The creatures attacked the trio with inhumane speed but Avian wasn't in anyway worried about himself, he was worried about Onyx because she was only a pure bred vampire and the creatures looked stronger than vampires. His eyes turned blood red and his claws elongated as he grabbed the lean but unimaginably strong arms of the creatures and twisted it before swinging it to a far distance, making it collide with a tree which shattered in wood chunks. Onyx was prepared to take out the other creature that had trudged forward at her in inhumane speed but was immediately caught by Avian's strong arms and was about to tear the creature's head off but it dodged him quickly and slashed his abdomen with it's extremely sharp claws but Avian didn't wince in pain nor did he stagger as he bled from the wound. The creature tried to strike him again but he dodged it as he bent backwards flexibly and with inhumane speed, he viciously tore it's arm apart and the creature growled in pain. It attacked him with the other arm in great speed but Avian was quick enough to dodge the attack and in the process, he clawed out it's chest severely before Avian took off it's head with a single strike of his claw across it's neck with blood spurting out of it before it dropped dead with a heavy thud on the floor.
Laverna stood still with a smirk on her face as the creature came forward to attack her but a glowing red sword manifested in her hand and with a single strike, the creature dropped dead with it's body neatly divided into two. The first creature Avian had attacked slowly got up from where it was being flung by Avian with wood chunks sticking out of it's body. Avian was ready to attack until he saw a bright red blade out of nowhere flying across the creature's neck and slicing it off in the process with great speed, separating the head from the body in the blink of an eye.
"Are you okay?" Onyx asked as she rushed to Avian who was healing slowly from the deep wounds caused by the creatures.
"How do we clean up this mess? The humans can't see this." Avian said to Laverna as he gestured to the bloody image of the dead creatures scattered on the floor ignoring Onyx.
"Don't worry about that, the Minotaurs will take care of that." She said and they all continued their journey. Onyx was unbelievably happy that Avian had protected her from the creatures without anyine forcing him to which was a huge hope for her. Avian sacrificing his life to protect her made a big impact on her and she had never been happier because it meant that he indeed really cared and there was nothing he could say or do to make her think differently no mattee how cold he acted to her. Meanwhile Avian on the other hand didn't regret his actions but it bothered him a bit because knowing Onyx, she wouldn't give up hope on him after what he did which made it visibly clear that he cared about her even though he didn't say it.
.........
"What do you want to do today?" Lothaire asked Larisa after she was done with her meal.
"I don't know..." She said unsure of what she wanted to do.
"They're a lot of nice places here. We can take you on a tour instead." Felix said calmly as they walked through the corridors. Lothaire stopped abruptly when he heard him talking. Damn! He was just unbearably annoying and there was only a thin rope holding his sanity to remove Felix's head off but he couldn't do that in from of Larisa even though he badly wanted to.
"What are you doing here Felix?" His name coming out of Lothaire's mouth sounded like a venomous word.
"It's fine. You both should have a great couples day out together, I won't bother you." He said with a small smile on his face. Larisa wanted Felix to come too but she really wanted to spend time with Lothaire alone but since Felix insisted on not going to give them space and time together, she couldn't refuse. Lothaire on the other hand would have never let him tarry along so he really didn't care if he insisted on staying.
"Where's the first stop?" Larisa asked excitedly.
"D Tower." He replied and she was excited about the tower but Felix's face was grim.
"Isn't that a bit risky for her? I mean she's human." Felix said with a worried expression.
"The only thing you should do while you're here is shutting the fuck up." Lothaire said in a calm but aggressive tone.
"If it's risky, we don't have to go." Larisa said and Lothaire couldn't get mad even if he wanted to.
"I'm here so you'll be all right. Trust me." He said and a small smile appeared on her face. To her, he was right. He was right there with her so she doubted anything could possibly go wrong. Lothaire and Larisa went to the garage to pick a car for the tour and Larisa's mouth parted at the luxurious cars in the car garage that she had never laid eyes on before.
"Pick one." Lothaire said and she got confused on which to choose.
"Uhmm that one." She said unsure of herself. There was too much for her to choose from so she just picked randomly. They both got in the Rolls Royce she had picked and drove off.
They reached the D Tower and Larisa's eyes almost popped out of her socket. It was indeed a magnificent Tower which was made of glass and it did seem unbelievable but it was unbelievably beautiful. Immediately Lothaire came out of the car, the passers by shuddered from the darkness emanating from him and the intimidating golden eyes of his which froze whoever laid eyes on them. The women swooned at the unearthly beauty they saw as they blushed uncontrollably despite his dark aura which made Larisa feel uncomfortable.
"Let's go." Lothaire said with a smile to Larisa as he took her hands in his, making the women twist their faces with jealousy as he completely ignored them. They both got into the glass elevator and Lothaire pressed the 200th floor button. The elevator went up and Larisa's heart jumped to her mouth because she could see the ground below them and she couldn't stop thinking that the glass would break in a minute. She became even more nervous when the people on the ground slowly disappeared from her sight and she shuddered slightly. Lothaire saw how scared she was and he stifled a laugh.
"You don't have to be scared love, it won't break." He assured her as he gently caressed her palm and she felt relieved and less afraid after hearing his voice. They reached the 200th floor which felt like forever and came out of the elevator and she immediately felt the wind blow past her hair and body.
"Wow." She exclaimed softly as she stared at the bright beautiful sky with the sun speaking from it. The view from the tower was fascinating. The bright golden sun reminded her of Lothaire's bright golden eyes and a smile crept to her lips at the beautiful sight.
"I knew you'd like it." He said as he looked at her face.
"I love it. It's like something from a romance novel." She said as she looked back at him.
"Then it'll be our romance novel." He said and she chuckled softly then she went closer to the rails and looked down. Her head spun as she looked at the great height that they were away from the ground.
"It's so far up." She mumbled to herself as she moved back away from the rails.
"I'll catch you if you fall." He said to her as if he was expecting her to fall.
"If you catch me, won't they see you?" She asked, worried that if she fell they would find out about him.
"No, we're too far off from the ground." He replied and she nodded in relief.
"Is this one of your favourite places here?" She asked seeing how calm and peaceful he was after entering the tower.
"With you here." He replied and she could feel her cheeks burn as she blushed.
"If it's our romance novel, isn't this the perfect place for a kissing scene?" Larisa said and Lothaire was a bit surprised by her confidence.
