Nathan was the first to arrive at the company, even Quinn who had been the punctual one was stunned to see him seated in the meeting room
"Good morning, boss"Quinn greets, blinking a couple of times to see if her eyes ain't deceiving her.
Nathan has always been the one to make them wait for him for an hour or more whenever a meeting is to be held but it has changed completely.
Knowing who Nathan is, she is sure something good might have happened to him. He wasn't gloomy as compared to other days, his smile was the most beautiful she's seen so far.
"Good morning, Quinn" Nathan responded to her greetings, eyes glued to the door.
He can't wait to see Zara, that's the only reason he came to work as early as he could.
Quinn got her to sit in her respective seat. Not long, David walks in looking all dazzling in his brown suit.
"Someone is more than ready for a new day" David jokes, taking his seat by Nathan.
Nathan didn't respond, he knew more than starting up a conversation with David. He is more of a teaser and he's good at making you split the bean without even realizing it.
"I wish all nights will be like last night, damn! It's so wonderful" David exclaims, feeling happy.
Nathan threw him a warning stare, "we are in the meeting room, personal discussion comes after" he said nonchalantly.
David almost cry out loud, "common, we are too early and the others ain't here, why not we talk a little more?"He complains, pouting his lips like a baby
Nathan rolls his eyes at his childish behaviour, feeling annoyed by him. Just then, Zara walks in, breaking the awkward silence.
"Good morning, Boss Nathan, David, Quinn" she greets making her way to her seat.
Nathan's eyes sparkle upon seeing and hearing her voice, that voice that leaves him breathless and eager to hear more.
He smiles for the first time, "Good morning, Zara" he sounds so pleased with her, eyes never left her.
Zara has always been the elegant one but right now, the way she carries herself is one to die for.
Nathan wasn't the only one drooling over her beauty, style, and sense of fashion. David was totally lost at the sight of the beauty, mouth hung open.
As compared to other days, Zara never misses a day to put on a piece of lavender on her body.
She is dressed in a lavender suit with a black turtle neck inside. Her black African hair falls to the back, giving her a dashing diva look.
"Good morning, Zara. How was your night?"Quinn asked, giving her a sweet smile.
"It's been the most beautiful night so far, thanks. Yours?"Zara returns the question with a smile as she takes her seat.
"Awesome," Quinn said shortly.
Zara nods in response. A few minutes later, Beatrice came alongside a black-haired guy.
The meeting begins, and Zara takes the lead and talks about the project at hand. Gave out what was there and what she thinks might work best for the project.
Everyone present in the room participates, giving out their ideas to make the project a success.
Nathan tips in when necessary, allowing Zara to express herself in the best way ever.
Everyone at the table was happy with what she's got to offer. Indeed, they gave the post to a hand that's more than capable of handling things.
Hearing everyone's response, Zara was pleased knowing they love her new idea. She has been working on it ever since she got the job and set her eyes on the project and she was happy her hard work seems to be paying off.
After the project presentation, Nathan asked Zara to work on and improve on it so their next meeting will be on how to activate their plans.
The meeting did stay as compared to others, everyone greets Zara for a job well done.
Nathan and Quinn walk out of the room followed by Beatrice and the black hair guy.
Zara was busily packing up the papers on the table when David spoke up all of a sudden stunning her, she thought everyone was gone
"Geez! You scare me" Zara breathed out, and continued arranging the papers in the yellow file.
"Sorry, didn't mean to"David walks to her and takes a seat next to her.
"You are awesome!"He praises.
Zara couldn't help but smile," not as compared to you, boss, and Quinn," she said, knowing how good they are at what they do.
"Well, compared to us, no. That's because you are way more than that"David said, She rolls her eyes at his flattering words.
"Believe me when I say you can basically handle a company all by yourself and make it a success" David pressed on.
Zara laughs meekly, "I don't know if you intend to make me happy but if you did, then it's working"she picks up the files and starts making her way out.
David follows her from behind, "I'm being serious here, don't take me for a joke" he complains.
Zara laughs even more, "ok then" she shakes her head, smiling.
On their way to Zara's office, they came across Beatrice
"Anything the matter?"Zara asked, concerned about seeing the look on her face.
"No, not at all," Beatrice said waving her hands, "just trying to figure out why the boss has become this nice and caring," she said thoughtfully
"What do you mean?"Zara asked, wanting to know more."wasn't he caring before?"
Beatrice shakes her head in denial," he's been good, but not up to this extent" she looks conflicted
"I don't understand" Zara complains looking all concern
"Boss just gave everyone a treat for free lunch" Beatrice whispers as if not wanting David to hear." Can you imagine? I thought it was all rumours not until I heard Ma'am Quinn saying it herself"
Zara was surprised to hear her say such but David wasn't.
"A free meal then, I'll get to save some money," David jokes.
Beatrice couldn't help but laugh at his childishness." I never knew sir David is of free things" she jokes
David burst into laughter," well, everyone does, Zara inclusive "
Zara laughs at hearing him mention her name, she quite remembers she was the one happy and excited about a free lunch the other day.
"um, before I forget, Zara, Boss is asking over you" Beatrice informs, " I advise you go meet him right away"
With that, she excused herself and left.
Zara turns to David, "I better get going, see you later" she left as soon as said those words.
"See you later, don't forget it's my treat tomorrow, "he said in his voice.
Zara glances back at him and smiles while waiting for the elevator to get going.
She knocks on the door and with his permission, she walks in." You sent for me boss"
"Yes I did, have a seat" he offers.
Zara quickly git herself seated, waiting on him to say what he wants
"I love your presentation, keep it up" he compliments.
"Thanks, boss" Zara's face grows tomato red from his compliment.
"I see you love Lavender" he spoke out, and she nodded shyly.
"My mom has always been a fan of lavender, so I tend to love it too," she explains.
"that's nice, by the way, I called you here so we can have lunch together if you don't mind" Nathan has never been the one to beat around the bush, so he goes straight to the point
Zara was taken aback by his words but was quick to brush off the stunned look on her face, "sure... I don't mind"
Their gaze met, and lingered on each other's faces for a long time.
" Great! Let's get started" he pushed the bag of lunch to her, opening his.
