"Yunn…" his calm voice rang in her ears. A nickname she hadn't heard in a very long time, so long that it felt almost foreign to her at the moment. She hesitantly rose her head, looking at him with her bloodshot eyes, red from crying so hard. Trembling as she let go of him. She hated having this, an anxiety attack, her eyes pouring, body shaking, sweaty palms, breath stuck in her lungs.
"I can walk, I'm going"
She tucked her hair behind her eyes. Trying to maintain her composure and not act so weak now that everyone was here. In her room, her house…. No… It wasn't her home anymore, it was just another crime scene.
"Chen you're with her, get her to medics also get the sample of blood we need to match DNA"
He ordered as Chen complied. Firmly gripping seohyun by her shoulder as she almost lost her balance, tripping over herself. He helped her leave the area, so she could breathe fresh air away from there.
"Seal the area! Jaemin keep Seohyun in custody until I say so"
he slowly whispered to the male, making him tilt his head in confusion. How many chances that Renjun was suspecting seohyun of murder?
well, for starters… a lot, a hell of a lot.
"You're not suspecting her? Are you?"
At his question, He simply sighed. As a criminologist, his first suspicion would be of seohyun. She was drenched in blood, next to the dead body, the possible relationship was bad between her and her stepmother. For anyone who didn't know her, they would surely put her behind the bars, but Renjun knew better than that.
"We found her at the crime scene in blood… things don't line up, I just need to be sure"
He told, making Jaemin sigh and nod.
Jaemin had worked with him for years and knew more than to judge his abilities.
"I'll do that…you want to lock the admiral too?" He asked with a hint of sarcasm.
"Great idea! Jaem... hold him in custody too!"
Renjun patted his shoulder, moving ahead to examine the crime scene.
Jaemin huffed in response, he could see Renjun had lost his mind, in a horrible way. Letting him curse out loudly at the male.
"Damn criminologist!"
The next few days were quite a blur for everyone. Seohyun and the admiral were held in custody by the crime department upon Renjun's order. The investigation of the admiral's wife was under consideration.
Ace was still on the loose and while this the department lacked a senior forensic expert. Everyone faced major stress and was constantly working.
It had been 4 days since the murder.
Jisung rushed up to the department, almost falling over.
"Guys, you're not going to believe this-"
He stopped when he saw the seriousness in the air. A weird tension cutting in the room. It was suffocating.
"Uh you all good?" He asked, removing the lump formed in his throat.
"Renjun thinks the admiral and seohyun are involved in the killing"
Hyuck muttered as jaemin was walking back and forth at a quick pace. He was stress walking, not knowing what to do.
Renjun sitting in his chair lost in thoughts, more like he was planning something.
"Seohyun wouldn't betray us…" Chen
mumbled.
"I don't know about seohyun, but admiral park's DNA matches with the killer" Jisung announced, finally the report they all had been waiting for days now.
Renjun lifted his head with a smirk. He got it, finally.
"We're going to the station"
He said, grabbing his coat in a hurry. He had figured it out a bit, but to be certain he had to perform one little trick.
"Okay, why the fuck does he keep rushing out of his damn office!" Hyuck hissed at his behavior of running out at every single conversation.
"Oh stop overreacting and come on" Jaemin pushed Hyuck following their captain.
The police station was a peculiar place to be at, for Mr. Huang had placed almost everyone there behind the bars.
"We're here for Park Seohyun"
Renjun said as the police let the bunch of investigators inside the police station yet only allowed Renjun to go inside Seohyun's room for interrogation. It was a rule that only the head investigator was allowed to meet the suspect.
The girl rolled her eyes as soon as the male sat down in front of her. His mere presence was like a trigger to her. There was nothing more she wanted than to get out of these handcuffs and slap the man.
"Seohyun"
"Renjun"
She mocked his tone with annoyance. She didn't understand why he was being such an ass. Or maybe she was just plain angry with the pent-up emotions inside of her.
"I don't understand why you're suspecting me?"
She asked, well aware of the reasons but want to hear from him, herself. The bitter truth, her family, and her personal life finally out made her angry. It was not him she was angry at, it was the fact her life was exposed.
Renjun inhaled sharply, leaning on the table.
"Well a Number of reasons hon…your father's DNA matches with the killer of your mother"
Facts,
She always knew He was the one, the one who ruined her life,
scarring her..... forever.
