Chapter 1 - prologue

1939

Well, that's what happened to me back then a long time ago, my senses were messed up, and my mind was fuzzy until I woke up to a voice.

"You pray you're a success, follow me" The old man looked at me blankly and spoke in a cold voice, but full of arrogance.

I didn't know what to do, as I had no idea where I was. I only knew that behind me were hundreds of bodies that seemed to be lying dead, forming a mountain of bodies.

I nodded, not wanting to be part of that mountain of bodies. I didn't know who that old man was or what his plans were for me, so I made the best decision.

I followed the old man through the place we were. Looking around me, I realized that the place was a huge ancient castle. Although it doesn't look the least bit degraded by time.

I looked a few times at the old man's back in an attempt to finish him behind his back. I felt insecure about doing this.

The old man's shoulders were ruled, his steps steady, however, with a lot of force in his steps and his forced walk showed a lot to me.

The old man looked fully off guard and ready to hit back any blow.

I might not be a martial arts expert. However, the little I knew showed me that this man was quite dangerous.

One of the few advantages of living in an exactly dangerous neighbourhood is that you can discover the underground danger before it gets to you.

After a few minutes of walking behind the old man, we came to a hall. The hall was huge and decorated old-fashioned, Victorian perhaps, back then I didn't pay much attention.

The old man stopped making me stop too and pointed to the centre of the room there were many ingredients I didn't know.

"This will be your workshop, you will study alchemy here for 2 years and learn to use the incomplete form of Havens Feel"

The old man looked at me coldly, but I could feel contempt in his eyes. I sighed and kept my mind calm and walked past the old man towards the table in the centre

I was an Einzbern Homunculus. Yes, I accepted that fact in the first days I arrived in this world. In the beginning, I was scared and even scared.

I gradually learned how to use my less-than-great magic circuits. I had 27 magic circuits of average quality, something pretty weak for a Homunculus.

It was also obvious that I was not a battle Homunculus. My body wasn't strong enough to even lift more than a ton, and I could run at 60 kilometres an hour.

I was at best a little stronger and faster than a human being.

Maybe my being raised with few magic circuits was a way for the Einzbern family not to let me rebel.

Gradually, fear and dread were replaced by revolt and desire to be free. At that time, I felt the pain and anger of the experiments I did with myself just to be able to control a little of the Havens Feel inside me

I overloaded my magic circuits to the point where they exploded and put in the regenerative magic of the Havens Feel fragment to heal them.

From the little I talked to old Jubstacheit in the short time he entered my workshop, I am a homunculus made to be the lesser grail and will accompany the family heir to the holy grail war.

It's a year before the war starts. I have to hurry to find a way to escape my fate.

1941

"my hand"

My hand burned like someone had put a hot iron on my skin, no, that was worse, the pain of a hot knife on the skin doesn't even compare to that.

I know this because in my past life, I had a wart on my arm and no matter what I did, it always came back until one day I got angry and pulled the wart out with my fingernail and heated a knife to the fire.

Crazy, I know. But that mole was pissing me off too much. I had no choice and made my decision to press the burning knife into the wound.

The pain was like, I felt like I was going to die. Now, the pain I felt that day was something out of this world.

I rolled around my workshop holding my hand and crying softly. My heart was racing, and my mouth was producing a lot of Spittle, causing me to start frothing at the mouth.

My moans almost turned to screams, I had to bite my tongue to keep from screaming.

Gradually the pain started to lessen causing my moaning to also subside and in a short time, I was able to get up and look at my hand that had a tattoo in the shape of a wolf.

"Command seal"

My mouth opened and I almost started laughing. Was I chosen by the Grail as a master? Haha, ha. Didn't expect this.

I will survive this world.

---

one month later

In the main room of the Von Einzbern castle in Germany, a group of 5 people were standing in front of an old man who had a stern look.

The old man looked at the crowd that was nervously in front of him, and the old man closed his eyes in disdain at the weak attitude of his relatives.

"We will have a change of plans, The homunculus designed to be the lesser Grail will participate in the war as a master" He puffed out his defined, powerful chest and spoke.

The old man's voice sounded like a roar that made most of the family members cringe but one person.

A woman in the crowd stepped forward to get everyone's attention. She had blond hair and violet-blue eyes. Her appearance was beautiful and delicate.

But, the frown on her face showed that she was a person of few words. Her steps were elegant, and her waist moved gracefully with every step she took.

She took a breath as she appeared in front of the Old man and looked into his eyes with a clear intention of defiance and said with a snarl of disapproval, "why should we trust a Homunculus? They are only tools for our family"

The old man looked down angrily in his eyes and for a single second the woman shuddered as she met the old man's eyes, and she began to breathe more heavily. It was like something pushing her down.

However, she didn't take a single step back or even let herself be defeated by the force pushing her down.

The old man let out a mocking little laugh and his eyes turned to the other members of the family, who turned pale just at his gaze. He spoke with an irritated laugh. "At least this generation is not lost, but I won't let anyone tell me what to do"

He then turned his eyes to the woman once more and took a step towards her. When he got in front of her, he put his hand around the woman's neck.

