My legs ached with every step I took and my arm was burning with pain. The dogs were gaining onto me. Someone must have released them. But why did they chase only me?
They growled at my feet, biting and snapping at me. The tree branch slapped my face as I ran blindly into them. Leaving cuts on my cheek and my arm.
One of them caught my leg in its teeth aggressively biting into it.
I screamed, falling to the ground as I hit it away forcefully. But it held on tightly. The others barked around me continuously wanting to alert their masters.
Anxious and In a panic state, I could hear some of them getting closer. Their torches were gaining closer. So I hit the dog harder.
"Leave me alone, I am not the enemy" I screamed at them, my heart pounded with fear as they got closer.
I grabbed a tree trunk hitting the dog hard in the head. It whined painfully. If someone had told me I would hit an animal this hard. I would have called them crazy.
However, I was going to get killed if I didn't do it. I closed my eyes looking away as I raised the tree trunk at them. They had backed away in fear. And I kept them at bay with the stick in my hand.
Howllllllllllll
It echoed into the night making the dogs tremble and flee away in fright. I didn't wait but used the opportunity to run away from them.
I ran away deeper into the forest making sure they were out of earshot. I sat at the foot of a tree accessing my leg.
When I was sure to be safe I rested against the bark of a tree. Breathing heavily, I needed to find help. Maybe a roadside. Everyone I had seen inside this place was deranged.
Just like my stabbed belly, my bitten leg had healed up magically. This was crazy. Maybe I was starting to get crazy.
My shoulder on the other hand was still bleeding. The bullet must be stuck inside. I should have fainted from the amount of blood I lost since I woke in this crazy place.
Dejected by the fact that even if I got away from the dogs and those men who looked to be wild game hunters. There are wolves in these parts of the woods. They are known to avoid humans and if they felt threatened they would attack. I wasn't counting on that. I have to be on my guard.
Why would hunters attack humans? If I ever make it out of here I would make sure to report this to the police. I crouched low on the floor hugging myself tightly. The adrenaline rush had calmed down and I felt weak and scared for my life.
Letting the tears flow like water down my cheeks. My hands trembled and my knees felt like jelly. My mom must be worried sick by now. She never wanted me to stay on my own. If I hadn't been so stubborn. I sobbed quietly to myself. This was pathetic.
It grew quiet after a while when I sat down there. The breeze blew its cold air across my face. My hands were icy cold and shivering. I was clearly underdressed for this kind of outdoor camping. I rubbed my skin together to create a friction of warmth on my fingers.
Snap
Whipping my head like flash in the direction I was sure I heard a twig snap. I didn't see anything. I was too on edge. I glanced around trying to search for anything.
Then he appeared from the bushes his rusty gun aimed at me as he walked out into the moonlight. I froze rigidly on the floor. An old man with short grey hair wearing a black cloak similar to the one the man with a mustache wore.
"Others must have died by now. But I will make sure to kill at least one of you even if I don't make it out alive." He said in a shaky voice seething with rage.
I raised my hands, shaking my head, my voice croaked and unclear.
"This is all a misunderstanding. I was captured too by some people. I live in New York. I am a student at NYC college. I-I have a mom. She must be worried sick. Please I have never harmed anyone in my life" I didn't know when I broke down trying to explain to him as tears blinded my vision.
"You think you can fool me," he shouted, making me flinch. Then proceeded to cock his gun at me firing his shot.
I looked away immediately after hearing his gun unload at me. This is the third time I have been shot at since I woke up in this strange place. I thought this was my final luck thrown out the window.
I heard his screams instead, and the sound of his bones crushing together. I didn't want to look, scared I might be scared for life by what I was going to see.
My curiosity won and I opened my eyes, and before me stood the biggest wolf I had ever seen. It stood taller than an average man.
Its icy silver eyes stared at me. You could see blood dripping from its fangs. And an arm stuck out from the corner of its mouth. I gulped in fear, before passing out in shock.
I had woken up on a bed, feeling something soft and hairy beside me.
I had been scared to open my eyes and see that scary wolf again. Thank God it was a dream.
I rubbed my hands on the fur I felt beside me. Leaning closer to it. It felt warm and kind of hard too.
"I had a bad dream, chubby," I said, rubbing my face on his fur.
"You seem to be having fun, calling other men while in my embrace." I stopped roaming my hands further with my shut eyes. I opened them, only to see that my hands were placed on the chest of a man. A beautiful man to say.
