After a while of walking, the annoying insects of this world started to come, maybe these strange insects are concentrated in certain places in the forest.
"What annoying animals! Those different mosquitoes!" Louise couldn't take it anymore and spoke out loud.
"Really annoying!" Gilda slapped one and crushed it.
"And they are still disgusting, look, they die with our blood!" Louise continued to rant about the mosquito-like insects until she reached the plain.
The insects resembled the common mosquito, their only difference with it was the body, which was slightly larger and had eight feathers.
As they walked a little further, they decided to take a break for a drink of water.
They sat in the shade of one of the few trees in the vicinity. While they rested, Louise saw an animal that looked like a spider, only bigger, it could be compared to an adult lion. Louise decided to shoot one of her water arrows at the spider, when she shot the arrow, she missed, so she tried again and hit the spider's head, which gushed a blue liquid.
After defeating the monster, Louise called Gilda and Hiro to show them the hunt.
Gilda, who was thinking about what to do, noticed that Louise had left, so she called Hiro to look for her, Hiro found Louise and the disgusting dead spider.
"Gilda! I found her!" Hiro screamed, then he took a better look a her situation.
"look behind!" Hiro screamed to Louise pointing behind her, she tuned and saw other spiders in the same size as the one she killed, then she noticed a big spider in the middle of the brood.
When Gilda saw her, she was terrified. Behind the child, there were a lot of spiders, and Louise had just noticed. Hiro used Burning Feet on him and on Gilda, who ran to save the girl. Gilda activated Golden Lotus and her weapon, used her legs to give a boost, picked up the child and threw it to the teenager, and in a blink of an eye, Gilda disappeared around the spiders. Louise and Hiro looked at the scene in horror. Louise felt guilty and angry with herself.
Gilda yelled at the two of them to get away, and Louise grabbed and yanked Hiro by the arm, her heart pounding.
As a last option, Gilda used her aura to the maximum to get out, with a bloodied and broken arm and leg and deep bite marks, she ran as fast as she could, not caring so much about the pain she felt.
Hiro used his skill on Gilda, Burning Feet, again using the skill with as much power as he could. But the spiders were too fast, and they were closing in fast.
"GET OUT OF HERE! GO TO EDEZL!" shouted Gilda, pointing to the now visible kingdom.
The children began to cry and run towards the city, and Gilda came to a halt in front of the spiders, ready to end their lives. She couldn't pay attention to all of them, so the mage's protection became useless. Gilda can see all of her regrets and happy moments passing through her eyes; Louise and Hiro, for sure, were among her warmest memories, despite the fact that she didn't spend much time with them.
After some time had passed and she still hadn't seen the other world from the legends, she decided to open her eyes. When she opens her eyes, she notices a someone in front of her with a costume similar to that of a knight in one of the novels she has read, when she looks down, she sees her two children crying and hugging her, who was kneeling on the floor; and Gilda then fainted completely.
A while before, when Louise and Hiro ran to the kingdom, Louise saw a woman in a knight's outfit. Hiro also saw her and ran towards the woman, whose eyes were red from crying and whose looks were filled with despair.
"I beg you, please save our big sister."The knight who was strolling looked at the two miserable children in front of her.
"Where is your sister?" the knight asked, moving with the children in front of her.
Then Hiro pointed to where Gilda was and used Flames of Empowerment and Burning Feet on the knight, who felt the increase in power and speed, after which Hiro fainted.
When the cavalry arrived, they saw the woman who must have been the children's sister, she was badly hurt, she was young, and behind her was a bunch of spiders. Quickly, the knight managed to grab the woman and carry her away. She brought the young woman to stand with her children at the gate of the central city. And he came back to finish off the spiders so that there would be no more incidents like this.
Louise was terrified, she had caused so much damage, to her new family, her sister and brother, were passed out, and it was her fault. So after a while, Louise fell asleep next to them.
In the morning, Hiro woke up and noticed Louise sleeping on a bench, he and Gilda were on a stretcher. Even tired and still recovering mana, Hiro used Healing Beds on Gilda and in his feet, the fire healed some of her injuries. Louise woke up and saw the scene in silence.
After Gilda recovered a little, Hiro got tired again and slept, not noticing the little watcher.
In the afternoon, Gilda woke up, looked to the side, saw Hiro on a stretcher, and remembered what had happened, then looked at the room, there was an open window, where Louise was shaking looking at the training of the magic archers.
"If only I were as strong as they are" Louise whispered.
"You are already strong," Gilda, who heard the girl, reply.
"Gilda!" Louise was startled to see Gilda at her side.
Gilda looked where Louise was looking and realized it was a training ground for some kind of magic archer.
"Let's adapt to the place first, look for a job, and pay the debt we owe to that knight," Gilda said.
"Shouldn't we venture out?" Louise said, looking at Gilda.
"First, let's understand how this world works, then let's go on an adventure, I can even find a teacher of this magical archery, I think, but first let's see the prices, promise" Gilda said, looking at the child.
"It looks like you're better."
Gilda was surprised, that was the same voice as the knight who saved her, when she turned around, she saw that it was her, only without armor. It was a woman with horns on her head, white hair, and dark skin.
"You don't need to repay me, I was just doing my duty to take care of the city," the knight added.
"Sorry to bother you, but we are new here, and we would like to know how this kingdom works, is there somewhere to work?" Hiro, who had been awake for a while, asked
"So you came here from somewhere else, and I would recommend the Adventures guild, the common quests I think fit for a temporary income," the knight said.
"Does this adventures guild have any levels going from F to S?" Gilda asked.
"Yes, but the highest rank is not just one S, but two SS," the knight cheerfully stated.
"I have to go now, if you need to asked some questions you can ask me, I will reply if you have time. By the way, my name is Snow. Bye!" The Snow Knight then left.
The room was silent when Snow left.
"Do you need to pay to enroll in the Adventurers guild?" Hiro was the one who started it.
"I don't think so, because she would recommend something paid, knowing that we don't have anything," Louise said, sitting down on the bench that was in the corner of the door.
"Let's go out and look for the guild then," Gilda said.
"What about your backpacks?" Hiro noticed that they were without their backpacks.
"They're on a hanger by the bedroom door," Louise said.
"Whoever chose these clothes has good taste, they are comfortable," Gilda said, noticing the clothes she was wearing.
"What happened to the clothes I was wearing?" Gilda remembered.
"It was thrown away, and before asking who changed them, it was a nurse" Louise replied.
"Louise, those clothes could regenerate, do you know where the garbage was put?" Gilda spoke.
"I don't think they've thrown them out yet, but they're in the trash by the door next to the backpacks." Louise spoke, a little awkwardly, having forgotten about the clothing's abilities.
After leaving the room, picking up the backpacks, and having Gilda go through the trash, until she found the clothes, the three left the place where Snow had left them. Edezl was full of different races of mythical and fantastic beings, the houses did not have their own style, as each race had its own habitat and different lifestyle.
"Hello, sir! Do you know where the Adventures Guild is?" Louise stopped some kind of minotaur in the street.
"The guild is three blocks from here on the right," the lord replied.
The three thanked him and went to the location specified by the minotaur, where they discovered a building resembling a mall, with Adventures Guild written on a large sign.
"So we arrived here at the Adventurers Guild," Hiro said.
"Let's go inside" said Gilda.
"So big!" exclaimed Louise.
"Let's look for a calm work, Gilda didn't fully heald her injuries" Hiro said looking at excited Louise and Gilda who came limping sometimes.
