The creatures had spiky backs and their fangs and claws were larger than a vampire's with blood red eyes as they snarled loudly at them, ready to attack as they surrounded them. Lothaire's eyes suddenly turned into a reddish golden hue, his canines elongated as well as his fangs as he transformed into his demon form with pure darkness emanating from his body that made the air more shilling than it was as he could think of nothing more than saving his mate at all means.
The creatures didn't need an order before they charged hard at Lothaire but it seemed like their main focus was Larisa since they tried to attack her but Lothaire on seeing their motives, wouldn't give them the slightest chance. They tried to attack him at once in order to easily get rid of their main target but He moved like the wind in inhumane speed as he clawed viciously at the creatures, ripping their heads apart from their neck within a second making their blood run down like a waterfall in the garden, they tried to attack him in groups as they kept appearing out of thin air but their strengths and speed were nothing compared to his as he effortlessly took them out with deadly strikes while Larisa watched Lothaire and Lycan fighting with fear and awe at the sane time as they poured their wraths upon the strange creatures. Lothaire's fury had overwhelmed him as he furiously ripped them into pieces, heaping the floor with bloody pieces of the creatures and bathing the ground with their blood in seconds. Lycan growled ferociously with dark golden eyes as he clawed through the strange creatures, leaving them dead with one strike, he suddenly turned into a creature of darkness with flames of hell burning in it's golden eyes as it continued to unleash it's deadliness on them and more of the creatures attacked the deadly beast as they were striking it with their claws but it's scale was too hard and their strikes were useless on it and it only made Lycan furious as it stomped heavily on the creatures, turning them into a bloody mush and it let out a deep growl as it spit out hellish flames from the pit of it's stomach towards the creatures, turning them into nothing bust ash.
Lothaire's clothes were soaked with blood and his lush hair was turned into a mess as he continued to lay destruction on the creatures nonstop with not a hint of tiredness in his eyes, he would have been having immense fun ripping the creatures apart but Larisa's safety drove him completely berserk with rage and defensive instinct to protect his breed mate.
Larisa watched Lothaire with darkness clouding him fully as he killed the creatures, she could barely see him except for the dark spine chilling wind that whipped across the creatures and they would end up dead with their limbs or heads ripped apart within a second, the goriness of the fight and all the blood made Larisa's stomach churn. She could hear their snarls and the tearing of flesh and she could see how the beautiful carpet grass floor was now covered in a stream of blood, the stench of death and darkness filled the air strongly as Lothaire gave them a taste of his dark side. He was barely recognizable as the warm Lothaire she was used to, his evil presence was even more darker and deadlier than his Father's as he killed the creatures endlessly, making the hair on her skin stand. Larisa was watching the display of inhumane strengths from the two supernatural creatures when a blood red eyed, spiky creature lunged at her with claws ready to rip her throat off and her eyes widened in great shock but before a scream could escape her lips, two strong arms ripped the creature apart, dividing it neatly with his strong arms and her eyes met Lothaire's reddish gold eyes for a second which looked like the depths of hell itself and she shuddered slightly in fear as she stared at his frightening devilish eyes. Lothaire noticed the scared look she gave him but he didn't let it bother him because her safety mattered to him more than anything and he left her sight and continued killing the creatures, making sure none of them took an inch close to his breed mate. After what seemed like forever, the creatures stopped appearing out of thin air but that didn't make Lothaire lower his guard down as he prepared for their return again but minutes passed by and nothing happened. He averted his gaze to the frail, shock stricken girl who was standing between him and Lycan with shaking legs as she stared at him and Lothaire's jaws ticked, but he couldn't lose his rational way of thinking especially after what Laverna said about the creatures coming back to life.
"It's okay if you're scared of me but I have to take care of the bodies, since they might come back to life." Lothaire said with a stoic expression and his aura became less threatening and dark as he talked to her. Larisa felt worse than before because she was scared of him while he protected her and he knew just how scared she was. She parted her mouth for words to come out but she just pressed it shut in guilt.
Lothaire's reddish golden gaze fell on the bloody bodies scattered on the ground and his eyes burned hellishly, within a second, the bodies of the creatures were filled with red acidic sparks burning into their flesh and within a second, they turned into a pile of red ash which made Larisa's eyes widened in awe, she never knew that Lothaire had supernatural powers or demonic powers as they would call it.
Lycan growled lowly as the bodies turned to a pile of ash and Larisa jerked in shock.
"Let's go back now." Lothaire said as his pair of black wings sprouted out of his back.
Lothaire watched Larisa sleep peacefully after the shocking and tiring incident for a moment and then cleaned himself up before leaving to the meeting hall. Lothaire was seething in undeniable anger as he awaited the royals and the Emperials. Darius, Valerie and the Emperials were present wondering why Lothaire summoned them.
"One of you traitors had the guts to try to kill Larisa! but sorry to inform you, your plan failed horribly!" Lothaire said with a low growl and eyes burning with rage as he gave out a devilish smile. They all exchanged glances in shock, who would have thought that one of them would act that reckless and try to kill Larisa even after the display of Gazelle's horrific death.
"But that's impossible, no one would dare to hurt her." Adina said with a disbelieving look on her face. On her words, Lothaire gave out a dark chuckle.
"All I have to say is that the traitor should enjoy their last night alive because tomorrow, I'll make sure Larisa watches you die in the most spectacular way." Lothaire said and got up to leave, leaving everyone stunned at the new development. Lothaire halted in his steps without turning around which only made his aura darker.
"Don't try to run because I'll find you and just make it worse." Lothaire continued before walking out on them leaving them all confused on who the real traitor was as everyone denied fervently but Avian didn't need a confession to know who it was.
A lady's faint sob was heard in her dark room as she sat on the floor. Her life was over if Lothaire really had caught her, there was nowhere she could run to or hide because he would still find her within a short period of time and that would only make her punishment worse but what could be possibly worse than death? She had only tried to kill Larisa in exchange for protection enabling the sorcerers to take over the empire because she cared for nothing more than the man that she had always wanted to spend her life with and she thought that killing Larisa was the opportunity she needed. The sorcerers had made it impossible for Lothaire to find out but she wasn't surprised that he knew because he could sense malicious intent without any evidence and her confession would prove him right so all she had to do was refrain from confessing but she knew that whether she confessed or not, he would kill her anyway.
