Lothaire didn't even want to think of the words she had said. It was as if she had already accepted her fate of dying in the process of the war about to start with the sorcerers but she was more worried about what would happen to him after her death. Larisa could see the denial in his eyes, he would never be ready to accept her dying, not when he was still alive.
"I won't let you die." He said firmly and she could see his eyes filled with promises that he would protect her no matter what.
"I know you won't." She said faintly as she stared deep into his blazing eyes which held dangerously strong emotions.
"But?" He asked, he knew she wanted to say more and he knew exactly what was on her mind.
"But if I die then you'll help them regardless to prevent the sorcerers from winning." She said with a concerned face and Lothaire's jaws ticked and his fists clenched into a tight ball, digging his nails into his palms. The fact that she had accepted reality that she could die, made him furious and the fact that she wanted him to help them was even more annoying because he cared about only her and no one, so helping them even if she died was a fatal 'Never'.
Larisa was worried about the outcome in case she died, because then the sorcerers would win and take over the Empire after weakening Lothaire which meant they would all die and she couldn't bare to see everyone suffer because of her so making Lothaire promise her to help them even after she died was the only thing she could think of, but seeing Lothaire's reaction after telling him, she knew it was far from possible.
"I won't." Came Lothaire's hard and cold response. Her death would only cause him aggravated and eternal heartbreak, so why would he save anyone after she died, why would he care when she was the only thing he actually cared about, so saving them after she died was definitely out of question and a highly impossible thing to do because only Larisa's existence mattered to him so every other person's existence was highly not important. Larisa didn't say anymore and accepted his reply because she knew that no matter how she pleaded, he would never do it if she died so the only way to save everyone was to stay alive because Lothaire saving her meant that he would be saving everyone else.
"Do you guys have a plan?" She asked in curiosity as she diverted the topic. She wanted to know what their plan was, if maybe she had a chance of surviving or not but with Lothaire, her chances of surviving were extremely high especially if he was to go berserk with maddening rage to protect his breed mate.
"Yes but we'll go through the details properly by tomorrow." He replied and she nodded. "I'll be needing Lucifer's assistance so that I can protect you and fight easily. His presence will make it a lot easier to do both." He continued and Larisa's eyes widened in surprise of the new turn of events, she couldn't believe that she was going to meet his Father, the Devil and he was going to help, which sounded outrageous to her.
"What? Isn't he dangerous? Won't he try to bargain with you to stay with him in exchange for protection?" She threw questions at him in a worry, obviously terrified of his Father.
"Maybe, but we don't have any choice since the creatures are extremely strong according to Laverna." He said with creased brows, obviously worried about the dangerous situations ahead of them and it was the first time she had seen him worried which made her even more worried.
"But he's not so trustworthy. What if he tries to do something else?" She asked again with a wary look on her face.
"You think he's going to try to kill you to make me join him?" He asked with a short chuckle which lightened the mood a bit for Larisa.
"Maybe..." She said softly.
"He's smart and he knows killing you will only make it harder for him since I'll be filled with nothingness so instead he'll keep you safe and probably use you as bait." He reasoned and she found his words reliable.
"So have you talked to him yet?" She asked.
"No, but I will." He said as he looked at space. Even though he knew there was a very good chance that she'd survive with the help of Laverna and his Father, Somehow, he couldn't bear to look at her angelic face knowing that a tiny mistake would cost her dear life.
Lothaire stared at the space for minutes and the room was filled with awkward silence.
"We'll see Lycan tonight right?" Larisa said excitedly as she broke the heavy silence in the room.
"Of course." He replied as he glanced at her for a moment and it hurt to see her pretty smiling face which he might never see again because she was a fragile human and a tiny mistake could cost her life. He would have immediately released Hela as soon as possible and make Larisa immortal with her help but she could only be released on a full blood moon which would take place months from then so he had to protect her at all cost till then.
Larisa noticed how he was avoiding her gaze every now and then and she could feel the hurt in his eyes when he looked at her which made her realise it was the reason he was probably avoiding looking at her. Lothaire felt her small hands squeezing his big ones as she moved closer to him and he felt her wrap her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly which made him stiff for a second from her action.
"I promise I'll do everything in my power to not die. I'll stay with you forever." He heard her say with a small voice and for a minute, relief washed over him as if hearing her say she wouldn't die would really mean that she wouldn't. Larisa felt him sigh heavily as he relaxed his body and placed his muscular arm around her hugging her back. She pulled her face backward, hugging him to view his face and then her eyes lowered to his lips and Lothaire could tell what she was thinking. She tilted her head closer to his but Lothaire didn't resist, his resolve was slowly crumbling but he didn't want to resist. She pushed her lips into his slowly as she dug her fingers into his lush thick hair and straddled him. He felt her soft lips push harder on his and she pushed her tongue into his mouth as she entwined it with his, the heat engulfed their bodies as they collided their lips with each other's while Lothaire roamed his hand around her body as he massaged it hard, feeling her soft skin and Lothaire could feel his bulge growing bigger and his body burned with fueling heat from his callous desires to take her whole. Lothaire trailed kisses down her neck behind her ear lobes which he had noticed that she loved and the tingling sensation from his kisses left her in a state of confusion as she moaned. He motioned his hand towards her dress to rip it apart but he stopped and quickly carried her off him which left her confused. His strong emotions he yielded had made his dark desires to become even more dangerous and it would lead to hurting her in the worst possible way and she'd probably see him as a monster which he wouldn't be able to bear to leave with so no matter how hard and irresistibly tempting she was, her safety was his utmost priority.
"What's wrong?" Larisa asked with a small voice wondering why Lothaire stopped when she was obviously ready to offer herself to him.
"I told you before that I won't be able to control my demons from hurting you, yet you don't listen." He said with a firm voice as his resolve to resist her started building up.
"You're scared you might hurt me but I know you won't." She said with sad huge eyes as she stared at him in the most loving way anyone could ever had.
"You watch too many romance movies." He said lightly and she rolled her eyes in frustration.
"I don't even like romance movies." She said wryly and Lothaire smirked sarcastically.
"But you read romance novels. How ironic." He teased at her and she was glad that he no longer had that pained look in his eyes.
"There's a difference." She said as she smiled at him. He could never get tired of watching her smile everyday for an eternity and he would do everything and anything to watch her smile for an eternity and he would protect her no matter what the consequences were.
Lothaire knew that being with Larisa came with consequences but he didn't know just how dangerous they were.
In the deep forests where the corpses of the strange creatures laid, the dissected parts of their bodies started moving back together and they became whole, their blood red eyes shot open and they snarled as they rose up from the dead.
