She knew it was going to be a busy day, she hoped she wasn't going be late for work.
She rushed out of her small one-bedroom flat, a place not big enough to comfortably stretch her arms out (An exaggeration of course) but it did have a small cosy living room she had decorated with white and purple wall paper and fairy lights, lots if fairy lights, which was strewn over the Victorian style fire place, the one great feature of the flat, in an artistic manner she though.
She loved the thought of having her own place, somewhere that was hers', especially her two-seater sofa which she had her eye on for months, then saved up for, because for her after a busy day, it was great to just relax and take a breath, with a glass of wine in her hand of course and a great show on T.V.
She loved her even smaller kitchen, the pale blue walls and white cupboards she painted by hand, which makes the place seem bigger than it was, it made her feel proud.
She did it on her own, but the best thing about this place was the big window that over looked the local park, prophesy park, a beautiful place to sit and think when life got too hard and a place to have lunch when the sun finally decided to come out.
She would sit at her window and think about what life would throw at her next and if she would meet the "one" and if she would know it was him, before he had even spoken a word.
At this windowsill she thought about everything and sometimes nothing, sometimes she just drifted away, feeling the warmth of the sun coming through the window on her face and she liked the feeling, so high up, well five floors up, which to her was high, and she would drift away like she did in her dreams.
.....
As she walked to work, she couldn't shake that feeling she had forgotten something, 'what is it.'- she though.
After five minutes of trying to remember, she forced herself to forget about whatever it was for now, 'there's no use going mad about something you can't remember'. she mused to herself, so she put it out of her mind and carried on till she got to the office.
It was a five-minute walk from her flat, but some days she would be late, sometimes ridiculously so and because everyone knew she lived close, it was a running joke and she hated it, so today she made it her mission to be early and finally she made it, on time.
As she tried to open the door she couldn't, she pulled again on the handle but nothing, it wouldn't open. 'Great.' - She thought to herself "I'm actually earlier than Mike."
Her annoying, quite rude and extremely gross department manager. she looked down at her phone and it showed that it was 8:30am, "I'm actually half an hour early!" She exclaimed being pleased with herself, so she decided to get a coffee from the coffee shop around the corner.
As she made her way there, she stopped in her tracks and looked at her phone again, "Shit! it's Saturday!! Crap!" she said out-loud. "That is what I couldn't remember, the Day." As she said this passers-by looked at her with weird and some with amused expressions on their faces, others however just stared at her but she didn't notice them.
As she decided to head home after this embarrassment of a morning, she thought 'I might as well get my coffee and maybe some breakfast since I'm out.' So, she walked the few steps it takes to get to the coffee shop.
As she walked in, it was busy but not as much as it normally is during the weekday, she waited in line looking quite professional, dressed in a smart cream blouse and pencil skirt, wearing her black five-inch heels, she gained the attention of almost all of the people in the line ahead of her.
She was quite beautiful, her chocolate skin looked so smooth that she looked like a wax work model, she had beautiful hazel eyes that were complimented by full and long eye lashes that curved up, her eyes just popped against her brown skin and was quite frankly, mesmerising.
Her lips were full and plump and decorated with an eye-catching shade of red lipstick, that made her lips so inviting that you would forget to breath if you stared too long. She had high cheek bones, her nose was even cute, as it was a delicate Nubian nose that looked like it belonged to queen, not to mention she had curves for days and in all the right places.
In short, she was stunning and everyone noticed this, yet you could tell that she didn't as she walked to the back of the line, she did not notice that the eyes of every man and some women were watching her, as her focus was on the board above the register.
She then looked down at her bag to take out her purse to get ready to make her order and as she held her purse in her hand, she look up, finally noticing the eyes that were on her.
She looked around her surroundings to see why everyone was looking at her, however with this action of hers it seemed to bring them back to their senses as they shifted their gazes, some even looked embarrassed as they were caught in the act of staring.
As people finally looked away, she thought that there must have been something on her face that she didn't know about, so she took a compact mirror from her bag and looked at herself, she was relieved to see that there was nothing there.
'Why were that staring at me?' She thought to herself with a frown, which didn't go unnoticed by some of her embarrassed admirers. This action of hers, in their minds made her look cuter and more beautiful to them.
She shook away her thoughts as she realised that the line had moved forward and decided to concentrate on what she wanted to order, eventually she decided on an caramel Frappuccino as it was her favourite and since it was Saturday, why not splash out?
When she finally got to the front, she saw the barista who regularly served her during the week and became her friend, was working today.
So she smiled at him as usual and as he saw her he was stunned for a few seconds, which always seemed to happen to him or quite frankly everyone who looked at her extremely stunning smiling face, he then composed himself and smiled back at her, "Hi, why are you so dressed up on a Saturday, going anywhere special?"
He asked her with a smile and a curious gaze, he has known her for 2 years, ever since she started working in those offices nearby.
He couldn't believe that there was such a gorgeous woman living on this earth, she was more beautiful than A list actresses but the strange thing was she didn't seem realise this about herself.
She was really nice and very humble, she also had a great sense of humour and liked to talk with everyone, all the staff, even the girls that were jealous of her thought she was lovely and couldn't really hate her, even though they really, really, REALLY tried to.
As she stared into his blue eyes, she smiled awkwardly and she said embarrassed " Hi Sammy, I kinda.... maybe, forgot it was Saturday, so you've probably figured it out... I went to work." she shrugged her shoulders and shook her head at her own stupidity, he chuckled at her exasperated expression, as did some of the workers and customers who heard her.
She was really embarrassed now when she heard the chuckles around her. 'wait, why is everyone focused on me?' she thought to herself, as she peek her head around to see what was happening around her.
Sam noticing her discomfort then said with a smile "Well that explains you work outfit, what would you like to order?"
Once he gained her attention again, she remembered what she was here for and forgot the unwanted attention and she ordered her caramel Frappe. Since it's a Saturday, she thought she might as well treat herself and decided to sit in the café and enjoy it.
She rarely had time to sit as she was normally in a rush not be late for work but since she was up and out she might as well enjoy it.
