Chapter 7 - She Is Not Here!

Jeremiah was reluctant to withdraw the whip seeing that the lady wouldn't let go of his boss' neck.

"I said to withdraw the whip?" Louis ordered, glaring at the guy who wanted to disobey his orders.

"But…," Jeremiah quickly withdrew the whip when he saw Louis' eyes turn blue.

Ivy watched as the whip in Jeremiah's hand disappeared in the same manner it surfaced.

Louis shifted his gaze to the lady still grabbing his neck. She assumed they were bad people that is why he attacked him, he knew that much.

Even he would have done the same thing if he was in her shoes.

"There was no way I could remove the bullets from your body so that your already damaged dress won't get completely damaged. I had Jerry buy you a new set of outfits as compensation for the damaged dress," He explained, not showing any sign of fear even though Ivy was still choking him.

How is it possible that he doesn't show any sign of fear even though he is under my clutches?

Ivy thought as her grip around his neck loosened.

"That wasn't enough of an excuse for you to strip me. Besides I didn't ask you to save me," Ivy climbed off his body. She showed no sign of gratitude.

"My boss went out of his way to save you and also treat your wounds but what did he get?" Jeremiah asked as he approached where Ivy stood.

"You didn't hesitate to want to murder him, are you such an ingrate…,"

"I don't recall asking for your boss' help so stop acting righteously because I won't feel grateful to either of you for what you did," Ivy said as she snatched the blue shopping bag from Jeremiah's hand.

"Also, you won't get any words from me. I would rather you both kill me than for me to disclose anything to you," Ivy retorted. She opened the bag and checked for its content.

"You think we saved you because we want information from you? How dare…,"

"You can change in the other room. I don't mind clarifying things to you after you have freshened up," Louis didn't let the angry Jeremiah finish scolding the lady he finds annoying.

He pointed his hand at his bedroom where he wanted her to change.

"I would have done that even though you didn't tell me that," Ivy snapped and approached the room he pointed to.

"How could a lady be so shameless and prideful?" Jeremiah muttered, staring at the door Ivy just jammed not up to a minute ago.

"She is the first lady I have seen act so…,"

"You can't blame her for acting this way. I guess she was brought up this way which is why there is nothing she can do since this is the real her," Louis muttered as he adjusted properly on the couch.

"Also she was right when she said she didn't ask us to save her…,"

"Boss, how could you side with what she said? You and I know that she is outright rude and proud. If you didn't save her, she would have become a pile of dust long ago," Jeremiah stated how he felt without caring about the consequences. He didn't know that Ivy heard all they said.

Ivy examining the room frowned on hearing Jeremiah's last remark about her. 'He is the rude one for speaking ill of me behind my back. I feel like sealing his mouth so he won't ever be able to speak badly about others in their absence'

Ivy looked around the spacious room.

"His room sure looks nice," Ivy muttered as she approached the door at the right-hand side.

After opening it she realised the room was the bathroom. She examined the room to make sure it was safe.

Despite disliking the idea of showering in an unknown man's room, she still did it since she had no choice.

While she was inside the room, the two guys waited for her in the sitting room. They became quite anxious after an hour had passed yet the lady didn't come out of the room.

"What is taking her so long?" The impatient Jeremiah looked at the door which hasn't opened since Ivy entered the room.

Louis stood up to his feet abruptly, startling Jeremiah in the process. Seeing his boss approach his bedroom, Jeremiah followed him wondering what was the problem.

Although Ivy locked the door from within, Louis only needed to touch the door for it to fly open.

"She is not here!" Jeremiah muttered after he had checked the bathroom, restroom and dressing room.

When his eyes met the opened glass window he knew how she escaped from the apartment without their notice.

"For a proud lady like her to jump out through the window she must really hate us," Louis muttered as he turned to leave. Just when he turned around his eyes met a piece of paper on the side table.

He extends his right hand towards where the piece of paper was and in an instant, the piece of paper appears in his hand.

"That you both are still alive despite what you did is my greatest kindness to both of you. Sparing your lives is my way of repaying you for saving me so don't expect anything from me if we ever run into each other again," Louis and Jeremiah read the writing on the piece of paper.

"Did she think she is powerful enough to kill you just because she is a vampire? How silly of her to have such thoughts. Even ten of her would not be able to defeat you in battle," Jeremiah said. He shifted his gaze to Louis' face when he didn't say a word.

"Boss, you have never paid attention to any lady but why do you care a lot about her?" Jeremiah asked the question which has been on his mind since the night his boss asked him to follow the lady in the club.

"I mean you even personally chased after her when you saw her in the church in Hawaii. Apart from that, you went out of your way to save her last night. Why are you so different towards her?".

Louis turned his gaze and stared at where he kept her scarf he picked up on the road in Hawaii.

"Because she is the one," Louis' words only left Jeremiah more confused.

"She is the one?" Jeremiah repeated his boss' words.

"What does that mean?".

"Did you get all the materials I asked you to bring?" Louis didn't satisfy Jerry's curiosity but instead changed the subject.

"Yes, they are in my room," Jeremiah replied, his expression turning serious.

"Let's go check them out," Louis turned and left the room.
