Elinor’s POV
The stables ran a lot deeper than I thought. Claire had simply pointed it out to me as I passed by. But walking in, I found that it was a whole lot more unique than I could have imagined. At least, it was something more than we had back home.
Of course, back home, the horses were well-tended and taken care of. But at the Emperor’s stables, further within the enclosed stables, was an open field with more single stalls which still held horses in straight, then before they were an open field, where the horses could be mucked, or simply ridden. It was beautiful.
“You look smitten,” he said with a note of humor.
I turned to look at him, putting my hand over my eyes to shield them from the sun. “You have a beautiful stable. So I suppose I just might be.”
“Thank you. Hopefully, you like the equine life just as much.” I smiled at his words, but his face was turned away from me.
