Chapter 9 - (9) Accompaniment

The door opened as the wind breezed through the silent air. The clouds remained solitary, while the scorching sun rose high.

Her lungs took a deep breath. Miyuki tried to remain calm, not until she felt a sudden pain from her feet. As if she stubbed her toe from a wooden table. She held on to the sudden pain. Contemplating towards where she could have gotten it from. She knocked on the door, hoping for someone to reach out to her.

The door opened as she made her second knock.

"Oh...? Hello there. You must be...?"

"M-miyuki... I'm Miyuki."

An adult woman appeared behind the front door. She seemed to be in her thirties. Her slim build was coated with a dark green sweater with brown shorts. While her soothing voice reached out like an angel who opened the gateway to heaven. Miyuki did not know what to feel nor say next. Who is that woman? And what is this special aura lingering around her? She analyzed, when their brown eyes met in plain sight, for the first time.

"Hmm... Did you come into the wrong household, Miyuki-san?" The woman asked in a polite manner. "Oh! Well... Maybe not. Not if you, by any chance, recognize this umbrella?" She handed out the black umbrella, with a nervous expression.

"T-there was a boy who lives here, this tall?" She stated as she raised her hand higher. "He once brought me here yesterday, because it was raining. That was when this umbrella was given to me for temporary use." Miyuki explained.

Ichika's memory sparked like that of a firework. As if she had heard of a familiar case. Her eyes were wide open, and so did her recalled memory.

"Now, now. At least tell me of this boy's name."

"Sora... Shimazaki Sora."

Ichika smiled.

"Ah... You must be one of my son's friends?"

"Yes...! Wait... Son?"

Ichika smiled as Miyuki was conquered with surprise. She didn't know what to do next, other than to feel the relief of finding somewhere, nor someone she had looked for.

"Well... Please, take this." She handed out the black umbrella. "It was not mine to begin with, anyways."

"Thank you, Shirosaki-chan" Ichika's gratitude was shown clearly. Even for a simple task such as returning a belonging, means millions worth more to her.

"I-it's no big deal at all...!" She responded. "So, uh... I'll be taking my leave now." She lowered her head.

"Have a good morning, Miyuki-san."

"Have a good morning."

Ichika closed the door as Miyuki headed off as a carefree bird. She was relieved at last. Ichika placed the black umbrella back into Sora's room.

"E-eh? Mum? Since when did you get that umbrella?"

"Just now. By a certain young woman, named... Miyuki?"

Sora's eyes were wide open, just by hearing those sudden news. As if he was one to be both shocked and terrified. But in his heart remained that of a relieved man.

He realized that he couldn't show his gratitude to her. Even though his mother had already thanked and dismissed her. Ichika left the room without a word, leaving Sora in his room, alone.

"Thank you, Miyuki." The grateful Sora quietly thanked her, as if the two students' eyes met one another again.

Sora checked up on his phone. "Oh!" He made a surprised face.

"The library should be around here."

"I just needed to be accompanied, sorry for the inconvenience, Hideyoshi."

"It's okay. You don't have to feel bad. Besides, I wouldn't mind accompanying you, Aishi."

The two teenagers glanced at both directions, searching for incoming vehicles as they crossed the road carefully, once the pedestrian traffic light turned green.

The door quietly opened. Hideyoshi tried not to make a sound. The librarian was at the counter, minding her own business as she caught a glimpse of the two teenagers, without intention. She nodded slowly and wiped her glasses as she proceeded back towards her own business.

Hideyoshi sat at a nearby table while Aishi searched for a very specific novel. A novel she once discussed yesterday. The romance novel had completely made her eyes wide open. Like a pirate discovering an ancient, luxurious treasure that was marked on a treasure map.

She sat next to Hideyoshi and placed the novel on the table. She took several, but slow breaths, afterwards.

"Ooo... What do we have here?" He whispered as he analyzed the small book.

"It's just a short romance novel. I'm glad that it's still here." Aishi made a small giggle out of relief as she flipped to the first page.

"You can leave if you want... If that's what you wanna do."

"It's okay. I'll still keep you company."

"Is that okay?"

"Hey, come on now. It's okay. You don't have to worry about me."

"Then... Stay with me." She made a bright smile. Surprising even towards the likes of Hideyoshi. He blushed, pretending his red cheeks were never seen.

"Gah... Alright, alright. Now, let's see what this story brings us." He shook his head and held the book, along with Aishi.

They remained like two quiet birds on a wire. One tried to flip a page while the other was still reading. Aishi waited patiently for him to finish reading the very smooth pages.

Having each other's lives tied like voodoo dolls may sound quite troublesome, what an interesting plot. Hideyoshi thought inside as he proceeded on his reading session.

"Haruto! The ball! Pass it over here!" The striker was ordered by his captain. "Agh, stop giving me orders!" Haruto Akira exclaimed, but he passed it, either way.

The players went wild on the field, and so did their burning passion in football. Like the gladiators in a colosseum, nor soldiers in war.

"Everything is going as planned." The captain, Touma Daisuke smiled as he rushed to the goal net.

The Narukami team's defenders were in heat, just right after he made direct contact with the ball and made them chase like a flock of birds.

His speed and agility was barely matched by them. The Nakayama team was on the lead... And he shoots! "Rah!!" He roared and took the final battlecry. The ball was flawlessly shot straight to the goal as the goal keeper fell down.

The Nakayama team emerged victorious, they claimed their victory as many cheered on to the beloved captain. "Damn it..." The captain of the Narukami team, Yuuta Yugi was exhausted after releasing his last bits of energy to the soccer field. His body lowered down

"Yo! Good game." Daisuke reached out his hand to Yuuta, as a sign of their strong rivalry and respect towards one another. "Heh, you too." Yuuta grabs his rough hand as he smiles alongside Daisuke.
