Dark skies, the moon way up in the sky, but I could feel it within the palm of my hand as I laid out there on that rock, bleeding out. I loved him so much that I sought power no one of pureblood in the Ericson lineage has ever sought. I followed a path I knew would definitely bring me shame and eventually, my lonely death if he chose to reject me. Here I am on this rock, I don't even know now whether he's proud of me or not, would he have approved of the methods I used? Well, I guess I'll never know as I feel eternal sleep finding its way to me slowly. Amore e Morte, those were the last things I recalled myself saying. As I laid there, my mind flashed back to my years being alive, the time I spent in the coffin and the time I became a hybrid.
A little girl, born into the Ericson family, a line of werewolves which were pure-blooded, this meant we only had to mate with our kind to preserve our strength and powers for generations. I was named Dianne and the era I was born into or should I say woke up into was a modern world, but I believe I was born way before this era. I've had random flashes of time before and what looks like time after this era. Growing up wasn't really the best, it never held the best experience for me. I always thought it would be over when I grew up and had my stand outside the pack, but I was joking.
"Congratulations Sir Noah, your wife Sarah just gave birth to two boys" That was our family butler, Sir Franklin, and that was the day I was born into the Ericson family.
"Take me to her" And that…..that was my father, Noah Ericson, the alpha of our pack.
"Sir, I think she needs rest now sir"
"Franklin, tell me, how am I supposed to be at ease when I don't even know how my children look like" my father replied in his usual calm but deep masculine voice
"She would be out soon sir, we can go in soon as the maids finish cleaning her up"
Just then, a loud howl was let out from the room where I was with my mother. A howl so loud yet thin it sent a piercing sensation to the ears of those who heard it.
"That came from the room my wife is in, Franklin" my father uttered with so much fear in his voice even though he tried his best to conceal the fear from the public.
With the speed of light, my father and Franklin were already in the room where I was, the silence as they got in could almost be heard. My mother was unconscious on the bed and the maid were panicking in fear, most of them already at the verge of metamorphosing into their various forms. My father stood there just staring at me.
"E…. Everyone excuse us right now" Sir Franklin said as if the words were begging to come out of his mouth already.
"Master, this has never happened for decades now, not since the time of Lord Ericson, your great-grandfather." He continued after making sure no one was in the room except himself and my father.
"Take care of this before my wife wakes up, Franklin" my father said as he left the room.
"But master...." Sir Franklin stood there unable to complete his words as it was going to be pointless saying anything without my father in the room.
Some hours later, my mother was awake, and I was in her arms, that feeling was something I always cherished, something always wished could remain like that forever, but my ancestors have a saying, not every sweet thing remains sweet for twelve full moons. We were alone in her room without her maids because for some reason, my father had summoned the maids, including the ones present as at the time of my birth.
Everywhere soon became dark, and I felt myself being carried on a stretcher. Red lights flashing from the van I was being carried into. I couldn't feel myself and struggling was futile as I had no strength left in me anymore. I heard voices, though what was being said was unclear to me, somehow I felt safe. Not only that, but I was unable to feel so close to eternal sleep as I felt before. It didn't feel strange and I did feel safe. So I chose to trust blindly.
"What are you saying now, Ryan?? I had to help her regardless. I couldn't just leave her out there in the woods like that".
"Still, Lewis, she has put you through so much trouble already and I can't stand her. Why do you always have to be there for her?"
I woke up to this conversation between these two people, I don't think I know anything about them, but me being awake right now is a good thing, I guess. I don't even know what to do. Get out of this bed and say hi or just stay here, try to remember what exactly got me in this position? My head was scrambled, and I could only remember details from last night. Anything before that was so vague.
Finally, I mustered the strength to get out of bed and walk towards the direction of the people arguing. I could ascertain that they were talking about me, it was really evident. One of them didn't want me to stay any longer and the other seemed to have a thing, so much so she had to help me out of the woods.
"Don't worry, I'll be leaving any minute" I said as I was already getting tired of the argument between them.
The other guy made his way out of the room and the other one made his way towards me.
"Where would you leave to? You own this place you dumb head" he said as he got really close to me.
"What do you mean I own this place?" I asked as I glanced around.
"Haha…..funny Dianne, you're good to go if you're able to make jokes" he said as he started to make his way away from me. He moved towards a picture on the wall. I was in the picture and so was he.
"I don't understand, who are you? Where am I? And lastly, what happened to me?" I said to him in a very inquisitive tone.
He said nothing and just stared at me right in the eye.
Something wasn't right, I didn't know what it was, but I felt it, something wasn't in place.
