Gilda, Louise, and Hiro asked some questions before returning to the bakery, such as what the value of the coin is, which is divided into bronze, silver, gold, platinum, and diamond. At the end, the woman said that 100 bronze coins are worth one silver coin, 100 silver coins are worth one gold coin, 10,000 gold coins are worth one platinum coin, and the diamond coin is a special extra used only in dungeons that is equivalent to 100 platinum coins (because it's the only that can be used in dungeon). Louise and Gilda thought about whether this mobile device was a type of brick cell phone or a thin one.
After they asked the questions, they went back to the bakery to complete their second farewell. That day, Jean told them to release those donuts they had made last time. Gilda knew how to make a few more types of snacks and desserts, but as she didn't want to stay in that place forever, she lied that it was a family recipe.
After working another two hours, Louise and Hiro were tired.
"Let's have dinner, then brush our teeth, and then sleep," Gilda said to the two who were already counting sheep.
So after doing what Gilda told them, they were settling down on the bed to go to sleep.
"Good evening. Tomorrow we will not be doing anything, but the day after tomorrow we will go to the public library." Gilda spoke, leaving a day off for the two little ones to rest.
"Big sis, I have a question that I forget to ask" Hiro said.
"And what is it?" Gilda asked.
"it's about the guild, why wouldn't it have a test or something similar?"
"Maybe it's because we are F class, maybe if we want to rank up we need to pass some trial" Louise suggested.
"It can be it" Gilda agreed.
"Só, good night" Louise and Hiro replied, half asleep after the conversation.
In the morning, Gilda went to deliver the bread as usual and had a conversation with Jean.
"Don't you think about continuing to work here? I'm sure when the others come back, they'll love you," Jean said.
"No thanks" Gilda replied.
Jean realized it was an automatic response and shut up.
"It's not that I don't like it here, it's just that I have other things to do after the contract ends," Gilda added after noticing the other party's silence.
"I see," Jean replied, a little depressed.
"Everyone went to cook at the royal feast, and the boss was almost bald thinking about who to leave in the kitchen when he was away." After some thought, Jean spoke up.
"But why hire adventurers?" Gilda asked.
"To see if I could find someone with talent like you," Jean replied.
After a few more words, Gilda left.
On the second day of work, everything went well, nothing very special happened, and Hiro and Louise were able to rest.
Then came the next day. It was a pleasant temperature, Gilda, Louise, and Hiro had already worked and had lunch, and they were ready to go to the library, following the map.
Even after a while, it was hard to believe in some beings that appeared on the street.
"Look, Hiro!" Louise says, pointing to a billboard of a beastman, that she thought was the same race as Hiro, that she honestly wasn't interested, but thought he was a similar to Hiro.
"Yeah, yeah, he's similar to my race but he isn't from my race" Hiro replied.
Louise widens her eyes and prepares to continue, but suddenly Louise feels a slap on the back of her head. She looks back and sees that Gilda is judging her.
"Stop messing with Hiro we need go to the library" Gilda told the girl.
After walking a little more, they arrived at the library. When they entered Hiro was the first to be amazed by the place.
"How many books!" Hiro exclaimed, fantasizing about what he saw.
"Okay, let's look for some books, two for each only, that's what it says on the interactive map," said Gilda.
"Walk close to me, this place is big," said Gilda after repairing the two's distance.
"But how are we going to find cool books if we're stuck together, and if you go to see boring books?" Louise replied
"I won't see boring books, each one can lead us to understand better the world, so let's go first to where I will get the books I want, then I will go to an area where there will be some for your interests" Gilda said, having in mind that some books may have content not recommended for their age in your imagination.
"Okay, let's first ask the librarian about the book sections." Gilda said, going towards the librarian, a dark man with yellow eyes and black hair, he was tall and had pointed ears, he was an elf! Of that, Gilda was almost sure.
"Hello, sir, we would like to ask where the history and geography books are," Gilda asked politely.
"Hi, the history ones are on shelves C-18 to 29, while the geography ones are from shelves C-29 to 35, on the second floor, it starts on the left," the elf said.
"Okay, thank you," Gilda told him, then thanked him and left with Louise and Hiro.
Going up the stairs, Hiro almost tripped, but Gilda caught his hand before falling, after which it was recommended to use the banister.
On the shelves that the librarian spoke about, there were some papers at the bottom and some separators showing which were the most specific genres of books. In the end, Gilda chose only one book, more specifically an atlas, because she thought she could find more interesting things there.
After Gilda chose her book, Louise ran to ask the elf where the storybooks were located, and as soon as Hiro and Gilda went down the stairs, they were pulled to the shelf of stories. where she chose two books, The Little Gray Flower and The Little Warrior.
After Hiro went to choose one book, he chose creatures a summary book about monsters and some plants for adventures. Where Louise decided to trade her book The Little Warrior for Learn to Use a Bow and Arrow and Gilda got her second book, Mana Cultivation, Summary for Beginners. Hiro chose Plants and Nature and another survival manual.
After choosing their books, the three went to the librarian.
"So you chose these books?" The elf spoke.
"Okay, so you must take it and return it within 1 month business days, or you will be charged a fee of a copper coin for each day that is missing, if 2 months pass, the book will be considered lost and you must pay 1 gold for the item," the librarian explained.
"Understood, I will take care of them with my life!" Louise replied
"You don't need that much, your life is more important than a book, if you don't have money, just work hard," the librarian replied.
"And if you can't finish the book in a month, just come back here and renew it, and you can stay with the book a little longer to finish it" The elf continued, handing over the books in small bags.
"Then let us go, thank you, sir," Gilda said.
"You can call me Tomás, goodbye, and come back whenever you want," the elf replied.
After leaving the library, Gilda, Louise, and Hiro continued their normal routine, but with a difference, now they used their rest time. time off to read, and share the new information with each other.
"Gilda, I wonder how the other summoneds are doing," Louise said, settling herself on the bed.
"Were there any other summoneds?" Hiro asked, even though he knew that Louise and Gilda were from another world they hadn't commented on other earthlings.
"Yes, there were others" Gilda replied with little interest.
It had been four more days since they had been working at the bakery, and Louise was already bored of seeing bread.
"When will this end? I can't take it anymore, I want to hunt!" Louise complained.
"Only four days left," Gilda replied.
"It's not that bad, at least we're in a safe place," Hiro said.
Louise thought about what had happened and fell silent.
"Okay, let's keep working and get a little more money, so we can have a weapon at least," Gilda said.
"Right, sister!" The two little ones answered.
So time passed quickly. If the day came for the honorary cooks to return, Gilda, Louise, and Hiro took their belongings and put them in their backpacks. Jean said goodbye to the three.
"And why don't you go meet our bakers?" Jean insisted for a while.
"I don't think it's necessary. Now, payment, please." Gilda replied.
"Right here it is." Jean gave up and handed over the payment, but with a raise, which was not noticeable on account of it being delivered in an envelope, and Gilda trusting Jean and not seeing it.
"Goodbye, Miss Jean," Louise said.
"Thanks for everything, goodbye," Gilda said.
"Goodbye, Jean," Hiro said at last. And there were three left.
"What will we do now?" Louise asked.
"Buy clothes for Hiro, the poor guy has only been wearing two pairs of clothes, and one is yours since we got here," Gilda replied.
"We don't need a weapon, and we don't have any money, so let's find an address and continue doing missions," Gilda added.
