feeling of something dark arising in his mind. It was sinisterly trying to push forward.

The life saving screens that helped original Sho calm down entered his mind. It took him only three seconds to finally clear his mind from the heart wrenching scene before him. He focused his attention on the battle in the distance.

According to Alpha's deduction from their traces and his investigation, there should be six people from the elite of the Savior Gang.

Alpha and some guards were holding to one, Miya and some other guards were holding to another one, three were being held by the rest of the present guards. Seeing that one was missing, his face dimmed. He knew that most of the bodies there weren't the total of their camp. Some managed to get away. And one of the Savior Gang's members is in pursuit of them.

Before he could even think, his feet were already moving on their own. His path was towards the south. He was feeling a foreboding. It felt like if he didn't go after the missing one of the Savior Gang, something bad would happen. He wasn't sure what it would be, but he chose to trust his instinct.

Alpha glanced at him and nodded.

Seeing his approval, Sho was more confident with his choice. He ran through the forest outside their camp. It wasn't long before he heard cries, screams and shouts.

Sho felt his stomach tighten, it felt like the worst scenario was coming in his face even when he hadn't seen the group. When he finally saw the group, he felt a heavy pang in his heart.

He didn't know how many they were, but there were a lot of littered bodies along the way. He knew that almost two hundred bodies could be counted dead and he could see only one hundred alive.

Bodies were everywhere, they were thrown in different places with every piece of them cut off. It felt like a view from a slaughterhouse. He felt sick, but his passive skill quickly overtook.

He continued running to the group because he was still far from them but could already see and hear them.

"P-please… spare me…"

"P-please, don't kill me."

"I don't wanna die!"

"Save me!"

"I'll be your slave, don't kill me!"

Everyone was desperate. And no one could blame them. They surely saw everything that happened there. And anyone would lose their mind from seeing such a massacre.

"Hahaha! Puny humans! You always say the same thing! You are entertaining to kill!" As the man said that, he ran around the group, he had incredibly fast speed, it felt like he was cheating. "Ha! I choose you!" After screaming evilly, he picked an elderly off the group. The next moment was blurry from his speed.

Before Sho could even react, the elderly woman had already been cut off to pieces. Her body parts flowing to the air in different directions.

"Why are you doing this?!" Sho shouted on top of his lungs, trying to get the man's attention.

He knew it was suicide. But seeing the group that didn't have any more guards or even a medic group in them, he knew he had to put himself in if he wanted to save anyone.

"Why? Because it's fun!" The man laughed seeing Sho's desperation. He took off from the group and ran towards Sho. He didn't seem to care even if he knew that Sho was luring him outside the group. Seeing his confidence, Sho knew he felt there was no need to care.

Sho felt he understood what was going on in the man's mind. He sensed he was thinking that he was going to kill everyone so it didn't matter who goes first.

Sho felt a distaste that he somehow understood the murderer.

Seeing the man coming after him, he used the trees to hide from the man.

The man, on the other hand, seeing Sho hiding in the trees became extremely excited. "This is how it should be! Struggle all you want! The end would be the same, though! Hahaha!" he maniacally laughed as he chased after Sho.

Seeing the man chase after him. He was relieved. He wanted to pull the dangerous guy away from their group, hoping their group would be able to go out and meet Ross's group.

But his celebration came short. The man's speed was incredible. The next thing that Sho knew, the man was in front of him. He instinctively backaway, avoiding a slash that could cut off his arm.

From that experience, he didn't hesitate. He used the tree to roll away from the man.

The man laughed gleefully. He seemed to become happier as Sho struggled. His eyes glistened with evil lust.

The two look like dancers in the forest, weaving as they pleased. But they can't make any mistakes, because the cost would be too high. Death would be the price.

Even so, Sho didn't cower in fear. He kept on dodging as the man swung his deadly sharp knife on him.

He knew that in a normal scenario, he should be scared. Afraid of his own life. But in a fight like this. In a fight of life and death. In a fight with someone. He felt freer.

Slowly, he became accustomed to the man's speed. Which was incredible to put into words. The man's speed wasn't normal. It wasn't human in their vocabulary. It was an ungodly speed. But Sho was starting to keep up as he kept on dodging.

Was I a fighter in my past life? He couldn't help but think of it. He also felt that he should be holding on something while he was dodging the man. He also kept eyeing on where he should land a deadly blow in the man's body.

The thought raised every strand of his tiny hairs. He shook his thoughts away, remembering what Alpha said. He shouldn't keep getting distracted with useless thoughts in his battle. Or else, he would die.

And he needed to survive to understand everything. He didn't want to die not understanding anything. He had too many questions, and he didn't even know where to start looking.

Focusing on the man again, he noticed how it became easier for him to dodge him after a while. And he got a theory of how man's power works.

*I have hope of winning…*
