Chapter 4 - The black cat

Gilda wondered who the third person was, she would have one more intruder on her adventure, even if she doesn't hate this current intruder. One more person on the journey means that resources will have to be saved even more than they already are.

"I think I'll train my skills too." Louise said, not wanting to be left behind.

"Okay, assuming your mana regeneration is the same as mine, try not to spend, or in certain cases, not use the skill at its potency maximum." Gilda looked seriously at the girl in front of her.

"If you want to learn how to hunt with your skills, let's go to a different location. While patrolling at night, I didn't see any other animal besides the elk I killed." Gilda said, picking up her backpack.

Louise, delighted, takes her backpack too and follows Gilda, who is a little ahead of her after 1 hour and 30 minutes of walking. They eventually left the pine forest and proceeded to the other side of the plain, where they were summoned. On the way, there were some annoying insects.

That forest must have had something, because when the two left the pine forest and arrived in a new type of forest, this time a very diverse one, with different types of plants, after the two entered, they were faced with a type of skinny bear with a claw on its two front paws, its hind foot was that of a normal bear.

Gilda signals to Gilda that they hide in a bush, why do they never find a peaceful animal? She wondered when, in the bush, she felt something on her foot it was an injured black cat, and as a cat lover, she was heartbroken to see the state of the little feline. Louise, who was watching the bear, didn't see the little one.

Louise was going to bump into the kitten when suddenly Gilda shouted "NO!"

"The bear noticed us!" Louise spoke euphorically running.

"We still have the magician's protective barrier, but this little one doesn't!" Gilda replied, "I want to see that animal try touch Hiro!" said Gilda, invoking her skills, throwing her backpack away, and handing the kitten to Louise to hold.

Louise, with the euphoric kitten in her hand, looked at the scene with attention. When Louise heard the desperate meow of a cat, she noticed that the cat was looking at the scene with guilt. Gilda invoked her gloves, activated her Golden Lotus skill at medium capacity, and left for the bear. She decided to pet the feline's head.

"Aunt Gilda is really nice, right Hiro?" Louise spoke while looking around for a place to hide. Seeing a tree with low branches, she decided to climb to observe and hide the cat.

Louise, who didn't want to disturbed anymore, decided to look from above. Even trying to keep her mind calm was difficult. She had already seen a lot in her life, she had never had a family, but this woman could already be considered someone special to her.

After attacking the bear, which was more resistant than the elk, she decided to use the unique opportunity to train, and started attacking with punches at first, then tried blocking, and finally kicked and elbowed, realizing its limit.

Louise looked at the scene, wasn't Gilda playing with the bear? Seeing the cat look at the scene, Louise almost thought she had seen a bit of relief and admiration in his eyes.

After Gilda got tired, she finished the bear, but behind her there was an enemy that she hadn't noticed, and as a result, she received a punch in the belly, falling to the ground after the impact and bouncing a little blood from his mouth. When she saw the animal in front of her, it was a gorilla who was wearing a kind of stone glove. Thanks to her aura, she was able to survive, and the two hiding in the tree went into despair. Louise looked at the monkey in anger and unconsciously activated her ability, a water arrow with size modification, and advanced the attack on the gorilla.

The weak cat jumped from the tree, and with pain in his paws, he went slowly to where Gilda was. Gilda, who got up in pain, saw the kitten and the girl coming towards her.

"Hey! You guys, calm down." Gilda said, and Louise, looking at the woman, almost wanted to hug or maybe punch her. The kitten looked at the big sister, in his vision and felt sad for having involved her in a serious problem.

"Where are we going?" asked Louise.

"Let's go back to the pine forest; it's the safest place." Gilda said.

"But back to what area? The river is far away, and going there in your current condition is not advised." Louise expressed concern.

Gilda hadn't gone too far away before to avoid tiring the girl, and Louise pretended not to notice because she was too tired to scold, no matter how badly she fell into her theater.

Gilda picked up the curious and weak kitten and went towards where she had thrown the backpack, which was thankfully intact; he called Louise, opened the backpack, took a bag of snacks, and gave a little to each of the three; for the weak kitten, it was necessary to wet it a little, for the bottles of "water" that were running out, they had already drunk a bottle in one day; they had to save them better. She put some water in the bag of snacks and gave it to the kitten to drink. Then the kitten started to sleep.

Gilda, who was with the dirty clothes, decided to use the clothes I had in the backpack, the chosen ones were brown pants with four pockets, good for moving, and a gray blouse that was refreshing and without many accessories.

Louise also thought she should change her clothes, so she chose a light blue short skirt and a black shirt with a collar with star details.

"What's a kitten doing alone in the middle of nowhere?" Louise asked.

"I don't know, but he doesn't seem very used to this forest, he looked like he was starving." Gilda said, looking at the cat.

"He's really cute, let's keep him" Gilda said looking at the kitty.

"Really!?!" Louise exclaimed, even the kitten seems to have woken up and looks happy.

"Really." Gilda says.

They were too excited, she thinks It will be a little complicated to care two kids, but she's already gained these two little kids out of nowhere, thinking that now the kitten has joined the group.

"So, what about we became a family! I never had one, can we have your last name?" Louise asked

"Yes, you two can." Gilda agrees because of the eyes the two where giving to her, she didn't understand why Louise wanted her last name.

Then a screen appears in front of you:

[Louise and Hiro are part of your family now.]

Gilda looked at the screen and emptied her thoughts. She would see later what family meant in that system.

"Then let's go to the forest of the pines now." Gilda picked up the kitten, who was sleeping in her hand, could he be her new teenage cat son? judging by the size.

"Why did you call him Hiro?" Louise asked.

"Because he gave me the impression of that name, it's also the name of a character I like in a novel, and he seems like a hero." Gilda comments.

The kitten, who was half awake, heard the words and felt happiness; finally, he had a name, and then he went back to sleep happy.

"Novel?" Louise asked, and they walked back into the pine forest talking.

When they arrived in a clear area, it was afternoon, and Louise used the backpacks as pillows, which was not very comfortable.

Gilda, stunned by the quick events that occurred, was half in a trance, returning to normal when she heard Louise's voice.

"So now we are brothers! My name is Louise Lotus, and you are Hiro Lotus!" Louise spoke with great happiness.

"R-right!" said Hiro. Louise was even happier that her new brother could talk, and Gilda couldn't understand, why does the cat talk?

"S-sorry, I couldn't speak earlier because of the lack of mana, I also have a human form, but I don't think you'll like it, everyone said I was destined for disgrace." said Hiro embarrassed.

"Brother! Could you please show us your human form? Please!" Louise asked very happily, and Gilda was also curious, but she saw that the boy didn't want to show his human form, so she was going to ask Louise to stop bothering him.

When Gilda looked to the side, she saw a little boy the same height as Louise, with little cat ears, black hair, and caramel eyes, he was wearing a cute green shirt and black sweatpants. So cute! She thought he also had a symbol of a green flower in his hand, a beautiful flower.
