The living room was cold. Colder than ice. Miyuki shivered. As her eyes met the cold stare of her intimidating mother. She looked down in both embarrassment and fear as she prayed for the best, inside.
"A friend?" Her expression changed as Hana crossed her arms, in a calm manner. "Y-yes." Miyuki stuttered, nervously while she faced her mother. "Nothing other than that." She looked down once more.
"Alright, then... You're dismissed." Just as simple as that, Her response was accepted. Despite her intimidating and frightening personality. She expected in the end that all of this would come into an unpleasant fate. Miyuki was utterly surprised in heart as she felt the pinnacle of longing relief.
"O-okay..." Miyuki raised her head while she slowly nodded as she tried to get up. "Please, don't go to that part, yet. You're still young." Hana advised, right before Miyuki was about to make her first step to the stairs. "I... I know." Miyuki stopped whilst she reminded her. "You can go now." Hana dismissed her as they both went towards their respective rooms in complete silence.
Miyuki sighed. As she rubbed her chest. She then went inside her room, carrying her heavy bag, afterwards.
The rain stopped while the sky became quite vast. Solitary clouds were scattered throughout the wide, blue sky as they began to soar away. But, just as the times of light returns. A tear was shed. As if the rain poured and pelted down it's last drop. Miyuki noticed, as she had a quick glance of the beautiful scenery outside, she sat on her chair.
She wept her cheeks. Only to shed another one in the end. Miyuki decided to let it stay that way. Despite of how efficient it can swell her eyelids.
The umbrella was not with her, she realized. Miyuki took her time as she headed down the stairs while wiping out her tears and went back inside her room. With Shimazaki's umbrella on her hand. She was relieved, once more. Relieved towards the fact that the umbrella didn't vanished like an eraser of a student's pencil case. Nor small headphones in a messy, unorganized room.
"Thank you. Shimazaki-san." Miyuki puts her hand at the canopy while she continued to observe the black umbrella.
"What a crybaby."
"You're so boring."
"Can't you just catch up to our own interests?"
"Ah, yes. The embodiment of annoyance. That's you."
The four silhouettes were backing off from the poor child. As if she was a hated monster to them. They walked away, as each one disappeared without a trace. "W-wait!" Miyuki tried to reach out. But, nobody came.
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry! Please, don't leave me!" Miyuki broke down as she was bursting out overflowing emotions and tears. She whimpered.
"It's not your fault." A soothing, familiar voice echoed through the whole place inside her head. "Get up. Let's go." He handed out his hand. Miyuki tried to look at him while she rubbed her watery eyes. Only to find out that a faceless individual reached out to her grasp.
She gasped and was awakened from her heavy slumber at her desk. The sunset finally met the grounds of the earth as it slowly sank below the horizon. Miyuki knew that dusk had finally fell down to the ashes of the earth, she immediately got up. Stretching her body after such a nice nap, afterwards. Despite having a nightmare, which turned out to be a dream full of bliss and relief.
Her mother opened the door. As she had the intent to meet her daughter, she smiled. "Good afternoon, Miyuki." Hana patted her head. "Are you doing well? How was your temporary nap?"
"Hahaha... I'm doing okay, mum." She held and touched her mother's arm, on top of her head. Whilst making a cute giggle.
"That's great... I'll be preparing for dinner, now. What would you like for tonight?" Hana asked as she stopped patting her.
"A-anything is fine." Miyuki stuttered, whilst she avoided eye contact. "Oh? Is that so?" Hana let out a small grin, as if she was about to laugh. She covered her smile.
"Well, then. I'll be preparing it, now." Hana happily left. "Wait... Wait! I'm coming too!" Miyuki quickly followed her.
She then felt a sudden pain, later on, as she exit her room. As if she burnt her index finger, she quickly noticed. "Ouch..." Miyuki held her finger while she blew air towards it. Hoping if the burn goes away by itself. She continued to follow her mother to the kitchen.
"Ack!" Sora shrieked in agonizing pain. "Ouch! I wasn't careful..." He proceeded to blow air as he bit his index finger, later on.
He puts the iron away as he turned off its switch while he temporarily rests in comfortable ease, he sighed.
He took a quick glance of an old portrait at his desk. Sora proceeded to hold it while he continuously observed the picture.
"Hmm... I wonder how you all are doing now, you guys." Sora smiled, as he puts back the old portrait at his desk.
The picture represents of an old group of his club members in middle school. An optimistic and happy group that made the whole world cheer with beautiful and lovely tunes as many sang a variety of songs to pick. Sora reminisced.
Happy memories
Are to be remembered nor
To be forgotten
Once we're back to the present
Will we proceed to make more.
"Sora...? Are you doing alright?" His mother, Ichika. Knocks the door. "I'm coming inside." She opened the door as her soothing, soft voice reached out.
"Oh, hello. I'm doing alright." Sora answered. "Why so sudden?" He asked. "I heard you were shrieking, out of nowhere. I thought something terrible happened to you. So I came here." Ichika briefly explained.
"Well, I'm doing alright."
"Oh, are you?"
"Y-yeah... It's nothing, really."
"Hmm..."
She took his right hand as she observed Sora's pale, skinny fingers. "Ah... So that's why." Ichika said. "It's nothing... A small burn won't stop me." Sora tries to hide away the pain.
"Ha!" She pinched his cheek. "Ack! Not again...!" Sora agonized once more. "Sora. I've took care of you ever since you were a only a fetus." She reminded. "So, don't lie to your mama like that. Run some water on the wound. Hurry up." Ichika continued as she stopped pinching him. "Aaaa... I know! I know! I'll go, I'll be going now. Thanks." He immediately left his room and went inside the bathroom.
"That's better." She sat on his mattress in relief, later on. While she waited for his son to come out of the bathroom.
