As Sasha browsed through the menu, she noticed that even a cup of water cost more than ten, not to mention the main dishes. She held on to the menu and had no idea what to order at all. She was screaming silently in her heart, "Gosh! This is so expensive."
Sasha closed the menu and passed it to Ryan. "I am fine with anything."
As they waited for their order, their table is farther away from the other customers, Sasha marvelling at the scene before her, leaning on the railings in front of her as the night breeze blew.
Ryan's lips curled into a smile; his eyes fixating on Sasha.
Ryan picked up a glass of water and took a sip. "Earlier...Her name is Alice. She was just my friend's sister. She is like a sister to me."
"Umm...." Sasha flatly nodded her head. She couldn't quite grasp the meaning of his explanation.
The waiter serves the dish at that moment. Before Sasha could even put her fork and knife on her beef, Ryan smoothly got her plate and started slicing for her.
"Thank you... " Sasha lowered her head to eat. Cough, cough...
Sasha hurriedly grabbed a glass of water and washed it down her throat. She lifted her head and locked eyes with Ryan's obsidian, deep-set gaze.
"Director Shore...Is there something on my face?"
Something gleamed across his gaze as he questioned, "No. Why are you asking?".
Under his scrutinizing gaze, she shifted in unease. Her lips twitched and managed a thin smile. "Because you keep staring at me when I'm eating."
Ryan swirled the wine in his glass and gazed at Sasha. "Why can't I look at you?." He then stuffed his face with food.
Sasha has a bewildered expression. She raised a quizzical brow and asked in doubt. "Uh...I am so shocked when I saw you. How come....?"
"What if I say that it's not a coincidence?." Ryan stared at her beautiful and delicate face.
Seeing as how silent she is, cocked his head to the side, "I was joking, Sasha Jones."
Sasha tranced out from her unnecessary assumptions. Her expression relaxed, and she pushed a weak smile.
A waiter walked towards their table with a point-of-sale terminal and said, "Sir, your total bill would be two hundred and twenty thousand."
"Let me get it! let this be my treat." Sasha reaches for her credit card. But in the end, it was Ryan who foot the bill and Sasha followed him into his car after they left the restaurant.
"Why don't you let me pay?" Sasha's eyes narrowed as he met Ryan's gaze with a half-smirk on his face. Although the bill is expensive she wants to treat Ryan to show her gratitude.

Sean slammed the plate on the table and said in a lazy tone, "The spaghetti you ordered has arrived."
"What's the tantrum?." James gave Sean a side-eye before looking at Patrick and scoffed, "So, she turned him down?."
Patrick open his mouth and was about to say something, but he ended up swallowing his words upon meeting with Sean's indifferent gaze.
Sean sat down on the couch with his slender legs crossed. "She is the one who asks me to visit a gallery with her. And... This is so unbelievable! Did she take me as a fool?"
James squeezed out a smile. "Did you mention Russian Pig to her?."
"Shut up!." Sean huffed in exasperation. "I am super nice to her." Sean's expression looked as if someone had slapped him across the face.
Meanwhile, Anna shot a murderous look at Daina.
"Sorry. I thought you are interested in him." Diana merely grabbed the hem of her clothes tightly with her fingers.
"I only told you that he is not bad," Anna grumbled.
Daina paused in her movement and lifted her head. "Why don't you give a try with him?."
Anna took a deep breath and said, "Because I have to head back to university in three days."
"What's wrong with Professor Ketty? Why she suddenly wants you to organize a seminar?" Daina said in a fed-up tone.
Anna's phone rang at that moment. Her eyes welled up in tears as soon as she pick up the phone.
After arriving at the hospital with Daina, Anna staggered as she dashed towards a ward.
Anna caught a glimpse of the hospital bed behind the nurse. The patient lying in that bed had been covered by a sheet of white cloth from head to toe.
"D-Dad?" With a stiff gait, she limped toward the hospital bed and raised her quivering hand. Her blood ran cold, and her whole body froze.
She struggled hard to spit the words out as she called out to her father.
Lifting the white cloth, she saw her father's cold, pale face. Her knees became feeble, and she kneeled on the spot. Letting out an agonizing scream, she began to cry her lungs out.
