It was time for breakfast, and Sasha made her way to the dining hall to see Jennifer and a familiar lady with an unkind face, Veronica Shore.
"With whom you came here?"
At this moment, Ryan entered the dining hall. He wore a set of black sportswear that revealed his smooth and elegant figure, accentuating his tall and firm body, making it look even more perfect than it already was. He had an air of masculinity around him that was unique to men. Though his hair was slightly damp, he looked energetic.
Veronica gleefully replied, "With Kelvin. How can you guys enjoy without me?". Jealousy surged in her heart when she saw Sasha. "You are here too," Veronica said while looking at Sasha with displeasure.
"Miss Veronica. I am here too" Mathew tried to lighten the mood.
"Let's go inside, all of you must be hungry." James' voice interrupted them. Everyone has started arriving and surrounding the dining.
Sasha stood in awkwardness with a smile plastered onto her face. She didn't expect Jennifer's cousins to be present. It was probably her illusion, but she felt that Jennifer's biological brother, Kelvin had been sizing her up without anyone else noticing.
Sasha naturally wanted to take the seat next to Jennifer, but the seat next to it belonged to Veronica, who immediately stood up and gave up her seat to Sasha, saying, "Sasha, hurry up and take a seat".
Sasha doesn't feel like having breakfast with them. But now that she was already in the hall, she could only put on a bold front. "Thank you." She took the seat that Veronica gave up and soon saw James sitting next to her.
Sasha had her eyes on a particularly savoury dish. However, it was not long before the dish was whisked away from her sight. Dejected, she put down her utensils and sipped on her drink.
James seemed to have caught onto her disappointed look and passed the dish back to her. Her eyes lit up at the dish and hurriedly picked on the food.
"Thank you" Sasha smiled.
Veronica quickly shot a glance at Sasha. "So, What do you think of James?".
"Huh?" Sasha with an innocent expression lifted her head.
"Oh, cut the crap! Sasha. Don't pretend like you have no idea that the guy is crushing hard on you. I think you should give it a try if you're feeling something for him too!"
A surge of annoyance bubbled within Sasha but she quickly suppress it.
"WoW!, James, You have a crush!" Lucas let out long-awaited giggles.
"Shut up!" James snapped.
Veronica gleefully turned toward Sasha's gloomy look. A meaningful smile appeared on her face. "James, it looks like there's still a long way to go to win Ms Jones's heart."
"Give it a rest! Veronica" His eyes raked over her, sharp.
-------
"Ms Lee! Please bring me the soup," Kelvin called to one of the butlers.
"Kelvin! just let me take it," Veronica who immediately stood up said.
The others continued eating in silence while Sasha had been uptight throughout the whole exchange.
Jennifer glanced at her friend who was looking down. She was seen staring at the dishes in front of her. There was a feeling of guilt in her heart when Sasha shifted her body uncomfortably.
Veronica came from the kitchen carrying a bowl of soup which was still hot and walked towards Sasha. Until Veronica purposely spilt the soup on Sasha's thigh. The bowl slipped at Sasha's feet until it finally fell on the floor.
"Awww!" Sasha immediately stood up so that the soup water dripped onto the floor.
"Are you okay?." Jennifer and James stood at the same time. On the other hand, Ryan remained stiff but a panicked expression flashed on his face.
James hurriedly took the tissue from the table. "Does it hurt?." James asked helping Sasha to clean up using the tissue.
"I'm fine," Sasha said. Luckily she didn't feel burning as she was wearing jeans.
"I am sorry. I didn't mean it" Veronica put on an exaggerated apologetic expression.
"Veronica, why aren't you care?" Jennifer asked while looking at Veronica with a sharp gaze.
Veronica shifted her gaze toward Sasha as she said, "Sasha, Why don't I buy you new jeans?".
Sasha remained calm as she murmured, "No need".
"Don't be angry. Tell me! Chanel, Zara...Sorry! I forget. You didn't wear those." Veronica said as her red lips curled into an apologetic smile.
Sasha's face fell when she heard Veronica's words. Jennifer's expression turned sour as she glared at Veronica. "Veronica...."
"Thank you Veronica" Sasha smiled, but it was a cold smile that did not reach her eyes. "But I can wash this and wear it again. Sorry! I need to go upstairs" Sasha asserted.
Seeing the girl disappearing hurriedly James immediately glanced furiously at Veronica. "What's your deal?".
"Why are you so overreacting?" Veronica retorted. "Hold on! Are you serious about her?" The woman's eyes turned frostier.
