L sighed and didn't say anything, instead he sat down next to Wen and looked at the damage. His lips drew into a thin line, "You made it worst. Try not to move so much, I think you pierced something but I can't really right now."
Wen shrugged and looked over to the others. "Do we have a plan to get out of here or will we live in a staircase?"
Ethan looked up, he was laying on the floor upside-down with his legs up against the wall. He looked like he wanted to say something but he couldn't speak again. Instead he tugged L's sleeve and pointed to his eye.
"?" The three conveyed equal confusion yet Alishka's face showed more amusment than confusion. L reluctantly spoke up first, "Is... Is your eye hurting?"
Ethan rolled his eyes before pointing at Alishka then back at his eye causing Alishka's almost nonexistent eyebrows to raise. Wen tilted his head and squinted at Alishka, "What about them?"
Ethan banged his head on the floor in exasperation, leaving a pale yellow splotch of blood on the concrete floor. It startled L who looked back at Ethan in concern. Ethan continued to dramatically point at his eye. "I think this is a game of charades." Alishka mused while watching Ethan flail around. He looked like a disabled fish.
Ethan pinched the bridge of his nose before grabbing a knife out of a strap tied to L's thigh. L went to take the knife back but Ethan slapped his hand before pointing the knife at Wen then branishing it in Alishka's direction. "What the fu*k." Wen cocked his head to the side as L rubbed his hurt hand.
A whine noise escaped from Ethans mouth before a loud "Oh~" sounded in the room. Everyone looked at the one who made the noise with expectant gazes. It was L and he began to explain for them, "He meant that their eyes might be the weakness. Because their skin can't be peirced but their eyes can."
"Oh~" Wen nodded his head. "...I still don't get it.
"Remember how you stabbed that dude in the eye and it harmed them but everything else we did to Ethan didn't? Well that means it's a likely weak point for them." L got more in depth.
"You don't need to understand, you just need to stab them in the eye." Alishka lightly kicked Wen's foot after seeing confusion still etched in Wen's features. They didn't want the man to dig to much into this matter either, it was already enough that they found a weakness that could kill them and it would only a matter of time before they find an easier way to kill them off.
Wen bobbed his head. "Yeah, I can do that."
L rolled his eyes at Alishka, he was trying to make it extremely evident that he didn't like the creature yet his efforts went ignored. Wen stood up and walked down the steps. "So... why can't we just sneak out the first floor?"
"There's a monster guarding there as well. It has way to many eyes for us to be able to get them all." L stood up and followed Wen after picking up Ethan. Alishka followed right next to Wen before L could, earning the monster a glare. L continued what he was saying, "It wouldn't be logical to try and fight it just for escape."
The group fell into silence as they continued to descend down the stairs. It couldn't be called a peaceful silence, though, because Alishka and L were still making the room stuffy with their bickering.
"Do guns work on you guys?"
"Why would I answer that?" Alishka questioned while ducking down the stairs. They were the tallest in the group and quickly cramped the staircase with their size. The staircase wasn't that small but it wasn't large either, forcing Alishka to walk behind Wen while walking down. It completely blocked L's veiw of the injured young man.
"Just answer it." L scowled.
"Fine, guns do work a little more than a sharp object but the force that it will come back at you with isn't pretty." Alishka waved their hand in the air while expressing they details they knew. "It's like biting metal. It will dent the metal but it will leave your teeth feeling all weird."
L frowned and thought about it. "So the best choice is to trick them and get them to untense before going in for the kill."
It came out sounding more like a question so Alishka answered the man. "It will be hard to trick them. Plus they are always tense, that's why your little friend there is basically paralyzed."
Ethan sniffed at the monsters words and tried to relax his body but he couldn't. He felt as stiff as a zombie. Wen poked his head from behind a corner. "I thought it was because his body was cold."
"The blood is more dense. It moves slower than normal blood regulation, so I can assume it creates less heat making him come off as colder." L said, he had seen how it reacted in the lab and, with a pause in his steps, soon realized that he left his notes in that room. Hanging his head back, he let a string of curses run through his mind. Now he would have to write it all over again as he didn't feel like going back.
Alishka busted out laughing, it was a crisp cackle that startled the whole group.
"What are you a scientist?" Alishka said through chuckles before patting L on the shoulder. "I mean you do look like one."
L shot Alishka a bitter smile before removing the creatures hand. "I like to call myself a doctor. Do you know what that is?"
Alishka's smile turned upside down and they went to catch up with Wen. "Aiyah, you are no fun."
"Aren't doctors scientists?" Wen spoke up and looked up at the two who were quarelling.
"Kinda." L said with a shrug. "Most doctors just help patients with already found data while scientists conduct experiments and analyse reactions to produce data."
"Stop speaking with big words, you're scaring me."
L rolled his eyes. 'They weren't even that complex though.' "They are more hands on when it comes to seeing how things work, while doctors just use what they find to help people heal." L explained again.
"So your denying being a scientist, why? Isn't that what you were doing the past few days? Looking at things and putting blood in sus liquid. It sounds pretty cool, too." Wen's voice came out whispy with wonder. Alishka's eyes narrowed when they heard Wen talk about blood and sus liquid. They couldn't help but wonder that the group was actually doing.
"You know what else sounds cool? Your mouth, closed." The words produced a huffing laughter like sound to escape from Alishka's mouth. They could hear the strain in L's voice as he tried to keep his cool. Seeing Wen's pout L opened his mouth again, holding back the urge to massage his temple. "Sorry."
Wen huffed and turned around to continued walking. They finally all stopped following Wen and realized that they had no idea where they were going. Wen soon noticed and turned back around. "Why'd you guys stop?"
"... Where are you going?" L raised an eyebrow.
Wen answered with a shrug. Alishka shot back, "Then why are we following you?!?"
"How would I know!?!" Wen threw his hands up. "I was just walking, I have no idea why you guys were following-"
Wen's words were cut off by a loud metalic scratching sound from upstairs. The sound vibrated through the air and the three group members paused their bickering to look up the grey dreary stairs.
