Chapter 7 - Looking for a mission

When they entered the guild of adventurers, they were faced with a simple but beautiful place. You could see a huge and crowded bar, and also stairs to the second floor with the letters A and S, the first floor (underground) that said rank SS.

It also had some rooms that looked like they were for games, sales, and even an auction house?

The beings that passed by were also unique, Gilda had already seen elves, beastmen, and gnomes, as recognized examples.

"Hiro, you are a beast man, right?" Gilda asked.

"I think so" Hiro responded instantly.

"It's like a cute werewolf who doesn't need a moon, and instead of a wolf, he becomes a kitten." Louise spoke after thinking for a while.

"Yeah, really," Gilda added, and she remembered Hiro's fluffy cat form.

"Werewolfs are dangerous they are a bloodthirsty race" Hiro said looking in Louise eyes.

"Have you ever meet one, maybe they are just misunderstood" Louise responded.

There was silence for a while, until Hiro change the subject.

"I think my race had a name, but I can't remember, so let's stick with beastman" Hiro spoke in a hurry, he knew the name his kind used, but it was a very strange name, it was better to be a beastman anyway.

"Then let's find where to register" Gilda said, changing the subject as Hiro's face was pale.

"But where do you sign up?" Louise said, looking around.

"Ha! Over there!" said Louise, answering her own question.

Louise was pointing to a box with six balcoons, only two of which had attendants, and a written sign written, Registration of the Guild of Adventurers: 8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. and 15:00 a.m.-18:00 a.m.

Gilda was even more impressed that she could understand what was written, and also realizing that the speech was also open.

"Okay, let's go, but don't leave my side." The two nodded, and the two little ones started to follow Gilda, Hiro offered to help Gilda who didn't heal completely, but she thanked him and said it wasn't necessary.

Gilda, Hiro accidentally trips over someone.

"S-sorry" Hiro said without looking at the being's face.

"Okay, it was no big deal." Hiro heard the man's voice and got up, going back to Gilda's side.

"Wow, it looked so much like a scene from a novel that one of my classmates read," Louise said randomly.

"Hiro, are you okay?" Gilda asked the boy, and pinched Louise nose, Louise ignored it.

"Yeah, in fine, I was just distracted?" Hiro he responded.

"Let's just continue" Louise said with energy in the look that was pointed at the counter.

"Everything's resolved, so let's register," Gilda said, closing the matter.

So the three of them went together to the attendant, who was a man made of plants.

"Hello, we'd like to apply to the adventurers guild," Gilda began.

"Okay, put your hand on this card, it's confidential, it will only show the name and rank, only the S and SS ranks have an additional nickname, everyone starts with F rank all the ranks have differences every rank has their three I,II and III levels except SS who don't need" The receptionist spoke with a lazy tone:

"Hi, sir, how do we know what to hunt and what not to hunt?" Louise asked.

"Are you going to hunt? The beings that must be hunted are those of darkness, and without intellect." The receptionist calmly replied.

"Not that we're going to hunt, but how do you recognize a bad or irrational being?" Gilda asked.

"It's an addition to the adventurer card or the civilized certificate, the identification system is added, by any chance you didn't know?" The receptionist replied.

"No, we're new here, thanks for the information," Gilda thanked him.

"It's okay if you've done the adventurer registration it can also be used as a civilization certificate, even though it's better to have the two separate." The receptionist commented, and went to get three cards, then handed them over.

"Just put some mana in and it activates," the receptionist said, yawning.

"How do you put mana into that?" Louise asked.

"Don't you know that too? Just imagine your mana and share it with the card." The receptionist answered, intrigued.

"I don't understand." Louise replied

"Think about what you felt when you cast your skill, without casting the skill and try to share that with the card," Hiro replied.

Louise tried to do what Hiro said and got it:

Louise Lotus: Rank F

"Oh, cool! It showed up!" Louise said.

Then Gilda, who also heard Hiro's explanation, registered:

Gilda Lotus: Rank F

Then Hiro registered:

Hiro Lotus: Rank F

"So you are a family, I hope everything goes well in your adventures, goodbye," the receptionist said, expelling them secretly.

"Let's see the mural!" Louise spoke.

There were several holographic missions on the wall, as well as murals for each rank.

"What kind of mission are we going to choose?" Hiro was serious.

"How about this one about coelrilu hunting?" Louise said, pointing to a poster.

"What is a coelrilu? Maybe later." Gilda decided to refuse.

"How about this one, collecting cat herbs? Me and Louise can do it and you can rest a little" Hiro said.

"Sounds interesting, let's do this one later, but I will participate too" Gilda said, finding it a little funny.

"But let's go with this one first, it pays well and it's easy." Gilda displayed a search mission for temporary employees for ten days, with the right to a room and a payment of two silver coins and twenty bronze coins after ten days.

They went to the guild's quest box, which also had a sign to signal.

"Hi, I would like to accept this mission, and these two will also participate." Gilda handed the hologram paper to the woman at the cashier, with Hiro and Louise at her side.

"Okay, here it is." The human-like woman handed over the signed papers.

"If you don't mind, can we ask you a few questions? We're new here." Gilda had a few questions and wanted to take the opportunity to ask them.

"Sorry, but I am not responsible for answering questions, if you want a place to ask about the place and its culture, go to the citizen service center, to get there, you have to go three blocks straight, turn left, and follow another five blocks forward, then you will see a yellow and green building, where the citizen service center is located, or use a communicator, but as you are just civilized, you shouldn't have." The receptionist spoke.

"Okay, but where is the bakery?" Gilda decided to ask about the mission.

"That question I can answer, it's two blocks behind the guild" the woman replied.

"OK, thanks, bye" Gilda said as she walked away with Hiro and Louise.

Leaving the adventurers guild, the three of them were heading to the bakery. They arrived in front of the bakery, which was very beautiful and refined both outside and inside. After entering the bakery, Gilda went to the cashier to talk about the mission and found out that they had to pass a test to be able to really start doing the mission, Gilda hadn't seen this detail written because it was in the corner with a very small font.

"So how do you guys want to start the test yet?" The woman, who was a bear at the checkout, asked.

"Yeah!" Louise answered before Gilda could speak.

"The test is simple, you will have to make a loaf of bread. There is a book of common recipes on the table, you have 1 hour and 30 minutes to prepare it." The bear added.

After the bear woman left, the three discussed for five minutes what kind of bread they should make.

"I think sweet bread with guava jelly in the middle is a good option."

"Also, is there guava in this world?" Louise asked.

"I don't think so, so let's make regular bread." Gilda remembered that in this world, fruits were different, and making jam would take a long time and could fail.

"I saw that it has a material that is like chocolate," Louise commented.

"So let's try making a donut then." Gilda decided.

Hiro, without understanding anything, helped to look for the ingredients, knead the dough, and look for ingredients similar to what Gilda and Louise were talking about.

After a while of preparation and searching, the donuts were ready, all that was missing was the chocolate sauce and the finishing touches.
