The chocolate syrup was finished. Gilda took two spoons and gave it to Hiro and Louise to taste, and both loved the taste.
"I haven't had anything sweet in a while," Louise said.
"It makes you thirsty, but it's very good," commented Hiro.
"There are about 5 minutes left until the promised time, I think nobody would mind let us drink three glasses of water," Gilda said, handing a glass of water to the two little helpers.
After drinking the water, Gilda started to organize the kitchen, while Hiro and Louise tried to help, but they got distracted by something in the middle of the task. When almost everything was tidy, the door was opened, and a man with black hair and green eyes appeared. He had slightly oval feline ears on his head.
"So you are the new helpers?" The man spoke with a look of mockery, seeing the two children.
"At least you cleaned up the kitchen a bit, can I see the bread you made?" The man continued.
"Here it is, they are donuts," Gilda said, delivering a separate donut on a plate.
"For you too, lady bear!" Louise separated one for the bear owner, who was at the door watching from afar.
"Oh, thank you, young lady, but I'm not the judge," the bear said.
"It doesn't matter, I thought you were hungry when we entered the store." Louise began to speak, a truth mixed with a lie, because she had liked the bear woman, thought she seemed like someone nice, and wanted to get her a donut too.
"Thank you, I forgot to tell you at the entrance, my name is Jean." The bear took the donut with a smile between her pointed teeth.
"I'll eat later." The bear added it after a while, went to the entrance, and put it away in a box for later. She had already eaten, so she was not very hungry now.
The man watched for a while, what is a donut? He asked himself, then finally put that different bread, in his mouth. That's when, after tasting the taste of the donuts, his pupils dilated.
"Sis, is he all right?" Louise asked Gilda, staring at the man in front of her, paralyzed.
"Yes, he's fine, it just seems like he liked the donut," Gilda answered the girl's question.
"Hmm, great! Approved!" The man answered.
"First, let me introduce myself. My name is Jade, and I'm a beast man of the jaguar species," Jade introduced herself.
"My name is Gilda, Pleasure, and these two are Hiro and Louise," Gilda introduced everyone quickly.
"Nice to meet you all, Jean will show you around and answer a few questions before giving me the recipe for that donut you made, now I must depart, bye."Jade said goodbye from afar and went to speak with Jean, who was at the checkout with the donut box beside her as if it were a very valuable object. Louise spoke first.
"Oh, alright, I'll show you how the bakery works," Jean replied, happiness visible in her little eyes.
Then Jean closed the shop and started showing the bakery's locations, she said that could see now that the bakery is in close time, so she started with the area where the products were displayed for purchase, it was a place with good lighting, and all the products were beautiful, then she showed the kitchen, that they already knew, the warehouse, which had different temperatures, and finally, where they were going to live, she also explained about working hours and what to do.
"The food will be served in the cafeteria, but you can have a little of what our bakers had make, prove if it's good," Jean said.
"Okay, thanks for showing you around," Gilda thanked .
"There's no need to thank me, and if you have any questions about the bakery, just call me, I'll be going now, bye." Jean said goodbye to everyone.
After Jean left, Louise hurriedly opened the bedroom door. The room had four beds, a plant in the corner, a trash can, and two windows, there were two other doors in the bedroom, the first led to a closet room with four closets, a window, and a sofa, the second was a large bathroom with a bathtub, a toilet, cleaning utensils, and toothbrushes, among other bathroom things.
"I'll take the blue brush, and the bed by the left window and the closet or whatever." Louise spoke quickly, already proclaiming her things.
"So I keep the green brush, and I stay on the bed in the right corner near the door." Gilda took advantage and chose her new, temporary belongings.
"So I'm on the center bed on the right, and the brush..." Hiro was going to choose his brush but hadn't paid much attention to the colors.
"white," continued Hiro, not caring much.
"It's really fascinating that here there are some very new utensils if compared a little with the earth, but others not" Gilda commented.
"it must be because of other Summoneds" Louise said. Hiro sit in his bed amazed.
"So, let's go to sleep, work in the morning, and in the afternoon we'll go to the civilization center," Gilda said after arranging the pillowcases and covers on the beds.
"Uhm, good night." Louise stated that she was getting ready in bed.
"Good night," Hiro replied, happy to sleep in a good bed for the first time.
Louise had one of her visions that night, in it, she saw Hiro holding something, and if she realized it was a living being, she and Gilda were there. They seemed to be in some kind of ancient tower.
In the morning, Louise talked about her vision.
"It looks like Hiro is going to have a pet or something similar," Gilda commented after hearing what Louise reported.
"It can be other things, so let's wait to see what or who is" Hiro said it adding.
After the three of them took a bath and put on their clothes for the kitchen, they started making cakes, breads, snacks, and sweets, varying the amount of certain things and adding others. After making the food, they gave it to Jean, who set the amount, and she always ate a little more than her due.
Then, inestimably, around noon, the three of them went to the mess hall,
but it had room for many people to stay. So Gilda led, took a plate, and served some food. The food was unique, but what was most surprising was that it had a grain that looked like rice.
"Jean, could you tell me the name of that white grain?" After leaving the cafeteria, Gilda asked Jean:
"That's called rice, it was brought here by a human being from another world, it's a legend, that has been traveling in this world for years," Jean replied, when asked as if she was remembering her childhood.
"It's another world what a nice history" Gilda said, a little embarrassed.
"Jean, we're..." Louise was about to say something when suddenly Gilda put a piece of bread in her mouth.
"She didn't eat well," Gilda said.
"Don't comment about the Earth," Gilda said softly, just for Louise to hear.
"All right, Jean, we'll go out for a bit, we'll be back at three to get back to work," Gilda said as she walked out of the store.
Jean agreed and gave the three of them a bottle of water, talking about the importance of staying hydrated.
After walking for a while and looking at the unique landscape, the three arrived at the center of civilization. Gilda held the two little ones by the hand so as not to lose them and entered the big building, which was a little smaller than the Adventurer's Guild.
Unlike the guild, which was almost empty that day, the civilization center was full. Seeing the crowd, Gilda felt like giving up, but took a token and stood in a corner with Hiro and Louise waiting, Louise was bored, and Hiro watched the people pass when their number was called, after the 1:30 wait.
"Hi, how can I help you?" The attendant asked automatically.
"Hello, we would like to ask you a few things about the kingdom, we are new here," Gilda said, and the attendant sighed.
"I see. Anything else besides the questions?" the attendant continued.
"Yes, about the civilization certificate," Hiro commented.
"If you want, I can bring you a card for you to register, it's free." The attendant looked at the cute child in front of her and replied.
Then the woman pulled out her drawer and took out the cards.
"Just add some mana," the attendant said.
After registering, an image appeared, possibly projected by the mana, and the name appeared next to the image, along with Hiro's age, which impressed the attendant.
After registering, Gilda decided to start asking questions. She thought for a moment about what she should ask.
"Then I can start asking the questions," Gilda asked first.
"Ok, start fast, there are other people in line." The attendant spoke with ignorance.
Then Gilda began to ask about the legends, the places, the civilized species, and the relationship between kingdoms. In the end, she got a map with some information about the kingdom.