She stepped back to get out of the old man's grasp, but, it was too late, the old man squeezed her neck and lifted her. The woman started to gasp as she desperately kicked the surrounding air.

Gradually she lost her strength and the old man laughed and said, "you don't even have enough strength to run away from me and still dare to challenge me? Don't be an arrogant brat, if I said that the homunculus will participate as a master, it is because he will participate, do we understand?"

The woman who had started to turn purple nodded her head desperately and the old man snorted before throwing her to the ground, making her fall on her ass and start coughing while holding her throat.

The woman who had started to turn purple nodded her head desperately and the old man snorted before throwing her to the ground, making her fall on her ass and start coughing while holding her throat.

The old man looked at her in disgust and smacked his tongue and twitched his face and said, "Not even proud to die for your decision. Bunch of cowards. Justeaze Where did I go wrong with this family?"

The old man clapped his hand to his head and left the room with a grimace of disgust, leaving all the disciples of the Von Einzbern family completely shocked and frightened by the attitude of the head of the family

Right after going through his last reinforcement training on his magic circuits, he walked out of his workshop for the first time in 2 years.

The castle was still completely dimly lit. He looked around and saw a very beautiful woman being escorted by combat homunculi. She had no makeup on her face and wore a red designer dress like she was going to a gala party.

"Hump, a mere Homunculus getting a place in the family, I don't know what that damn old man is thinking, number 1 and number 2 of a lesson on him" the woman's voice was full of arrogance and her face was turned upside down with a tone of superiority.

He widened his eyes at the woman's words and looked at his homunculus sisters uncertainly and saw in their almost lifeless red eyes a faint glint of sadness as one of the homunculi nodded and advanced towards him.

He felt a sharp pain in his stoma, and then he was thrown against the wall. Furthermore, he gasped in pain and began to cough as he ran down the wall, almost losing consciousness.

"Hump, this is for you to learn your filthy doll place" The woman huffed looking at him with disdain and turned around leaving the room.

Cough, cough.

A grimace and a hate-filled look formed as he watched the woman leave. "Damn spoiled brat, I will eventually be powerful and make you suffer" He wiped the drool that came out of his mouth on impact and staggered to his feet.

He with a cruel smile walked through the palace. He had just found a motivation to gain more power. From the beginning, he was reluctant to go after power, because he had no reason to.

He let out a scream of fury and slammed his fist into the wall with all his strength. The wall cracked on impact and red blood began to spurt from his fist. "That sow, no, these pigs in this family will pay me with their souls and lives" an angry roar came out of his mouth and he looked down at his fist with a grimace.

His fist started to glow and quickly healed after a few seconds. It had been a long time since he felt this kind of desire for destruction inside him. Maybe being a homunculus makes the worst of it.

He calmed down and continued walking through the castle corridors until he reached the main hall, where the old man was standing in front of a brown-haired boy who had a pale face full of fear.

He laughed as he took in the scene. It was comforting for him and even more when he noticed the command seal on the boy's hand, "so this will be the number one representative of the Einzbern? It looks like it will be easier than I imagined hahaha" He narrowed his eyes at the boy's back thinking about a thousand ways to kill him.

He stopped his bloodlust when the old man looked at him. Taking a step forward, pretending not to have emotions, he stood in front of the old man looking to the beyond and getting annoyed with the look of contempt the boy was giving him.

The old man studied him for a few seconds and took a piece of old scythe from his clothes then snapped "you nameless homunculus from now on will be, Alecsviel Von Einzbern and here is the catalyst, summon your servant soon"

He now called Alecsviel, nodded and looked at the catalyst. His eyes quickly caught the presence of magic in the scythe.

It was a magic weapon, and it was linked to some ancient hero which, he didn't know what, it was.

Alecsviel quickly took the scythe from the old man's hand and left the room as quickly as possible so as not to stay to watch Angra Mainyun's summons. After all, it wouldn't be good if all the evil in the world recognized it.

Upon arriving at his workshop, he slit his wrist and made a small magic circle by placing the scythe inside it. Alecsviel took a deep breath and held his left wrist to where the command seal was with his right hand. He then began to sing after tossing in some small chicken bones and slitting his wrist once more letting his blood fall onto the bones, "Silver and iron in origin. Gem and the Archduke contracts for the cornerstone.

The ancestor is my great master Schweinorg.

――― I Announce.

You are under me, my fate (condemnation) is in your sword.

As per the Holy Grail approach, if you hold that feeling, that reason, respond.

Here is my oath. I am the one who becomes all the good in the underworld, I am the one who exposes all the evil in the underworld.

You, seven heavens clothed with three words of power, come from the ring of deterrence, O guardian of balance"

The magic circle began to glow and smoke rose from the circle forming a female body.

She was a grown woman, wearing a classy black kimono dress that was open at the sides of her legs and dripped down the front and back of her legs like a towel or a flag.

The woman had a cap that protected part of her face, and the most striking thing about her was her light purple hair and her bright yellow-brown eyes.

