After seeing Gilda nod, Louise understood that it was about the stone, that the bald man had been talking about, to awaken the powers. After looking at the woman, who was happy and shocked to see her, Louise decided to pick up the small stone, and she took it out of the package. It was small, in her imagination, it was something the same size as the sphere, but when she saw the stone that Gilda had shown her before, she thought she could swallow it.
Louise had already seen the woman eat the stone, so she knew it was to be ingested. She read what was written, on the paper that was with the stone, it said the same as Gilda's, which added to her certainty, she had to eat that. After opening the package and picking up the small stone, Louise put it in her mouth, ready to swallow, but when she put it in her mouth, was it soft? Amazed and delighted, she decided to bite gently, for fear that the stone would get hard again and break her teeth.
Right after eating, her new abilities appeared.
Skills:
Active: [Water arrow] and [Walk on water]
Passives: [Quick Thinking], [Dreamy], [Star Oracle] and [Courage]
After seeing the new skills, Louise became interested in the skill Courage and decided to ask Gilda if she also had any new passive skills. After seeing that the woman had her attention turned to her own abilities, Louise decided to wait and began to look at the woman, who had now changed eye color and had a flower mark on both of her hands. Louise wondered if she, too, had undergone a change.
When the woman came to her senses, Louise talked to her and discovered that she also had a mark on her forehead in the shape of a star and her eyes had turned blue, but she didn't feel that she had anything different.
Louise was intrigued by the skills, primarily because of the names, but she didn't want to let her guard down, so she waited for Gilda, who was seeing her own skills, to show Louise her own. She thought it was strange that after eating the awakening stone, she seemed to gain confidence and insight; perhaps it was the skill effect [Courage].
During the waiting time, Louise decided to see the other items in the backpack. In the biggest pocket, there were snacks and crackers and seven bottles of water, all in the same corner. At the other end of the backpack, there were clothes! Out of curiosity, she grabbed a pair of pants, and they were her size! Looking at the clothes folded in the corner, she had three pairs of: summer clothes, winter clothes, underwear, and two dresses, one simple, the other luxurious, all her size. She took a closer look and realized there was a note on top of her clothes: "The clothes were designed with magic, they can regenerate, the active takes 24 hours before it can be used again, and it has no additional abilities."
She wanted to see how it worked, could she play a part, and the largest would return to its original form, or is it related to dressing? Cloth bandages could be made if the torn part did not disappear.
Louise joined Gilda when she stopped seeing her abilities; she commented on mana and such a spiritual mastery. Louise took the opportunity to share her findings in the bag.
"Oh, so the clothes regenerate, they just need to be washed, which would be perfect," Gilda commented.
"I think that when they regenerate they should be clean, at least the regenerated part," Louise replied, and she added, "I was on watch, you saw your skills, now you are on watch," she said with a straight face. "Gilda can't stand confinement," she replied with a soft chuckle.
"So I'm going to keep watch, it's going to be night soon, I'm going to make fire, I'm going to try to hunt some animals." After Gilda spoke, Louise was stunned.
"Gilda, why will you go hunting?" Louise couldn't see any reason for it, what if she walked away and they got lost! She was the one who told to not to leave her side. Seeing the girl's terrified face, Gilda decided to explain.
"Tonight we'll have to stay half awake, the protection only protects those who are aware of danger." Gilda took a breath and continued, "To be honest, I think a shelter would be nice, but we don't even have fire, and the magic protection won't last forever, there are several occasions that can happen, so I think that first we have to adapt, maybe someday we'll find a civilized place, but what if they are hostile to us?" Gilda didn't want to talk about it now, but it was necessary, even though she was a child. She needed to understand the situation.
"First, I'll look at your skills; I'll look at your mana cooldown and skill consumption; and, as I said, I'll protect you," Gilda said, her eyes filled with confidence and affection.
Louise began to feel better about the situation after speaking with Gilda; because what Gilda said came out of nowhere, Louise assumed she had been thinking this way for a while.
Louise then began to see the effects of the new skills, starting with the one she questioned the most.
[Courage:
Help in complicated situations]
Isn't that too vague? Louise thought that, according to Gilda, the passive skills didn't have that much information.
[Water arrow (level 1):
A sharp water arrow is generated.
The starting mana is the same, but if modified in size, pressure, or shape, it will cost more mana
The more you level up, the more arrows or powers the arrow can acquire]
This is a nice skill, but Louise needs to control it well or she and her allies can get hurt.
[Star Oracle:
When sleeping, there are chances of being able to see a timeline]
The passives are short, and Louise thought it was an interesting ability by the name, but what is the relationship between the star and the oracle? Why does this skill have that name?
[Dreamy:
Dreams harbor answers]
A strange description, wouldn't it be another type of [stellar oracle] from the description? There must be some difference.
[Walk on water:
With an average mana consumption, one can walk on water]
Active weren't meant to be more complex, and what is this ability? Louise thought
[Quick thinking:
Reasoning: higher and faster]
This one was really useful, and it was with Louise before, now, with the added courage, it can make a nice pair of skills.
After Louise saw the skills, she approached Gilda, who managed, after a while, to produce a golden-black fire, using the pine cones to increase the fire. They ate some snacks, then agreed that one would sleep half the night and the other would keep watch. The first to keep watch was Gilda, but she didn't do what she promised; she stayed all night on patrol because she didn't want to make the child freak out even more. Regardless, she believed it would be difficult for the child, despite her ability [courage].
During the patrol, Gilda found a type of elk with leaves on its horns, except for the horn, it had all the characteristics of a moose from Earth. After the quick practice she had with some skills, Gilda wanted to test it in a more real situation, And now was perfect timing, so she hid from the moose's field of vision, summoned the gloves, and tried to use the golden lotus skill without consuming too much mana. Even with just a little mana being used, it could be noticed that her strength had increased.
The moose seems to have heard something and looks around for where it came from. When it was about to run away, it was caught by Gilda, who wrung the moose's neck until it died. After a real test of strength, she thought it was too easy to use.
So she decided to see her mana, which was at 86%, and then she watched how long it regenerated, it increased by 1% every 15 minutes. It wasn't as long as she thought; there must be some kind of mana regeneration potion in this world, she reasoned.
While Gilda was testing her limits, Louise had a vision in her dream that night.
When morning came, Louise woke up. Her face looked like someone who had doubts. Seeing this Gilda approach, as she had hunted the moose at night, there was a little blood on her clothes.
Louise lifted her head and saw the blood, as it wasn't much and Gilda wasn't hurt, she suspected that she had hunted some animal.
"Gilda, my ability, the stellar oracle, was activated while I was sleeping, in it, I saw you battling an animal that I couldn't see properly, then it went to another scene, it was the two of us, but there was one more person, the background was not visible, it looked like we were happy."
