Gilda looked for a cheap place to stay, not wanting a dangerous place. Before leaving, while still working at the bakery, she learned about the city they were in, which was the capital of Edezl kingdom. In her conversations with Jean, she learned some places not to go. In the superficial part of the city, it was good, but still, if you're unlucky or looking for it, it might not end up in a good situation.
After half an afternoon of research, Gilda finally found a not-too-expensive tavern in a not-too-dangerous area. After booking the rooms, Gilda and the kids went to buy extra clothes for Hiro, mainly.
"I think this one is pretty," Louise said of the outfit she chose for Hiro to experiment in.
"Isn't it tight? Is it comfortable?" Gilda asked Hiro.
"Okay, I think I like it... What is the price?" Hiro said that looking at the clothes he was wearing, chosen by Louise, it was a simple blue blouse with white polka dots and pants.
"Oh, it looks like the customer liked the outfit; the price for the blouse with the pants is 2 silver coins," the salesman said, making a sly face.
Gilda chose this and two other simple sets of clothes for Hiro; the clothes brought 6 silver and 20 bronze coins, plus the stay at the tavern, which was 1 silver coin for a week, with the right to a simple breakfast every morning. And at night, dinner if you pay a price of 15 copper coins. Gilda realized that they had won even more money.
Gilda also realized the increase in reward. She tried to go back to ask Jean about the affair, but she discovered it wasn't a mistake in calculation but rather that it was all planned. In the end, your reward was an exorbitant 23 silver coins.
All money, if not replenished, runs out, and that was the case. Gilda was thinking about businesses she could pursue in this world, while Hiro thought about studying a little off of the book he brought, chosen especially for his desire to want to help his new family, choosing to specialize for when missions are more difficult. Louise, on the other hand, realized the deficit in gain, and I wanted to train the bow as fast as possible, which she did not have, from the teachings of the book she chose in the library.
After purchasing basic utensils and arriving at the tavern, the three gathered in Gilda's room to talk a little before resting.
"I think that we should find a steady job or set up a secure business." Gilda got right to the point she wanted to get to in today's conversation.
Louise and Hiro looked at her with a look of doubt.
"We don't want to be adventurous? Why did we join the guild then?" The first answer was Louise.
"I know it's dangerous, but..." I'll become strong to protect you, so you can stay on the safe side," Hiro said, imagining himself as a hero of legend.
"No, this idea is even more dangerous; look at your age!" Gilda exclaimed, remembering the spider incident and wondering if the children had stayed behind. In a way, she decided not to be more in danger, and neither of you just acquired younger brothers.
"But what about the money? And our adventure? You forgot our promise!" Louise looked at Gilda desperately.
Gilda saw the two children clamoring for her to continue, but where would that lead? They were children! Taking kids on an adventure she herself didn't know if she could return?
No!
"But—" Louise tried to answer.
"No buts; I can go, but you can't! Only when they get bigger!" Gilda responded quickly; she could get into those tangles, but not children.
"But we are already big!" Hiro responds, looking at Gilda.
"I just want you two to enjoy your infancy! At least what's left of it; if you want to venture out, you'll have to grow a little more!" Gilda answered back.
Hiro was quite thoughtful.
"But what about our promise?" We weren't going to venture out together! You weren't going to stay with me!'' Louise replied, almost screaming; her face was red, and tears accumulated in his eyes.
Gilda sighed.
"Didn't I tell you to prevent... Just don't throw your life in the fire; our promise remains, but it will take some time to fulfill," Gilda replied calmly.
"It couldn't be now; I chose an archery book to help you; if I train, I will definitely help you!" Louise answered again.
"With a book? If it's not your ability, like you would know to use a bow, have you ever actually held one?" Hiro replied, looking down.
Louise stopped for a second; she knew the basics of archery but nothing more. She realized what Gilda wanted to say, but that didn't take away her sadness. Having to wait for something she already knew was next to occur was a little frustrating; she was no longer a little baby, Louise thought internally.
"So, how are we going to make money?" Hiro asked.
Apply was also looking for an answer to that question; she wanted to continue in the adventurer's guild, stopping to think that she decided to take the children to the current missions since they are low level.
Then, when it gets more complicated, she leaves them in a safe place, but where?
"I'll stay in the guild; I'll take you to do some F-rank missions, but after F-rank, it's over!" Gilda replied calmly.
"At least let us escort you to Rank E Level II, where the most dangerous thing is little monsters!" Hiro spoke excitedly.
Gilda thought a little and agreed reluctantly. Louise also got excited for more than just the fact that missions don't have to be difficult; they can be fun.
After everyone went back to their rooms, they decided to read some of their books before sleeping because it wasn't too late.
Gilda started with the book that taught the basics about mana. If the book was good, maybe she would give it to Hiro to read a little since he only chose one book.
After reading for a while, Gilda didn't even notice the time; it had already passed a little while since she slept, so she decided to put the book aside and go to sleep. She liked the book, but she felt it wasn't quite what she was looking for; in some sense, it didn't make sense with her abilities.
When she lay down to sleep, she heard a scream from the street; it seemed that it came from the side of the tavern. Alarmed, she decided to get up and go downstairs to see what it was because the windows of the tavern were not open. Big enough to be able to see something.
Gilda decided to take a look at the children first. Louise had the blanket on the floor; Gilda covered her and went to Hiro's room later.
Hiro was well; he was only sleeping with the book still on the bed. Gilda put the book away and continued on her way to see the source of the scream.
