Xana and her friends were on the way to the esteemed restaurant. It was widely known in Acorn village and the surrounding villages. One of the things that they were known for was their food. Their chef had been scouted for by a lot of other restaurants but he built his own and stationed it in Acorn village, where he wanted to retire.
Their food was very amazing and known to be one of the best. It wasn't easy getting to try the food made by him himself as only those on the first floor could dream of trying it.
This man was the famous Chef Gabriel Isaac. His Phoenix Feast Restaurant was a treasure.
They walked into the restaurant that was decorated elegantly. The theme of the restaurant was color orange and it gave people a cool and crispy feeling. The first floor was decorated in purple meaning elegance and novelty to those who were there.
Only the village chief could dine there without a black card. All others that had the black card could feast there. Though Max and Sam were the children of the village chief, they did not have a black card so they couldn't eat on the first floor.
They were led to a table by a waiter who collected their orders. Xana wanted to try the main chef's food so badly so she thought of how to get to the first floor.
"Hello, can I see the owner of this restaurant?" she asked the waiter who was momentarily surprised.
"Um...miss, he doesn't just meet anyone. I'm sorry."
Xana shook her head.
"I'm not just anyone. I have something he would be very interested in." she said with confidence.
The waiter was now shocked. Though many people had asked to see the owner, they hadn't been so straightforward as this young lady. He felt like going to tell the owner.
"Miss, I'm not a first floor waiter. I can't bring you to him." Xana sighed. 'So much speration in here. It'll help the waiters and waitresses work harder but...'
A commotion was going on nearby. Xana listened to what was going on. She could see another waiter and a waitress in a thick atmosphere. The waitress was seriously berating the waiter who looked way older than her.
"You idiot, what nonsense. How dare you spill that juice on me?!"
The older waiter looked horrified at what had just happened. This waitress was a first floor waitress, was he going to lose his job?!
"Please, please, forgive me. I didn't know how I tripped. This was not intentional." he said as he grabbed paper towels and began to clean the woman's shirt and apron which was just a waist apron.
The waitress was not calming down one bit. Infact she looked angrier. She immediately sent a slap to the man's face.
"How dare you try to take advantage of me?!" she screeched. "Under the guise of cleaning my shirt!"
The waiter was flustered. That wasn't what it looked like. Furthermore, taking advantage of this first floor waitress was the last thing on his mind.
He shook his head furiously as he bowed his head. Other workers around him were huddled in one area. The dared not come any closer. Fighting or entering any sort of argument with a first floor worker was asking to be fired.
"I shall report you and make sure you are fired. Idiot!" she said and stomped away.
The man was speechless and afraid. He did not want to lose his job. He ran after the angry waitress.
"Please, please, don't go. Don't report me. I have a sick daughter and my wife is pregnant. Do not make me lose this job, please." the man begged profusely, his face streaked with tears.
The other workers looked sad. Then the man turned towards them.
"Please help me beg her. Most of you know my condition. If I lose this job, the life of my family and I would be over."
But, the workers did not speak. Some hesitated but made up their minds not to say anything. The waitress scoffed coldly and kicked the man holding unto her legs away.
"Get lost." her voice sounded.
"You get lost." another voice sounded from adjacent the woman.
"Hunh! Who are you? How dare you insult me?!"
Xana walked forward under the gazes of her friends which words could not describe.
"Do you want me to repeat myself?" she asked, her cold voice sending eerie chills down the waitress' spine.
The waitress looked closely at this young lady. Her eyes widened.
"You..You.. the three miracles!" she said excitedly. One of the products, the heart rate monitor had warned her in advance about her dad's high blood pressure and she was able to treat him earlier.
"You are our savior!" Xana was stupefied. The waitress instantly remembered what just happened. She stuttered.
"Um, forgive me. He spilled an orange juice on me, a first floor waitress! But I shouldn't have slapped him."
"His job?"
"No, no, I would not report him. He shouldn't worry."
Xana nodded. "That's good." She turned back to her seat.
"Miss come with me. Esteemed guests like you should be on the second floor. This is the order of the owner." The waitress brought out a black card and handed it over to Xana respectfully.
Xana stared at it before accepting it. She got up and immediately started walking upstairs. Her friends quickly scrambled after her.
The waitress who was in front of them opened a door which led to a new world.
The chairs and tables were deep purple and elegant. The floor was sparkling clean. One of the tables was occupied by a guest.
The waitress led them to a table. They looked around the beautiful place and gingerly sat on the soft chairs. Where they came from could not compare to this place.
"I want to have your main chef's dish. The Prawn Tilapia and the Roasted Duck in red sauce."
The waitress nodded. Thank God the owner was around. She did not want to disappoint these guests.
"I will immediately get that." she said, walking towards the kitchen.
"What! Then I must make this food very well." the main chef/ owner said when the waitress told him who ordered it.
He immediately started to prepare. He grabbed a duck from a cage and poured hot water, making it easier to pluck the feathers off. Then he marinated it in red wine and covered it with seasonings and spices.
He made little cuts on the duck and transferred it to the grill. The duck slowly cooked as it simmered and turned darker. The duck was flipped over.
The chef started to work on his red sauce. He mixed chilli powder and tomato paste, added condiments and brought it to boil.
The duck was ready. He brought out a large tray and placed it. The sauce was arranged neatly on the sides which had sliced tomatoes placed on.
Xana sat waiting for the food watching her friends who did not have the patience to wait for the chef's food. They ordered food by other chef's.
The kitchen doors slammed open. A tall man in chef's clothing walked forward holding a large white tray.
He smiled at Xana immediately he saw her and placed the food on her table. The cover was opened and a magnificent dish was presented to her.
Everyone's mouth began to salivate. Xana grabbed a tomato and put in in her mouth relishing the coolness. The chef was a bit annoyed. Those tomatoes weren't the main dish but this lady finished them before eating the duck.
