The crime department was quite busy, everyone panicking now and then, the main reason being the case which had been ongoing for a month.
The killer ace of spades started its killing back in October, and ever since then, the investigation was under Renjun's department. Him being the head was pressured from superiors to close the case before more murders took place.
The senior inspectors panicked due to the sole reason of unreachable contact with their leader one and only Mr. Huang Renjun
"Cap's missing!" Chen panicked and screamed. All were aware of his and Seohyun's life being in danger and were distressed about him. Staying in the office for most of the time, seohyun got used to the gathering. She became aware of their habits, and their nature, and found them adorable as they treated each other like a family.
Something she longed to see for a very long time.
"He'll come around" jaemin shrugged, aware of the fact he was unkillable, he wasn't dying this easily.
"I'll strangle you Chen shut up"
The monotone of none other than the man everyone waited for, Renjun was heard as he entered the office with an expressionless face.
He looked awful, his hair messed up, visible eye bags under his eyes, and his angry expression was visible as he walked closer.
"Where were you!?"
Jaemin inquired, handing over the files he had collected over time that Renjun was missing.
"Home, I found some clues"
He was sleep-deprived and tired yet came to Brief on their plan of action. He walked further before stopping for a while. Turning around, he scanned the area to search for one person, he couldn't see.
"Is Seohyun here?"
"In your office, we temporarily shifted her table there, due to load of work we failed to set her office in time"
Renjun hated working in presence of someone. It gave him pressure, which he hated, a lot. But for some reason, he didn't quite mind the girl being in his office for a while.
"Great! Team meeting in an hour, also I require complete silence until then."
He opened his office door only to detect a girl scribbling on paper, on his table, Sitting on His chair. A small smile on his face seeing the girl work so passionately, dedicating her time fully.
Even though she was quite messy, ruined his fully cleaned office.
"Ms Park, what are you doing?" He asked, plopping on the couch In front of the table. With a big sigh, he held his head, obviously aching.
"Sorry about the mess but I was looking at all the previous cases to find some hints"
she explained shortly, not wanting to take his time rambling. She heard a hum in response, making her look at the male who had her eyes scrunched, ruffling his hair, he was in pain.
"Are you okay?"
She asked concerned
"yeah… Totally" he replied, not satisfied with his reply she searched her bag for a few medications. She always kept her medicines. You never know when you need them.
"I have a few meds if you need cap," she told, looking at her, he sighed. As stressed as he was drugs, would do a lot of help in easing the pain, or maybe putting an end to the case would help too.
"Do you perhaps have detergent?"
He asked jokingly, but had the same irritating expression on his face. The girl laughed lightly in response. She respected him a lot for his passion, and his work, and looked up to him.
"I have painkillers, Mr. Huang, you'll feel better".
She walked over to him, passed the pill and poured a glass of water. It wasn't her duty, but for some reason it made him feel better.
"Thank you Ms Park"
Weirdly, for some reason, her kind gesture meant a lot more to him than she thought. It was rare to see someone caring, and he found an unsettling feeling, but ignored it due to the banging pain in his head.
"I can leave if you want me to"
she offered, so he could take rest properly, but he shook his head.
"I don't mind, continue your work"
The head of the department slept peacefully for a while, probably slept after a long time given his eye bags deepening as each day passed, for the medicine had worked shortly after. Seohyun was also careful enough to not wake him up. But as soon as she connected the dots, she let out a small squeal.
"Fuck yes!?"
A slight shout was heard making Renjun open his eyes waking from his sleep, rubbing his eyes he took a moment to process what was happening.
"Oh shit! Sorry I woke you up" she quietly said putting her hands in front of her lips and noticing how she had woken him up.
"What's the time?"
His hoarse voice kind of sending chills down her spine. His octave was dangerously low. There was no denying how attractive the young man was.
"Damn… I mean 7:30"
She Instantly cleared her throat, embarrassed at the slip of her words, luckily for her Renjun was too sleepy to hear her.
"And the meeting?" He asked, remembering how he had scheduled a meeting before he fell into a slump. His hair disheveled after he had slept his, eyes drooping over, he looked awfully cute, making her coo at the boy internally.
"Yeah, I canceled it since you were asleep"
she told, making him nod and take a deep breath.
"You were shouting for…?"
Her eyes lit up and she stood up.
"I think I cracked something down I'm not certain but here listen" she moved towards the boy grabbing a few pieces of paper.
