Chapter 33 - Dining With The Alphas

The four Alphas and their Luna that attended the coronation were invited to the royal dining before they prepared to leave the lock hearts pack. It was past eight and Alpha Cowell told Sage to give the order. Almost every King and their associates were present and they waited for the new King to join them before starting their feast.

The giant door was opened revealing Sage and Aurora. They walked gracefully to the dining and bowed to greet those that were present. Everyone exchanged pleasantries and joked with each other. Alpha Cowell and his ex-beta were also present. Beta Craig had crowned Rae as the new Beta too.

Music and instruments were played as Sage pronounced the feast. They started eating silently at first before Sage began to question the Kings on how they ruled their pack. Many of them gave him their opinions, especially his new friend, Alpha Dylan and he thanked them with due respect. In no time, everyone was done eating but they didn't leave the table since their discussion was still going on.

"Alpha Cowell," Dylan called and they faced each other.

"Yes," Alpha Cowell answered.

"The Alpha from the neighbourhood pack closer to this pack isn't present, may I know why?" Alpha Dylan asked and Alpha Cowell laughed hysterically while others joined him.

"I'm sure you know too well, Alpha Dylan. Alpha Huston never for once appreciated gathering like this," Alpha Cowell informed and laughter filled the dining again.

"I heard the Alpha even sent a threat," another Alpha known as Owens said and Alpha Cowell nodded his head.

"Something wonderful happened," Alpha Cowell said, "I guess you have all heard about it." that is quite normal, why should he send a threat?" Alpha Dylan requested but no one answered as they all kept quiet thinking why the Alpha of the Autumn pack had sent a threat.

"What threat did the Alpha send?" Alpha Owens inquired, referring to Alpha Cowell.

Alpha Cowell who had forgotten what threat had been sent turned to his best friend but before the ex-Beta could speak, an answer came in.

"He declared a war," Sage replied.

"He must be stupid!" Almost all the Alpha proclaimed earning laughter from everyone present.

"Of course, he is," Alpha Cowell said between laughter.

"You should teach him some lesson," Alpha Dylan referred to Sage who curled1 a smirk on his brim.

"I'm still an Alpha learner and have no idea how to deal with him but I will make sure he regrets ever sending a threat," Sage proclaimed and a yes escaped from everyone. He was now speaking like a true Alpha King and they were excited he was getting along so fine. After the applause died out Sage decided to ask them the question that has been bothering him. "Has anybody heard about the assassin?"

Even when Alpha Cowell couldn't remember the incident of the assassin's attack, he was glad Sage had asked the question.

It was still Dylan who answered, "I've heard of them but I've never seen one, did they attack your pack?" He asked.

"Something as such," Sage answered and went on to explain how the ex-King had sent them to Autumn's pack to plead with their Aloha and how the assassins had attacked them on their way back home.

"I suspect Huston," Dylan said, tilting his head back to lean on his chair and folding his hands beneath his chest.

"I do too," the Alphas agreed.

"I will have to look into his pack then," Sage said and turned to his Beta, Rae. "We should send the night watcher to their pack for surveying," he said more as an order and Rae nodded in agreement.

Their discussion finally came to an end and the Alpha was ready to go home. Alpha Cowell then asked Sage to bestow them with thank-you gifts and he did. He met with Dylan again and reminded him of what he told him he'll look into. Dylan promised to visit the seer as soon as possible and also advised him to be careful and make sure his wolf doesn't take over since Aurora was now closer to him. Sage took the advice and wished his friend goodbye as he left his pack.

"I'm still not liking all this," Aurora complained immediately after Sage entered their chamber. She sat in front of the mirror, pulling off the accessories she had to wear for the feast. "I don't like being in toxic meetings," she added, staring at him from the reflector.

"It's not a meeting, Aurora. We were having breakfast," Sage tried to explain.

"Then, after eating we didn't leave the table and talked for about an hour." She complained while Sage chuckled and strode to where she sat.

He held her in front of the mirror and mumbled, "You look beautiful in everything."

"Please," Aurora said and threw her hands up for him to stop. "My shirts and pants are way better than all this I'm putting on. Imagine, I can't run with this," she said, referring to the robe she had on.

"You'll get used to it soon."

"You aren't trying to say I'll no longer rule the pack fighters," She bellowed and swirled her head up to look at him.

"No one said you wouldn't continue what you love most. It's just that you're different now," Sage explained and Aurora kept quiet. She wouldn't argue with him again since he had said her post was still hers.

Sage turned her around on her seat to face him, "I love you, Rora," he confided and held her hands up to his lips to peck it.

"I love you too," she whispered and she stood up to place a kiss on his lips.

Instead of letting her go, he grabbed onto her neck and made this kiss deepen. They both moaned against each other's lips and fought to pull out their clothes. While Aurora pulled out his shirt, Sage zipped down her dress and pulled it off her body, leaving her in her panties. He carried her up and let her legs around his waist, still kissing. He then walked over to their bed and placed her gently on it, climbing onto her as she rubbed her hands against his exposed chest. He groaned, trying to control himself when he moved his mouth to her neck. He bit her softly in it as he kept remembering the warnings Dylan had given to him.
