"Artoria I don't think I can last much longer. With the amount of prana I have been using at my output, I can last about five more minutes then it's kaput for me....."
Sirius was not strong physically for the people he was fighting that is why he relies on things like reinforcement and mana burst. But those things require a lot of prana, of which Sirius will soon run out of....
"Ok, just get ready, I'll make this is fast as possible."
"No. You won't."
The mana in the air suddenly buzzed with activity funneling to Iratus at an alarming rate. His body slowly started expanding growing more and more inhumane with time. Limbs, genitals, eyeballs and all sorts of bodily appendages grew out him. Clarent shot out of the monsters grip into Iratus's 'hand', it's aura being fed making it more powerful than before as the curse on the blade fed into Iratus, connecting them.
Clarent exploded with a massive black beam of magical power and coursing red veins. The very air was being infected by the cursed blades power.
"Die knowing that your last moments were pathetic."
Then with his monstrous body, Iratus lifted Clarent with all of his monstrous strength, but Artoria was sitting around like some Shonen protagonist no. She was feeding prana into Caliburn, she wasn't going to risk her and her friends lives.
"Help me one more time, Caliburn."
She smiled sadly as the sword shimmered almost in acceptance with it's owners wishes. the sword of selection, the sword that started Artoria's journey that led to her making so many friends and vassals. Caliburn would always have a special place in her heart.
It's golden glow exploding into a massive energy sword, it's aura ripping apart the confines of which Iratus put them in.
…
Outside with Artoria's armies.....
The various knights of the roundtable scurried about searching for their lord. That's when they felt the power sitting in the air and the tower broke open revealing their king with a giant glowing beam of energy in her hand and Iratus prepping a swing with the power infused Clarent.
Artoria smiled as she found her knights rushing to her air only to stop when she lifted Caliburn above her and cleaving down to meet Clarent head on.
"Please watch me. I will bring you victory! Sword of Selection, grant me power! Cleave the wicked! Caliburn"!
The clash of a cursed sword and holy sword sent a shockwave that blew most of the knights off their feet. Only Kay, Gawain, and Lancelot were able to stay up right.
Artoria and Caliburn slowly started to lose ground against Clarent and Iratus, their power growing. That's when Artoria felt a burst of prana from beside her.
"I'll back you up! Sword of Mystery, separate the unexplainable! Arcane!"
The lines on the blade glowed separating the sword into three parts, the hilt, and two one sided blades all hovering above the hilt. The opening released a red light making reality more grounded.
Instead of Arcane going after Clarent, it went after Iratus. Upon making contact the red light started to warped Iratus's body, reverting painfully. With that, he lost strength, allowing Artoria to tear him in two with Caliburn.
"AhhHhHhhhH!"
The scream made the nearby knights daze for a second. Iratus's body shrunk, his magic power being sucked out by Clarent. All that was left of the body was a bubbling ooze, without the power flooding from the cursed sword, Iratus shrunk taking in all of his subsequent injuries.
CRACK!
Caliburn broke in half after all was said in done, saddening Artoria having to put her sword to rest.
Then the ooze started to explode with growth and it became as big as a horse and continued to grow unfettered and powered by the energy that was being recycled by the cursed Clarent. Now that Clarent was gone, the energy had no where to go.
Sirius dropped the now normal Arcane and ran over to Iratus with every intention to seal this monstrosity before it can consume the soldiers.
"Can't allow him to terrorize anyone any longer."
CLAP!
Magical energy sparked from his hands and he planted them deep in the growing bubbling mess of organic matter that was left of Iratus. The transmutation slowly reformed him into an object that looked like an eldritch horror.
Deconstructing and reconstructing it continuously, hundreds, thousands of times was taxing on Sirius's already spent body. 'Can't fucking fail!'
His magic circuits flared as they started to mutate into a red color and his vision started to 'fizzle' into a new space. The space was a completely blank white, it's only occupants was a door with a tree engraving and a blank white being, only being seen by the black hazy outline.
The being grinned. "Too early~" It's voice was a mix of a child and Sirius's. "But make sure to come back soon~" The being laughed, amused at the situation.
Then he returned to him transmuting Iratus. When all was said and done, all that was left of the infamous necromancer was a box. A box that had eyes and tentacles wiggling about. Then he looked at Clarent and got an idea.
'Thank God I know some witchcraft!'
After that Sirius took Clarent into his free hand, his red mutated magical circuits leaked onto Clarent and when it made it fully up and down the blade, it started it's cleansing. When all of the curse was funneled out what was revealed was a beautiful white blade with red accents.
"What are you doing Sirius?" Artoria questioned.
"Curing a sword." Sirius stated.
The box of horrors wiggling its little tentacles as the curse that was placed on Clarent was now sealed inside of it. After all was said and done, Sirius displaced it into the bag he recently developed sealing it away.
"Ha! Not so tough now are you bitch~"
Sirius said as he dangled the bag around in front of him weakly, tired from all of the spells he was pumping out.
"....What are you gonna do with....it?"
Artoria couldn't really call whatever was left of Iratus human anymore.
Sirius shook his head with a grin. "This my dea-" Catching himself because of the surrounding army. "Will be used in my recreation of Arcane. After all it is heavily tied with death, it being necromancer and all~"
"So you used the necromancer to create a ingredient for your future mystic code?"
"Yep!"
"That's kind of sickening...."
Sirius just ignored the comment as he picked up Arcane from the ground and sheathed it on his waist and tossed the now pure Clarent to Artoria.
"Something for the future vaults of Camelot."
Artoria nodded before she watched Sirius walk off swinging his bag around like it was a toy. While Artoria was daydreaming, Merlin appeared behind her.
"Your Highness, you must visit the Lady of the Lake to get your new sword. It will help if you take Sirius with you as well."
Artoria nodded sadly as she once again lamented the loss of Caliburn.
…
"So the necromancer has been defeated?"
"Yes Lord Leodegrance, the only thing left of him is in the possession of Sir Sirius who has plans for the remains."
Leodegrance nodded. "All right with him out of the way, taking down Vortigern will much more accomplishable given our current power."
Artoria nodded and then left after the talks were over to find Sirius so they could go get the new weapon Merlin had advised her to obtain from the Lady of the Lake.
What she found was a beaten up Roundtable and Sirius who was using Bedivere's body as a chair.
"What were you thinking looking around an empty meadow for your lost king and a fellow knight, are you stupid?"
Then he turned to Gawain. "And you! Gawain, you have a blessing from the sun itself no to mention you have a sword with a pseudo sun in it, you were perfect for fighting undead where the fuck were you?!"
Gawain shook. "In the meadows sir...."
Sirius nodded then he turned to Tristan. "You.....Actually you did pretty good keep up the good work."
"Yes Sir!" Tristan nodded, happy to get out being reprimanded by the man who was known as being the strongest of the Roundtable save for Merlin.
"Seems like we have to have another training session with just us knights, that includes you Tristan, since the soldiers actually did their jobs!"
"Yes sir." This the reply came back meekly.
"Well looks like They're happy for some training. isn't that right Bedivere?"
"Yes, Sir Sirius." Bedivere said weakly as his arms started to shake from the burden of holding Sirius up.
Artoria shook her head with a smile as she watched Sirius discipline the knights. Eventually she decided to come back in the morning after the whole training was done.
...
After Sirius was done with torturing the knights he wandered off to a nearby hill bereft of human activity. He thought back to the incomplete magic spell and sighed as he looked up at the bright moon.
'It worked just fine in my experiments and yet it fizzled out when I needed it. Can't use it unless I know for sure it works.' Then he went off to bed awaiting the next day of adventure.
