Elinor’s POV
I smiled at his retreating form, as he led me to a swinging bench. For someone rumored to be dark and ruthless, there was so much beauty that surrounded him. To me, He seemed to take a lot of comfort in being surrounded by said beauty.
I sat beside him, and for a while, he put the bench in motion, before turning to face me. I should have felt anxious in his presence, but I didn’t. I won’t say I was perfectly still either, not when all my senses rose in alert to his presence, but it was safe and honest to say that I did feel at peace regardless.
All the more reason to try to crack through the rough hard exterior he so adamantly showed to the world. All the more reason to want to know more because I knew there was more, I believed it so much, so badly. There just had to be.
“So, how are you enjoying the castle?” he asked after some time.
