"I appreciate you all for coming here to celebrate my sixth victory this year." Pharaoh Asim smirked as he took the goblet on the small table next to his throne.
"I'm sure there'll be lovers and haters amongst you because I set the record of conquering six kingdoms before the end of the year which you all have never done."
Kissa tried so hard not to facepalm right there. She just played with her fingers with her head still bowed.
"You can all take your seats." Asim smirked wickedly as he sat on his throne. Everyone else sat on their pillows except Kissa who was still waiting for his order. "You too Kissa."
Kissa settled gently on the pillow next to his throne as her gaze swept across the hall.
"Congratulations on your victory Asim." A man walked towards the throne with some maids carrying golden boxes behind him.
"Thank you for your well wishes Aten." Asim smiled wickedly. "You should guard the gates to your kingdoms well or you'll become history soon."
"Oh you make me laugh, Asim. You won't want to wage war against your future wife's kingdom would you." The man, Aten replied.
"I won't mind doing that if you get on my bad side." Asim replied as he sipped from his goblet.
Kissa listened as they kept on talking about the marriage of Aten's daughter and Asim. Kissa knew that sooner or later, he'll wage war on Aten's kingdom.
Asim was power thirsty and he does all his alliance things for a reason or the other. Either for their resources or another thing.
"So where is your daughter Aten?" Asim asked with a raised brow and Aten nodded.
The main door was pulled open and all attention was drawn to the door. A young lady in her early twenties or so stood at the entrance with two maids behind her.
She was dressed in Suma's most expensive linen dress and a silver belt with Suma's crest printed on it. Her hair was covered with a veil which revealed only little of the silver usek around her neck.
She walked towards Aten and stood beside him before falling on her knees and bowing to Asim. "This is my beauty, Asim." Aten smiled pridefully
"What is your name, maiden?" Asim asked with a raised brow, sipping from his goblet.
"Nubia, Pharaoh." She replied with her head still bowed.
"Gold. Interesting." Asim nodded and Kissa stood up. She walked down the stairs to where Nubia knelt and lifted her up with her head bowed.
The eye of Horus and eye of Ra around Kissa's eyes shone gently as she held her hand.
Kissa met herself in a dark room where Nubia was sitting in a pool of her own blood. Asim was standing not far from her with a whip with him.
"Her death…"
"Her rebirth…"
Kissa shot her eyes open with her hands shivering slightly. That wasn't the first time she was seeing that date for his concubines, but this was more scary.
"Then she shall be my concubine Aten." Asim stood up from his throne and pulled Kissa away from Nubia. "You can both say your final goodbyes."
"I should be able to reach her when needed." Aten said as he ran his hands down the veil on her head and kissed his hands.
"No you won't unless she is lucky to be around when you visit." Asim replied as he looked at Kissa who silently walked back to sit down. "Take her away."
Some maids rushed forward to lead her out of the hall. "Thank you for marrying my daughter Asim." Aten bowed as Asim returned to his throne.
"No need to be thankful, Aten." Asim replied as he sipped on from his goblet.
Kissa who was waving her staff gently sensed a familiar aura. The aura she wouldn't miss for the world.
She swept her gaze around the hall until it settled at a corner where a man wearing a cloak stood. He was looking in her direction and she felt the aura coming from the side he was standing.
"I would like to excuse myself for a few minutes to get a drink, Pharaoh." Kissa bowed as she stood up.
The man at that corner saw her and rushed towards the other entrance. Asim didn't even notice Kissa leave because he was speaking to a man.
Kissa pulled on her veil well as she rushed towards the direction the cloaked man went to. She saw him at the end of the passage leading to the pond at the other end of the entrance.
Kissa half ran towards the end of the passage to catch up with him but she couldn't find anyone when she got there.
"He left?" Kissa frowned. "I missed him again."
"Looks like Pharaoh didn't teach his little cat to stay where he is." The same voice she was expecting said from behind.
