Chereads / The Vampire's Last Mission / Chapter 5 - He Saved Her

Chapter 5 - He Saved Her

In a well-lit room somewhere in Paradise City, a man gently drops an unconscious lady on the brown couch.

Jeremiah, wearing a brown suit, stares at the lady covered in blood. "Boss, why did you save her? We might get into trouble because of what you did."

Yes, it's an undeniable fact that his boss is a caring person but he also knows that his boss likes avoiding trouble.

His boss always avoids anything that will make him be in the spotlight which is why he could not understand why his boss saved this woman whom he could easily tell is a great troublemaker.

"Get me my toolbox and stop asking questions," Louis squats in front of the unconscious lady.

He stared at her painful expression. Despite that she was unconscious, her expression showed she was in a lot of pain. He waited for Jeremiah to bring him the box he kept all his tools.

"What is taking you so long?" Louis' cold voice filled the room. Jeremiah who was previously in the next room suddenly appeared in front of Louis.

The anxious Louis did not look surprised to see him appear out of nowhere; this shows he has seen Jeremiah appear so many times to get shocked by it.

As Jeremiah opens the box, Louis stretches his right hand at the unconscious Ivy and instantly the red dress she was previously wearing changed to a short sleeve silk gown that looks like a nightgown.

"I am sorry for touching you without your permission. I have no choice but to do this, you will die if I don't remove the bullets from your body," Louis stared at the unconscious lady's face before he grabbed the scalpel and got to work.

"Boss, shouldn't you give her an anaesthetic? The bullets are way too many. I am sure she won't be able to endure the pain if you don't give her anaesthesia," Jeremiah suggested when he saw how Ivy was writhing in pain.

"Didn't you hate the thought of us saving her so why are you so concerned about her now…,"

"I don't care about her but I am afraid of what she will do to you if she wakes up due to the unbearable pains," Jeremiah disclosed his fears.

The moment Jeremiah finished talking Ivy sat up acting like a possessed person.

"Did she hear what I said?" Jeremiah muttered, staring at the lady glaring at them.

"And what the heck do you think you are doing?" Ivy flung Louis' hands resting on her thighs.

"What did you do to me? Where are my clothes?" Ivy asked realising that her red outfit was gone.

"You have too many bullets in your body, I am sure you must be in a lot of pain because of that. We need to get the bullets out…,"

"Does it look like I am afraid of pain?" Ivy snapped as she made to sit down properly.

"My life has been nothing but filled with pain. The feeling called pain doesn't scare me…,"

"Stop acting tough because I know your condition more than you do. You might have the regenerating ability because of your identity as a vampire but I know that you are in a lot of pain right now," Louis said, his gaze focused on the face of the lady whom he has coincidentally met three times within three days.

"Stop acting as if you know me because you know nothing about me. Stay far away from me if you don't want to get harmed," Ivy threatened coldly as she made to stand up.

"That depends on if you can harm us in your condition," Louis pulled her back down on the couch before she could drag her weak body along with her.

Arrghh….

Ivy's agonising voice filled the room the moment her body landed on the couch.

"Seeing how you are screaming in pain, I guess you aren't as tough as you want us to believe," Louis said in a provocative voice.

"Nobody dares talk the way you do to me and go scot-free but I will make an exception since you saved me. In this way, I have repaid your kindness. I am not owing you anything now," Ivy said as she struggled to stand up.

"Sit back down if you don't want to become handicapped," Louis held her hand preventing her from standing up.

"Don't touch me," Ivy said, acting like she was electrocuted.

"Since you are too stubborn to reason with, you leave me with no other choice but to do this," Louis said as he pointed his index finger at her forehead.

The moment the blue tiny flame emitting from his finger touched her head, Ivy suddenly felt sleepy.

"What did you do to me? Who are you?...," Ivy slumped back on the couch before she could question him further.

"She is way better when asleep," Louis muttered before he continued from where he stopped.

While he was removing the bullets from her body Jeremiah tried his best to support him.

Although his boss wasn't a doctor, he studied medicine at the university.

After about three hours, Louis finished taking out all the bullets from Ivy's body.

"If you don't want to get killed by her after she wakes up then tie her hands and legs with a chain," Louis took a last glance at Ivy's face before he stood up and left the sitting room.
