Chereads / Mentally A Monster / Chapter 20 - 20 Trench Coat Creature

Chapter 20 - 20 Trench Coat Creature

Seeing the horrified look of Ethan's face made the tall creature smile. Their white sharp teeth, much like daggers, threatened to rip him apart. The young monster reminded them so much of a young scared child.

Wen was filled to the brim with anger. This wasn't the first time he stood up for Ethan and he was scaring himself. He didn't even know why he cared about the man. "Leave Ethan alone!"

Wen tried everything. Punches, kicks, even biting. L looked at him like he was insane, and granted, he did look crazy, especially since none of his attacks had any effect on the creature. Like a bumble bee trying to hurt a elephant.

"Aw, Humans are so cute these days." The creature turned it's head to the vicious small human. It raised it's sharp nailed hand and pinched one of Wen's cheeks. "Ah- you fu*king dog, let go!"

"Wen-" L shouted, he saw it before it even happened, a long black tail like thing came out the creatures coat. It came so fast, slapping Wen to the side. Wen got shot into the white wall with a loud crack. It was brick and so it most likely hurt Wen really bad. "But you don't know when to mind your business." The creature scowled, sounding much more like a monster than their previous smooth voice.

'He probably has a few broken ribs.' L thought, scooting over to Wen. The man was holding his side where the impact from the creatures limb connected with his body.

The creature turned it's attention back on Ethan with a smile entwined with mirth. "Dear, why are you hanging out with the humans? You could be taken much better care of if you're with those of your type."

Ethan shook his head. He kept glancing at Wen and L.

The tall creature frowned and clicked it's tounge. The young creature clearly was clueless. With the way it looked at the humans there is no way it would be baiting them. "..."

It didn't know what to do. There were so many choices. They could leave the young creature, who's name seemed to be Ethan, here. It didn't want more people to take care of anyway. Yet at the same time it didn't just want to leave the young creature with these humans who didn't know how to catalyse it properly.

Flexing their pale grey fingers, they bent down towards the man who closed his eyes and tensed up in fear. They reached a hand out and grabbed the man by the back of his collar, carring him like a cat would carry their baby, but in it's hand instead.

"What are you doing! Put him down!" Wen struggled under L's hold. L didn't want the man to move to much with broken ribs lest he puncture something... such as a lung.

"Wen, stay still!"

The creature in the trench coat ignored them and walked out the room with Ethan in tow.

"Kah-, You, stay here, don't move. I'm going to get Ethan back." L stood up and pointed at the man in an accusing manner.

"Che- you better." Wen held his side. His impact with the wall ripped the back side of his jumper almost to shreds showing red-flushed pale skin that looked like it hadn't seen the sun in years. It was scratched and bruised, the red bringing some color to the skin, showing that the internal bleeding was much worse than it looked. The pain didn't seem to bother Wen though.

L gave him one more daring look before leaving Wen to himself. He didn't trust that the man would listen to him and stay still, especially with the way he was fighting L the whole time he was trying to check him, but he had to trust him. Trust that the man would not he an absolute pain in the as* just this one time.

L walked down the hall after the monster. The creature in the trench coat walked fast, it's long legs allowed it to, making it hard for L to keep up.

He almost lost them tons of times, it was like chasing after a person who was riding a bike while you were on foot. Completely impossible unless your a camera man.

He still followed even after feeling the strain in his legs. He might have pushed himself to his limit but he made a promise, to Wen, Ethan and, most importantly himself.

Back in the deserted room, the one who had got left behind felt bored. He was shaken and confused, yes, but in retrospect, those feelings could barely overcome his boredness.

What would he do anyway even if he felt those feelings? Literally nothing. Feelings were useless to Wen. He hated to feel things, he felt like they held him back. Instead of showing fear, he'd show a blank expression. It was as if he couldn't feel fear at all and it had been replaced with something more practical.

Wen peeled the skin around his nails as he marinated in boredom. He was told not to move and so he could only sit around and look at the plain white room, There was only a cot and a chair. Nothing else.

The room was designed this way to make the patients feel safe, it was ment to make the room feel light and wide. It had the opposite effect sadly. Most of the time, it felt lonely. The walls were thick and so it was hard to hear what was happening outside. The only time you could hear something was through the door when someone was screaming at the top of their lungs. This made the people confined in these rooms grow more insane than they were before.

Repetition scares people, but the void scares people even more.

Wen drummed his fingers on his thighs as he waited. For some reason, he felt dissapointed. The fun always happened to the other two while Wen was left to bite their dust. He always missed out.

His wish came true because at that moment the door opened and in stepped the monster that had attacked the Lab two days ago. His eye's shown in hope that L had come back with the mini man but was quickly extinguished at the sight of a monster.

'Fu*k, L didn't lock the door...'

"Hello~" The mangled creature croaked, it's single glowing yellow eye shaped into a hate filled cresent. "Do you remember me? Because I sure do remember you."
