Chapter 44 - Visiting Packs

Sage walked back to his associates and when he got to them he revealed to them what he got. He told them about Fortune skills and the three types of skills. "We must keep a record of these things in order not to miss our road," he told them and mind-linked his Beta. "Where are you?" He inquired.

"Still watching their training. It took long before they started," Rae told him.

"Gotten any information?"

"Not yet but Fortune fighters don't seem skilled enough to be assassins," Rae answered.

"Okay, we're heading back to where the cars are, we should leave in an hour, it's almost dusk. I'll tell others too," he ascertained and cut off his mind to reach others. He mind-linked them that they should meet him within an hour. They agreed and when he ended the chat, he turned to those with him, "Let's leave," he said and they obeyed.

As their Alpha had commanded, they all returned within an hour. Sage noticed how tired they were so he asked them to eat at a restaurant and rest a little bit before they began another journey.

They went to the nearest eatery and ate to their fullest. While having their meal, Sage also questioned them and told them what he had found. All of them then understand what combat skills mean.

"Does that mean we could be using the golden skills?" One of them asked.

"Yes, Thanks to our Luna," Rae answered and they all agreed. The leader of the pack fighters who had become their Luna had been teaching them the highest combat skills but they knew nothing of it.

Sage tried to think by keeping silent and when he spoke up, he and Rae's words clutched together, "What_" they both cut each other off when they spoke. Laughter filled their gathering and Rae told his Alpha to speak first. Sage chuckled and agreed. "What I was trying to say is, how is Luna able to learn those skills?"

Rae began to laugh, hysterically making everyone around join him because he looked too cute when shining his teeth. "It was the same thing I wanted to ask, Alpha," he said between laughter.

"Oh!" Sage mouthed and the laughter increased. "I guess we're both thinking of the same thing."

Their laughter died out and it was left for the question to be answered. No one was able to answer including Sage since it was the first time he was hearing something like that and he had never confronted Aurora to know about how she got to learn the combat skills.

"Aurora needs to be questioned about what we don't know, right?" Sage implored.

"Yes, Alpha," they chorused and focused more on their main complication.

They ate and rested for about an hour again before they left the eatery and headed back to their cars. Instantly, they took off to the next pack.

It took them five hours to reach Moon pack but it was already late when they entered. Sage suggested they rent a hotel overnight and they did.

The Next Day|

The day was very bright with the sun shining dazzlingly surrounding the whole pack. It also flickers into rooms with reflector glasses. Sage's room was part and he was woken up by the ray of the sun, gleaming on his face.

Sage raised himself from bed and moved into the washroom to clean himself and when he was done broke into his associate's thought one after the other to wake them up. He also woke Rae up since they both rented the same apartment. Rae stood up and immediately they prepared for the day's activities.

As usual, they all left in five groups to do their various work. Sage and the other three decided to check out the pack building as well instead of going to the training ground. Sage knew he could get other information if he was able to reach the pack building.

When they got there, they discovered that the Alpha was having a meeting with his associates. Sage told his associates that they must go into the pack building at least to eavesdrop on the meeting the Alpha was amassing.

However, going into the pack building was something incompatible. They weren't any member of the pack and they would be caught up with very easily.

"What should we do, Alpha?" One of his associates asked, looking up at him for his intelligent answer.

"Yes, I've been thinking of this one thing, but the moment we are caught doing this, we'll be dead," Sage told them and a worried expression landed on his face. Sage noticed it and gave them his sweet smile, "We don't have to panic. It's nothing too serious if we can do it right and you'll enjoy doing it," Sage assured them and when they heard from him that it would be exciting, they cheered up.

"Let's go for it, Alpha. What do we do?"

"Now, this is it. We need to sneak in while ignoring the guards and other shifters, is that possible?" Sage implored and they shook their heads. "I understand but I have also got a smart way to avoid being caught unless we find ourselves making some mistakes," Sage complied. He then told them what and how he planned for them to go in and their faces turned into a grin the moment he relayed it to them.

Sage then led the way as they marched into the pack building. The gate was opened for them to go in but as they took a few steps forward, one of the guards caught their scents.

"Hey! Stop right there!" He ordered and as they had planned they ignored his call like they weren't the ones he was talking to. Sage had told them to do so, maybe the guards might let them go but the guard didn't leave them alone. He called them again and they gave him no response. With his anger raging in him, he called other guards and they ran towards the four.
