Chapter 33 - Battle that Decides fate

"We'd rather die than give her up you bastard!" Harold replied. He could see an evil smile spread across Alexander's face, the presence of his aura suddenly dropped which clearly spoke of his intentions, he wasn't planning on going all out against them. He underestimated them.

"What's this?" Harold questioned "you underestimate us?" He added.

His smile grew wider before he spoke in his condescending tone. "No child, you're weak and this is mercy. It would be a shame to see such young talent go to waste. Warriors like you will be needed in the new world I'm about to create"

"I advice you do your best or are you afraid to test your capabilities against ours?" Harold questioned trying to get under his father's nerves.

A short laugh escaped Alexander's lips, before he proceeded to produce a flaming sword from thin air.

"I'll do me a favor by shutting that mouth of yours once and for all" Alexander said and in less than an eye blink, he had reached Harold, his blade already down on the boy who managed to block the attack just before it reached him.

'So fast!' Harold acknowledged in his thoughts. His father's smiling face almost pressing down on his. He pushed the man backwards with air current knocking him off his feet and into his throne which came down into a rubble.

Alexander's laughter filled the air as he rose from the floor, the other's had rounded him already standing in their battle postures.

"Come!" He instructed, his already dwindling flaming sword rekindling itself.

Harold attacked first, his takeoff from raising dust and shattering the ground as he projected himself forward with violent air current from his feet.

Their weapons clashed, both of their faces alive with smiles that told that they were enjoying this battle. The floor beneath him gave in, planning to swallow him but he had quick reaction speed. Producing another spinning circle of air, he threw himself upwards before raining down three blades of wind down at his father.

Warren projected forward while Alexander was still busy with the blades that were coming down on him. Not wanting to give the madman any chances of blocking two fast attacks.

Already sighting the approaching fighter, he rose three thick walls of earth in front of the approaching boy slowing him down while he dealt with the attacks from above. He bent low almost immediately, his head nearly touching the earth as spikes of ice swooped past him.

"Ahhh" he exclaimed in joy as his eyes caught of Sian. Rotating himself anticlockwise, he created a violent circle of air around himself before expelling the attack forward and projecting forward at the attacking Sian. The attack potency of the air circle grew with each distance it covered with the two men covering themselves simultaneously in a ball of solid air before rushing down at him just as he projected towards Sian. But they weren't fast enough. His speed was just overwhelming. His smile only growing as he reached her.

Alexander's body was alive with flames that melted every attack she threw at him without even reaching him. He was already closing in on her and she was left open.

He changed his projection in a heartbeat projecting himself sideways with a burst of fire from his hands instinctively dodging a sword attack from a descending Lucas

"Be gone!" Alexander commanded knocking the landing Lucas sideways with an air ball that had suddenly formed out of nowhere

A bubble of solid air formed around him immediately as both Warren and Harold descended down on him. Their weapons clashing upon the dome and having no effect. Using the impact of their attack on the unscratched bubble, they pushed themselves backwards just before a hurricane of flames formed around Alexander.

Taking control of the attacking flames, Edmund projected the attack back at its sender with the former having to cancel out the raging flames. He soon had to block another attack from Caleb who descended with his scythe from above rotating and adding more impact on his attack. He finally struck down at his victim who parried it promptly with single and simple raise of his flaming sword.

'Impossible' he thought as he quickly threw himself upward hurling down two daggers down at ever smiling man even though he knew it would have no effect

Hayley attacked him directly, engaging the mad Alexander in hand to hand combat. Her flexibility took her a long way. She easily slipped through all his swipes and managed to land a few hits on him being the first amongst them to even touch the madman even though her attacks didn't leave a scratch.

He had finally gotten tired of her pestering. Instantly, flames expelled from his body instantly chasing after the approaching Hayley. There was no time, she was propelling forward and the attack was approaching her. This was it for her, she was going to die but she still had to try. Stopping as fast as she could, she pushed herself backwards involuntarily buying enough time for Warren to swoop in and cage the two of them in a ball of solidified oxygen.

Harold, Edmund and Caleb charged in on Alexander the three of them amplifying their attacks by attacking simultaneously. Their battle strategy in sync as they launched each attack. They'd show him the power of the Triumvirates. Harold and Edmund took care of direct attacks while Caleb dealt with the surprise attacks.

Every flame he sent forward was amplified by Harold's powerful wind attacks while Caleb used the cover of their attacks to launch his own close range attacks.

Their attacks were easily bypassed even though he was holding back and never really launched any lethal attack since the fight had began. He was truly sparing their lives but the thought that they weren't taken seriously angered Harold. Pushing himself forward with air, he released three blades of wind at his father behind a conflagration Edmund had sent out. There was no way he could block what was coming. Caleb had already launched an attack from above and now three more came from below two which he wasn't aware of.

Raising an earth wall to shield away the fire, Alexander covered himself with a dome stopping Caleb's strike from above before sinking down into earth just before the blades of wind reached him with Harold flying closely behind them.

"Below you!" Caleb warned the oblivious Harold who lifted himself higher from the earth just before a human hand erupted from where he had been, aiming to grab him.

Alexander surfaced once again, his smile not faded a bit.

"Stop playing games with us!" Harold shouted, infuriated that seven person's couldn't land a hit on a man who was holding back against them.

Alexander ignored him, his gaze focused only on his target. Sian.

She stood her ground, returning the stare and readying her attack. She didn't have a better showing earlier but it would be different this time around.

Alexander kicked off the earth, his speed even faster than it was before.

She had expected this and had already began conjuring her wall of ice even before he attacked. The difference in their speed she made up with pre attack strategies.

An ice wall erupted in front of him, stopping him from moving any further. He stopped instantly even at the speed he moved at and instantly shielded himself with rotating ball of air from the ice spikes that had instantly built up from the wall in front of him. Enclosed in his protection, he dug his hand into the earth in a bit to cause a landslide where she stood in order to trap her underground.

Warren rushed forward, lifting Sian just before the earth beneath her gave in. He had seen through the violently rotating air that shielded the tyrant and had instantly read his attacks.

Hand like shaped structures made out of earth shot out of the ground making their advances at the two as they flew away from the attack.

Lucas intervened slicing through the rocky figures until they crumbled down. If Sian ever got caught, then their fight was as good as over.

Caleb joined Lucas as they mowed through the figures that constantly kept erupting and forming out of nowhere.

Harold caught hold of his father and pulled him away from his protection. They had manipulated the air inside the barrier as it seemed his father had absolute control over the ones that caged him from their attacks.

Edmund was had been informed beforehand of this plan had prepared a hail of flames for their adversary. The flames came down on him while he was still caught in Harold's pull. There was no way he could defend now, even if he could, the hailstorm above him was just too much to handle in his recent situation.

They'd played smart but they had also underestimated him. He easily broke out of Harold's pull and without much effort, turned Edmund's flames against him. This was a battle of power supremacy and none of them was up to his level.

Edmund instantly raised a cocoon of flames around himself aided with an air bubble from Harold, he managed to get past his own attack. He had done it to the Tyrant earlier and it was only fair he returned the favor.

He could only manipulate Alexander's flames since he didn't put much energy into his attacks so far but his was different. He had attacked with every seriousness and yet, his flames were easily controlled. Even though he wasn't at his best at the moment, it was absolutely clear that even at their peak at this moment, they didn't stand a chance. This fight was completely one sided and it wasn't in their favor.
