Chapter 39 - One Great News

Sage was inside his new office when a call came through his phone. He strained his eyes to where the phone was placed and he saw the number was private. At first, he wanted to ignore it but when he remembered that he had sent his Beta and other shifters out of the pack, then he thought the call might come from them.

He reached for the phone and picked it up. He patiently waited for the person to speak up.

"Hello, is this Sage?" The person from the other end asked and instead of him to reply, he nodded his head.

"Are you there?" The voice rang in again and Sage spoke up this time, hitting himself for forgetting he had to say a word before the other person could hear what he had to say.

"I'm Sage and who is this?" He asked with a hoarse voice. The person seemed to be taking time talking to him and he needed to attend to other things.

"Hi, Sage! It's me, Dylan," Alpha Dylan introduced.

"Alpha Dylan?" He whispered to himself trying to remember the name, "Oh! Alpha Dylan, it's you?" He asked, surprised it was the Alpha that had called him.

"Yes, it is me, your new friend," Alpha Dylan told him and they both chuckled.

"I'm so sorry, I never knew you were the one. I failed to recognise your voice," Sage pleaded.

"You don't have to worry, it's practical. Voice changes through phones, you know?"

"Yeah, right," Sage answered and sat comfy on the ergonomic chair he sat on.

"Good," Alpha Dylan mumbled.

"Thanks for the call, Alpha and I may imply that you have called me to greet me and give me very great news," Sage teased but Alpha Dylan caught him.

"That's weird, I only called to greet you," Alpha Dylan said and they both laughed again. After they suspended the laugh, Alpha Dylan continued, "Well, I called as you have expected. I told you I keep my promises."

"I'm so glad to hear that," Sage comprehended.

"Okay, so I met with the seer as I promised and he said you should visit him as soon as possible," Alpha Dylan relayed.

"Of course, I was going to visit him immediately," Sage said elatedly.

"He also said you should make sure you don't lose yourself to her yet that he had seen some cases like yours."

Sage's mouth parted wide open, "Really?"

"Yes, that's what he told me though," Alpha Dylan said.

Sage stood up from the chair he sat on and screeched, "Wow, that means I won't have a problem finding out what I have been wanting to know my entire life."

"Yes, Sage you will, I told you."

"Thank you so much, Alpha. I promise to return the favour to you," Sage assured and they both ended the call.

"Yes!" Sage cringed excitedly. At that point, he felt he should abandon all that he was doing to run down to the seer but he couldn't. It would take him about a week or two since he had just become an Alpha and there were many things on the ground for him to do.

He sat back down on the chair and returned to what he was doing but he couldn't focus since he was thinking about what Alpha Dylan had told him. He removed his hands from the system in front of him and leaned against the chair to have some time to think. He was the happiest person on planet earth.

Aurora ran along with some of her acquaintances in the field as training. While they ran across the field, some were busy doing the combat fight with themselves. Some were being punished by carrying a heavy drum of jug filled with water after Aurora corrected them on what they had done wrong in the training. Some also sharpened their swords to their leader's order.

After rounding the field more than fifty times, she came to a halt and those behind her did the same. They all began to breathe, fighting to catch some air.

Aurora moved to a rock where she placed her bottle of water and picked it up as soon as she got to the rock. She turned the lid open and drank the water to her satisfaction before closing back the lid.

She called all of them and they all neglected what they were doing to answer her call. She took pity on those that were punished and told them to put down the jug of water while still maintaining her stern look.

"We are done with today's training. Whoever wishes to go for a run later in the dusk should go. I won't be going with you though, be sure to be safe and run in groups to avoid any assault. Do you understand?" She inquired and they replied to her. "Dismiss!" She commanded and they all began to leave the garden one after the other.

Aurora made her way into the pack building. Instead of going straight into her room, she made her way into Sage's office. She knew he would be there so she decided not to disturb him by mind-linking him.

On getting there, she gave the door a slight knock and Sage answered from inside asking her to come in. She pulled the door and went in, having a broad smile on her face.

Sage who had already smelled her grinned and raised his head to meet her gaze. She got to his table desk and leaned on it.

"Seems someone had been busy," she pouted.

Sage spread his hands wide, "As you can see, I am busy but not when you're around," he teased but it earned smiles from Aurora.

Then she turned her smile into a frown, "I'm hungry," she stated and made a puppy look.

"Oh?" He asked and scoffed. "I told you to eat something before you went out for training, you resisted and after running all over the field, you end up saying you're hungry," he mocked.

Aurora said nothing and turned to leave, "If you're not going to find a solution to what's on here then, I'm leaving. Good luck," she bid and made her way out.

Sage laughed and stood up from where he sat. He ran over to the door and pulled it open. "Stop, Aurora!" he commanded and was answered with a wave of her hand up into the air.
