Elinor’s POV
I did not think that I had heard him and simply gaped at him, but the intensity with which he looked at me when he turned to face me, had me believing that it was true. He really had called me special… and sacred.
He didn’t strike me as one who meted out compliments just like that, so I knew he wasn’t just talking, “Those were very kind things to say,” I said meekly, and found that I couldn’t tear my eyes away from him. He was just that hypnotic.
“Then I guess I’m done for the day,” he said and smiled peaceably. I smiled back, though, despite myself. But he definitely left me more questions.
Like why he always chose to appear as though he was the big bad wolf when in truth, he could be so innocently kind.
But that was a question that I didn’t seem to be able to ask at that moment. Instead, I asked another, “What do you do then, when you come here? Do you journal? Although, I don’t see any journals…”
