Chapter 9 - Renjun... she's gone

A Knock was heard on the office door, disturbing his focus on collecting the information. Annoyed, he let out an exasperated sigh. Followed by another knock, Renjun hummed in response before Chen entered. His face flushed like he ran a marathon. Breathing heavily.

Looked like bad news, he hoped it wasn't as bad as his guts telling him.

Not as bad as the vibes telling him it was going to be, but he knew it was going to be worse.

"Uh bad news"

He hesitated to say, words unable to form, He was shaken to the core. There it was the news, again, which was now like a curse to him.

"Just say it"

Renjun hurried to get up, not even hearing the whole sentence of the younger, wearing his black leather jacket and holding his car keys. A gut feeling he had that something bad had happened, and he had to rush. So, he prepared himself mentally first.

"We have a crime scene to report to, and it involves the admiral's daughter"

Admiral's Daughter… Park Seohyun.

Hearing the news, his heart stopped, sinking deep down to the point he became numb. It was park seohyun he was talking about. Taking out his phone, he pushed past Chen.

Faint sounds of him being called by younger were heard, but it wasn't important. Not after what he heard. Not after her life could be in danger.

"Hyuck, I need you to track Seohyun's phone right now and send me the location"

He called their hacker none other than hyuck to ensure her safety. Started the car, driving as fast as he could. He prayed that he reached there in time before he could lose her.

"Bruh chill, she ain't running"

hyuck found it weird for him to ask for her location. He was unaware of the whole situation… Of course. He mostly operated from home after he was suspended for a while, reflecting on his actions.

Which obviously… didn't.

"Hyuck this isn't funny? We got info about admiral's daughter being involved in crime scene" he told, making hyuck's line end being silent at the sudden news. He knew the risks involved in being in the crime department.

"Just send the location I'll call you later," Renjun said, ending the call

He tried calling seohyun multiple times, but it never reached her line nor did she pick up. His anxiety reached the peak as he got closer and closer to her location.

Renjun drove past the cars aggressively, only stopping when he reached her house.

The guards stopped him at the entrance, making him curse internally at the tight security around the admiral's house.

"Senior inspector Huang Renjun I have the authority to enter," he said showing his identification card with an angry face.

He made his way inside the huge area which belonged to the girl. He searched around the area looking for the girl.

"Park seohyun!"

His shouts resonated in the big mansion-like house.

"Renjun"

A faint voice called him ever so lightly, the voice he'd recognize even if it was on a dark night with pitch darkness. He'd find her even if the daylight disappeared, and he had no clue to track.

Just as her voice reached him, he rushed.

Running towards her, he reached a room and opening the door forcefully, he saw the girl.

Taking a deep breath, he looked around to see the room covered with blood. She sat in a pool of blood, her hands shaking, staring at the red substance.

She was scared,

panicked.

Her black hair was disheveled, eyes were puffy due to the excessive crying. Her eyes still looked pretty as ever, instead they looked prettier. Her tears like pearl drops fell one by one.

"She's-she's gone"

Her hoarse voice called out. Almost breaking his cold stone heart.

She gulped, looking at the boy helplessly. Her hand having a tremor. Pupils dilated. Mind going hazy.

"Renjun she's gone"

This time she looked into the eyes of the male, calling him out in a voice that any other man than Renjun would shatter completely at. She muttered lifelessly, her voice shaking with pain. Walking to the girl, he held out his hand, Which she accepted. Standing up with his support. Holding on to him, she wrapped her small, blood-stained arms, around him.

Hugging him tightly she cried silently, burying her head in his shoulder. Screams muffled as she shook from terror.

Renjun stood there running his hand through her hair trying to calm her down.

"Renjun!"

The voice of jaemin was heard as he reached along with other investigators. Jaemin stopped upon seeing the scene that unfolded In front of him. It was unlikely for The male to hug anyone, let alone a girl who fought with almost every day.

"He killed her too"

She cried so hard.

For the first time in so many years he felt that feeling of helplessness again, the feeling where he could do nothing but to watch her cry, letting her clutch onto him however long she wanted.

Patting her head lightly, he let her clutch onto him, ignoring the fact she was drenched in blood. Those things simply didn't matter now that she was breaking down.

"Let's get you out of here, hmm?"

He asked softly.

Seohyun couldn't process, she just stood there lifelessly muffling her cries, not caring if renjun's crisp white shirt was drenched in blood and tears.

"Uh… Renjun we have to um investigate the admiral is going crazy" jaemin whispered making him nod.

He knew he had to get everything in control, now was not the time to get emotional. He never let his feelings get the best of him. So, he took a deep breath and did what he had to.