Alecsviel looked at the scythe in the woman's hand and widened his eyes. His breathing began to increase wildly until he watched the smile of the woman who was gripping the scythe and yelled "Lancer, Don't attack me"

The woman widened her eyes when her body glowed, and she was surprised by the order of the man who fell to the ground in fear and a seal of command from him was burned.

"So you're my master? A homunculus? Interesting, we'll see how far you can go in this war.".

"It's nice to meet you too Lancer, my name is Alecsviel, but you can call Alecs" Alecsviel smiled at the servant who snorted and disappeared before speaking "I'll walk around, don't do anything I wouldn't do"

-

Well, I have to admit that seeing the adult form of the Lancer jellyfish hasn't been the nicest thing in the world since she tried to kill me on our first date.

"Master"

well, despite her being quite grumpy and even evil, I can't deny she's a nice person if I didn't know she's planning my death

"Master?"

I saw the light purple hair getting closer to my face and for a moment I was startled by falling backwards, causing the chair I was sitting in to shatter on impact.

"Ouch, ouch"

I moaned wistfully. I ran my hands over my hips that were aching from the impact and looked up, feeling irritated. Furthermore, I looked at the snake woman smiling with great amusement, and her eyes had a sadistic glint that made my spine tingle.

Wow, she seems very happy with my disgrace, I don't know how I'm going to get along with this woman.

"Master, it's time to go"

The snake woman spoke again with an acute tone, almost as if she was trying to please me somehow. I won't fall for it. She is a snake and will attack me some time.

How I wish she had been Rider…

Bang

Oh, that was the only thing I could say when I was thrown backwards flying into a wall where I hit it hard, causing the pain of impact to make me vomit blood.

"Why did you do that"

I questioned her trying to get up as I tasted blood in my mouth. I focused my magic circuits, ready to use the command seals to punish the snake, but backed off when I looked into her sharp eyes looking back at me.

Even a man who lived in a modern world like me who had no war in my life knew exactly what category of look the snake was giving me was.

It was the look of if you dare do something to me, I'm going to kill you. It was a very common look from children in the neighbourhood where I was born. A neighbourhood that every week had at least one dead person.

"You"

The snake woman pointed her finger at me and closed her eyes that had a fierce glint of anger that almost made me take a step back.

"Don't you dare try to compare me to my other versions, I'm not them, and they're not me"

I immediately understood her anger and closed my anger. How she found out I was thinking about Rider I don't know, but I'm sure she didn't want to be compared to the other versions of her.

---

"I understand, I'm sorry Lancer" Alecsviel lowered his head apologetically in front of the woman and put his arms behind his back smiling happily, and the Lancer widened her eyes and stepped back with her master's awkward attitude.

Maybe this was some trigger of some trauma she had in the past that made her cornered, as she couldn't attack Alecsviel

Alecsviel continued to walk closer to Lancer, and she backed up farther until she was leaning against a wall.

At that moment, Alecviel took Lancer's hands, which was ready to attack, even though her body rejects the action. When Alecsviel got close enough to her. She closed her eyes as if expecting an attack. After all, she was helpless, once again…

The fear in Lancer's fearful expression and his huddled form against the wall made Alecsviel almost recoil on instinct. He knew this feeling she was feeling, after all, he was mugged many times in front of her house and there were times when he caught the prized cop and got beaten up.

Alecsviel knew better than anyone what it was to be the victim of an injustice, and He understood the woman in front of her.

Alecsviel calmly took Lancer's hand and quietly whispered, "Lancer, my fate is in your hands and I in mine. We will do our best to ensure that not one of us is at a disadvantage at the end of the day"

Lancer opened his eyes, slowly straightening and looking analytically at Alecsviel with her eyes replacing the glint of fear with calm ice.

She no longer had that playful, indecent glow that she had before. This time it was the sheer glow of calm and inquiry. When she saw Alecsviel looking calmly at her.

She saw that the man in front of her didn't seem to have any malice towards her and was only seeking her power to achieve her goal. At first, she realized that he had a strong dislike for her, but now he didn't have such a thing anymore.

She didn't want to trust this man and happen to her the same thing that Poseidon and Athena did to her. Trusting people was a weakness.

"What do you want for the holy grail?"

That question made Alecsviel's eyes widen, and he looked down with a bit of sadness, which the woman noticed.

Alecsviel sighed and looked at the woman directly into her eyes and smiled sadly, "I am the Lesser Grail, my alb will fade the moment 4 servants or more die being absorbed into my body. I deny it, I want to live. That's my wish, I want to live and be free away from the shackles of Einzbern"

Lancer looked at Alecsviel in surprise and smiled to herself. She knew the feeling Alecsviel had. The feeling of being oppressed by a force that she couldn't escape from.

"Master, I will help you to free yourself from the bonds that bind you, but you have to promise me that you will fulfil my wishes too" Lancer spoke calmly and took Alecsviel's hand "from now on we are one"

"Yes, we will be one"

Thus was born the duo of the overturning of the third holy grail war
