Very early the following morning, a beautiful melody of a harp was heard from Kissa's quarters. Kissa sat on her balcony looking at the pyramids as she played.
Her hair was packed up and few strands were loose, making it look messy which fitted her perfectly.
Soon she got carried away with the sound of the harp and she didn't notice the eye of Horus and eye of Ra around her eyes were shining already.
"Kissa watch out…"
"Promise me you'll be a good girl. Here take this necklace, It'll help you in future…"
"Aunt…"
Kissa shot her eyes open and she noticed she was stiff already. With a painful groan, she fred herself and got up on her feet.
"Greetings to you Lady Kissa." Lapis caught her attention and Kissa looked at her with a raised brow. "Pharaoh asked me to inform you that there would be a party tonight."
"A party?" Kissa pinched the area between her eyebrows. "I wasn't told. What is he celebrating?"
"The men came back victorious, Lady Kissa." Lapis replied and Kissa nodded before sitting on her bed.
"Alright then." Kissa said gently as she laid on her back.
"You should go to the bath house today Lady Kissa, you need it to refresh your body." Lapis suggested.
"I am relaxed but thank you for your suggestions." Kissa replied as she covered her face with the back of her palms.
"Yes Lady Kissa." Lapis bowed before walking out of the room.
"Will you go to the bath house Lady Kissa?" One of her maids asked her and she seemed to be thinking about it.
Not even the Pharaoh's concubines were allowed into the bath house. They had a way to get all that was provided there in the concubines quarters but it wasn't as good as the bath house.
Kissa has always wondered what it was like there and this was her chance. "Yes."
"We should get going then Lady Kissa." They both said and she nodded before standing up.
The walk to the bath house was quite a long one but the beautiful sight didn't make her bother about the long walk.
Pharaoh's palace was the largest so far in the history of all the Pharaohs that had ruled Suma. He was dominant and feared by all and with the help of his sorceress, Kissa, he was even feared more.
"We're here Lady Kissa." They announced and Kissa looked up at the bath house. It was two storeys tall with the large stairs leading to the second floor.
"What's on the first floor?" Cleopatra asked as they walked up the stairs.
"The bath house is a two-storey building made of natural stone. The first floor is designed for steam production." One of the maids explained.
"So on the second floor, you can lie on warmed-up steam, stone beds and get a therapeutic massage with therapeutic ointments." The other maid continued.
The maids at the large Golden door leading into the bath house pulled it open and the trio stepped in.
"Welcome, Lady Kissa." One of the maids there bowed and Kissa half smiled at her.
"Please follow me Lady Kissa." She said as they walked down the passage to a large room with a bathtub in the middle of the room.
"You'll be taking your bath here before going to the steam room Lady Kissa."
After a torturing bath for her, it was torturing because she preferred bathing by herself but she was helped here, they led her into the steam room.
Like other parts of the bath house, it was large and beautiful. In the middle of the floor was a hole through which hot steam came from the lower floor.
"This can't be that bad." Kissa groaned as she laid on the bed for a massage.
She had to admit that it was refreshing and all her muscles were relaxed already.
On the other side of the palace, in the concubines quarters, a maid rushed into one of the concubines' rooms and fell on her knees.
"Lady Sara, I have news on Lady Kissa." The maid said gently.
Slight movements were heard from the bed that was covered with net curtains. A pair of radiant white skinned legs stretched out of the curtains and a young lady in her early twenties probably stood from the bed.
"It better be worth waking me up from my beauty sleep Akila." The lady, Sara, yawned.
She was the same concubine who had greeted Kissa the previous day on her way back from the Pharaoh's quarters.
"Lady Kissa went to the bath house which all concubines were restricted from. And Pharaoh is taking her to the party he is holding tonight while he asks the others to stay back in the quarters." The maid, Akila reported, making Sara's once dull face darken with rage and hatred.
"Why does it always have to be her? Any of the concubines who try to escape, Pharaoh kills them but she has tried countless times and he makes her live." Sara clenched her fists angrily.
"He never appreciates anything I do. All he sees is her. I'm sick and tired of this rubbish." Sara thundered. "I'll stop at nothing, I'll make sure she meets her end."
