Chapter 5 - (5) Apology

"Fujisato-san, the girl I bumped into, yesterday." Sora said, with additional context. "Will you... Let me see her after school?" He finally asked Konan of his long waited favour as he nervously stuttered.

"Ohh! You're not even gonna ask her name?" Konan questioned as she played a strand of her hair. "I will ask her myself." Sora straightforwardly answered her. "Well, then. I'll see if she's free." Konan accepted the request as she happily walked away.

"Ah, there she goes..." Sora sighed as he felt relieved, his worries went away just like that. As if he had been holding them for a long time.

The class was noisy. Many were enjoying their times socializing. Their voices were heard outside while the atmosphere was coated with great accompaniment of the students attendancy. Sora sat still on his desk alone. Gazing through the nearest window. He then shook his head. Having inner and unreal expectations of his next and requested meeting with Miyuki Shirosaki.

Sora continued to take his time proceeding to stare at the scenery outside. Where cherry blossom trees were slowly rustling while it's petals fell down.

That was where he saw it. A sight of two people happily interacting with each other. A sight of both of his friends, Hideyoshi and Aishi idling with each other as they walked together. Like a romantic couple outside, but remained only friends in heart. Sora quoted.

"Hehe. There they are." Sora grinned as he silently laughed. Taking his last bite of his sandwich before finishing.

The resting period was over. Everyone were already on their seats, waiting for the next teacher as Hideyoshi and Aishi awkwardly came back as they sat on their respective desks.

The history lesson started, the information needed to memorize, the words, the methods needed to learn. The scoldings needed to be heard. Sora's mind was clogged as he went into the next page of his reading session.

Mathematics wasn't too bad, either. The topic started with the teachings of geometry. The lesson began it's course with trigonometry. A subject both Sora and Aishi would enjoy. They continued to learn more throughout the lessons as Hideyoshi struggled, but still kept on track.

School had ended, there. Around 3:15 P.M, the bell rang once again. As if it was the sound that made thousands of students smile, like the sound of freedom despite it's annoying tune.

Nervousness, anxious. That was all Sora would feel at the end of school as he packed up his belongings. "Ah... I forgot to tell her where we should meet up..." Sora said in realization, feeling regret later on.

They were at the school entrance and stood there while many had already left the school building, while a few decided to stay. "Oh? You're not coming?" Hideyoshi asked. "Well, not now." Sora answered. "I have something going on." He explained his reason.

"Oh. I... I don't know what that is. But, have fun." Hideyoshi accepted as he puts his right palm on Sora's left shoulder.

"We'll see you later, Sora-kun!'

"Goodbye."

"See ya."

The three friends said their farewells as they part.

"Uh, hello?" A brunette, who happened to be wandering around. Miyuki was standing there, holding her bag as she stared at Sora.

"Oh. Hello..."

"Hey, umm..."

Eye contact was unintentionally made as the awkward silence remained. As if they were the only ones left in the school building.

The rustling leaves were heard and the sun was nowhere to be found as the sky was covered by the unsolitary clouds.

"D-do you have time to spare? I... Kinda need to talk." Sora asked if Miyuki was busy.

"I'm not busy." Miyuki answered. "So, umm... Why did you called me here?" She asked as they walked, leaving the school entrance.

"I wanted to apologize about yesterday." Sora admitted. "I should've not been careless in investigating such belongings I wouldn't know. Even without the intention to do so." He rubbed his hair as he continued.

"No, no. I'm the one who's supposed to be apologizing, here." Miyuki tried to put the fault into her own hands. "I was aggressive towards you, I'm so sorry." She apologized.

"It's no one's fault, then." Sora said. "But it's okay." The violence was ignored. The apology was accepted as the good times were valued. "Okay..." Miyuki nodded.

"So, uh. What's your name?" Miyuki asked. "Sora, Sora Shimazaki." Sora shared his full name.

"I'm Shirosaki Miyuki." She introduced herself. "You may address me as Shirosaki."

"Shirosaki Miyuki..."

"Shimazaki Sora..."

They silently said and slowly smiled. "It is nice to meet you." Sora said as he gave out his hand, waiting and expecting for a shake.

"Hmm... It's nice to meet you, too." Miyuki proceeded to shake Sora's hand, feeling each other's warmth as the comfort kicked in, despite not knowing each other very well.

"Hehe. I wonder what he's up to, that Sora." Aishi wondered back while walking home with Hideyoshi.

"Ah, that guy had always been making our jaws drop. At this point I wouldn't be too surprised if that happened again." Hideyoshi laughed as Aishi giggled.

"Can I have your number?" Miyuki asked. "Eh? To a person you've just met?" Sora reacted with a surprised face.

"Of course! You're my friend now." Miyuki revealed and admitted of her official friendship with Sora. "Eh, you really do act quite differently, than our first impression yesterday." Sora drily commented.

"EH!? You want me to bring my old attitude back with me?!" Miyuki exclaimed as he tried to calm her down, afterwards. "Ah! Saki-san. It's not like that. It's ju-"

"WELL! Don't mind me acting like this way, yes?" Her mood completely changed. "It's not like you'll be seeing this everyday, after all." Her soothing voice reached out to him.

"Alright, alright." Sora came back smiling as he slowly nodded.

They stopped as Sora tried to face to the other direction. "Oh. My place is right there." He pointed on his right, they were near to Sora's household. "It's not far away from here. You can go now."

The clouds from the sky were grey as if they were packed together and drops of rain were seen and heard. Noticed by the two students.

"It's about to rain..." Said Miyuki, getting ready to sprint and run towards her house, before the rain would even start. "Wait!" Sora stopped her as he managed to grab Miyuki's arm.

"Huh?"

"I have an umbrella in my house, you can return it tomorrow."

"But... Will that be okay?"

"It will be fine."

Sora speed-walked as their hands were met in contact, once again. They then rushed to his house as rain began to fall and pelt.

The door opened with a creaking sound. "I'm home." Sora greeted as he lets go of Miyuki's hand.
