Chereads / My Nerd Mate: I Won't Let Her Go / Chapter 34 - Furious Luna

Chapter 34 - Furious Luna

Aurora stood on top of the altar all dressed in the pack fighter's uniform, facing her acquaintance. As usual, they were already arranged in a synchronizing manner. They hailed her while she roamed her eyes over them to point out corrections if they made the correct stance and if their uniforms were worn properly. Seeing they were all organized, she stopped the hail to begin to address them.

Her voice was loud and audible, she started, "You guys have been doing so well lately, well done," she said and they bowed in response like they used to. She continued, "Currently we've been training and having no issues in the pack but I noticed without my presence in your training, you tend to take it for granted," she said. "Also, most of you don't attend the academy as I have told you to. Anyways that's not a problem as attendance will be taken from now on. You must be at the Academy at least thrice a week. Whether there are leaders or not, make sure you're there to learn something," she paused a moment to clear her bold voice and resumed back to her oration, "I might not be available most times to train you guys and I know you understand the reason why, I don't have to prolong this conversation," she said and every one of them chuckled knowing fully well what she was talking about. "So, I urge every one of you to comply with my assistant," she said, referring to Fennick and searching for him but he was nowhere to be found. She heaved a heavy sigh and continued. "He has been making excuses these days and I knew he had been hunting right?" She asked and those who were doing the same as she said agreed to her statement.

She nodded her head, "I know right and I hope all of you going with him will be careful. Rogues never give up and won't take pity on everyone they get their hands on," she cautioned. "Okay, good so I have come to announce that assassins are out now and they don't shift. They fight with musketeers, so I urge you to start learning the skills and those of you that don't move with your swords are in great danger," she warned.

Just then, one of her acquaintances came forward and whispered something into her ear. She nodded to what he said and he moved backwards. "This is all I have to say for now and if we eventually find out who those assassins are, I guess we should be ready for work. Be safe," she concluded and they bowed again as she climbed down from the altar while they began to pace, creating the middle path for her to pass on as usual.

Telling them goodbye again, she made her way down to the pack building. The shifter that has whispered into her head, told her Alpha Cowell was in pain after complaining of a headache. She slapped herself for not answering Sage who had tried to break into her mind but she had pushed him off since she didn't want him to distract her discussion with her acquaintance. Yet, she was wrong, he was only trying to get her informed about Alpha Cowell's state of health.

Getting into the pack building, she ran her way to his chamber. Pushing the door open, she found all the people she was expecting to see. She entered and closed the door softly since Alpha Cowell was already asleep. Gwen had given him some concoction that would make him sleep and also help to reduce his headache.

"Why aren't you calling the healer you talked about?" Aurora requested from Gwen who was still busy checking out Alpha Cowell.

"The king resisted us," Gwen answered.

"Oh, yeah he said you shouldn't call the healer and you're going to watch him die?" She asked with anger reflecting in her voice.

"His command," Gwen started again.

"No command now! He can't make any command for himself," she said and turned to Sage, "Make them bring the healer!" She snapped at him but he only shook his head making her more upset, "You want him dead?!"

"Aurora, you need to calm down, we're also trying to get the healer here but he wouldn't come after the King told him he shouldn't bother to come," Sage said.

"Bother? I don't get it.  I thought you were the Alpha now. I thought you give rules and no one stops you, not even Alpha Cowell!" She snarled and Sage stood up from where sat trotting his way towards her.

"I don't have any right to disrespect the Alpha," Sage mumbled and stood in front of her while she gazed with fury at him.

"Now, I get, y'all want him dead!"

"Shut up!" Craig growled at them, "You both shut up!"

"Don't tell me to shut up!" Aurora clasped to their amazement since they had forgotten she was now their Luna. Surely she was supposed to possess that authority in her.

"Come with me," Sage sorted and pulled her while she struggled in his grip.

"Get your hands off me!" She snarled at him but he didn't let go of her until they were out of Alpha Cowell's chamber and some meters away from it.

"You don't just make decisions as you like, Rora, you need to adhere to what he wishes," Sage tried to explain.

"Alpha Cowell is dying!"

Sage used his hands to caress his forehead, "I know, I know Aurora but you need to understand what Gwen just told you."

"If you know that he is dying, then you must do something about it."

"Aurora," Sage called gently as he could, "We're all trying to help the Alpha. We're trying our best to put him in the state. However, he's got Alzheimer which can't be cured for_"

"If you don't do something about it, how do you know it can't be cured? I thought you studied psychology, you should be the first to help him," Aurora proclaimed, hitting him on his chest.

"Because I studied psychology, I found out that Alzheimer's can't be cured, you need to listen to me Aurora. Just be calm and we will make sure the King survives," Sage assured but Aurora wasn't ready to listen to him anymore.

She groaned and fist her hands against her blade. Giving him one of her stern looks, she turned to leave while Sage called to her but she gave him no response.
