Renjun waited for Seohyun to tell her progress, about which she was so excited that he could practically see the sparkle in her eyes, her Doe brown eyes shining with hope.
Hope, something he had long forgotten about. With the warmth, he felt having her around, in an instant he dozed off next to her. He hated it, he hated this for happening.
"All of these people who were murdered have some kind of connection, I checked their history, and guess what, cap! I found that they all graduated from the same university and the same year!"
Grabbing a few pictures, she continued
"and that's not it. They were in contact until a few years ago, which makes it even more suspicious".
"So you're suggesting that the killer is doing everything because of a single cause?"
She was intriguing his interest. This early in a case and still be able to pinpoint the one connection he was yet to discover. Again, it gave him a sense of competition, but this time he felt relieved.
"I don't know if you know how to play cards, but the ace of spades is the card when you show dominance when you know you've won. He calls himself an ace not because he's best….but because he's waiting for everyone's card to finish, so he could reveal his only card…

She took a deep breath with the same sparkle in her eyes which shined even more glimmer on her face, the face of a child waiting for their parent's approval. Renjun looked at her with a small, unnoticeable smile on his face.
Damn, how her Doe eyes almost warmed his dead, cold heart.
"Full of surprises, aren't you?"
"I know right, I'm equally surprised"
She said, making Renjun break out in a chuckle. His deep tone resonated with the area for a small while. He hadn't felt this feeling in a long time.
Upon seeing the male laugh, She almost cursed in surprise. He was a man of few smiles and laughs.
"Aww, you smile too!?"
He looked adorable, almost squishable to him in the instant before he cleared his throat, wiping the smile off his face. The same taunting look on his face.
"Of course, Ms. Park…meeting in ten. Thanks to you, I have an idea".
He flicked her forehead, getting up. It was a gesture showing he was proud and possibly grateful for her help.
"Hey, what was that for!?"
Her small hands rubbed the area on her forehead, which was now red, thanks to their captain.
"Appreciation"
He said shortly after walking out. He loved escaping conversations. But Seohyun never left anything incomplete, no matter how stubborn the male was, she put up a good fight, always.
The girl chased behind him, walking to the meeting room together.
"A simple great work would also work." she complained, and he shrugged, not saying anything. Well, in his defense, what could he even say at this point? He was never good with words.
"With all due respect, Mr. Huang, you need to work on your socializing skills"
Ignoring her words, he walked to the meeting room, grabbing a cup of coffee to refresh himself.
The whole department was gathered in the meeting room waiting for Renjun to finally reveal their plan.
"Yes genius we're ready, hit us up," Jen said rolling his sleeves ready to listen
Renjun thoroughly explained Seohyun's conclusion before adding his deductions.
"Now, if we assume that every card he leaves has a meaning, then every death indicates something.Starting with ;

The cards showed significance as they had just been discovered. Renjun simply hoped it wasn't a dead end.
"If we translate everything, we will get the reason behind the murders!"
Chen shouted happily. He always hyped the entire room up. Seohyun found him to be adorable.
"Yes and no"
Renjun said
"We're uncertain if it will lead us to reason, but it might help us," jaemin said as they all began to translate the cards to find some kind of message.

"New beginning, justice, information, and equality…what the fuck??" Jisung said, making Seohyun wheeze at the clueless boy. Staring at the files gathered.
"What if the ace has batman mentality…justice" Seohyun joked, making Jen laugh. The two had the same sense of humor which made them laugh at the smallest of jokes.
Renjun glared at them to shut up.
"Stop with the jokes and think" Renjun scolded the two who shut up rolling their eyes in annoyance.
"Yeah, sure Mr. serious" Seohyun mumbled which was heard by him but choose to ignore it.
"Okay what if the ace is trying to tell us about their dark past and wants to do justice"
Jaemin added
"Information of crime, the beginning of justice, equality which can also mean revenge" Renjun smirked proudly cracking the code finally.
"Makes sense to me" Chen agreed.
"But I've checked all their files they have their status is as clean as Levi's skills with ODM gear," the girl told
"I love the reference queen" Jaemin hyped
Seohyun and jaemin got surprisingly well together, they matched each other's energy.
"Back to the topic that sus as hell," Chen said, and Jisung aggressively nodded.
"We need to find their secrets" Jen said knowing it was a difficult task given how they were influential, and it was easy for them to cover their tracks
Renjun on the other hand had a relaxed facial expression. Almost like he was aware of what to do.
"He's coming back" Renjun informed sipping on his coffee making Jen, jaemin shocked.
"No way! How did you manage to convince the admiral?" Jen inquired with a shocked face. If it were he who they were thinking about, then solving this case was a piece of cake.
He was the best of the best.
"Let's just say he owes me for all his life" Renjun shrugged
