Fedyenka has lost her hope. Still she felt like something was telling her to go. At first she thought, "Is it my...ambition? My wish?"
But soon she realized that she is being pushed to do it. It felt uncomfortable. As if her brain was forcing her to go on but her mind suddenly giving her a hunch. Hunch of something unknown. She felt the same pain again and fell on the ground. She screamed in pain. Hearing her scream, someone came. The person broke the door and came in.
After a while, Fedyenka woke up.
"Your Highness, Are you okay?" said the person.
Fedyenka was startled to hear a kid's voice. She opened her eyes and saw a woman in blue gown. Her cheeks were red as roses. She is what one would say, adorable.
"Sabia...Sabia Fourth. Thank you for helping me." said Fedyenka.
"You haven't yet, come back to your senses Your Highness. Please stay strong. Don't let your own mind mislead you."
"What do you mean?"
"Hehe...Nothing. I just thought that maybe anxiety is making you feel like this. Sabio Tenth told me that you haven't been feeling so good."
"I don't think that it's my anxiety. It's something else..." said Fedyenka while getting up from the bed she was sleeping on.
"Sabia Fourth, my brother!" said Fedyenka.
"I don't think that the letter is from your brother."
"No I don't think that either. I mean, either way it leads to total massacre."
"Calm down Fedyenka. What do you think it is?"
"Maybe it was left by my brother but he was forced by someone. Wait, why am I telling you all these?..."
"Hehe. Don't frighten. His Majesty Oleg has told me all the things you have told him. You have to be more careful though, Your Highness. Only Sabio Tenth, Sabio Thirteenth and I are on the same side along with Sabio First who knows nothing of these. Since he is the King, he is the First Sage. He doesn't know much about the things that are going on right now."
"Sabia Fourth, can you fill me in about what happened?"
"After you left from King Oleg's room, Sabia Third and Second came to his room. Before that, both of them gave me a visit in my palace. They were asking me some strange questions so, I didn't answer any of those clearly. They were mentioning Sabio First's vault over and over again along with King Oleg. Something seemed off to me, so I followed them to His Majesty Oleg's room. After they left from the place, I entered and told His Majesty Oleg that I have came to help him. Then, he filled me up about the things you have told him. It took us some time to make sense out of those."
"Heh...I was in a hurry. I apologize Sabia Fourth."
"It is no matter to apologize, Your Highness."
"No need to be so formal. I'm not a fond of formality."
"Neither am I like the other sages to prioritize formality of most behavior."
"Sabia Fourth, do you have any clue about my mother and my brother?"
"Your mother is in the Palacio de Carino. Her Majesty is safe in my palace. That is the reason why she could send you something. Otherwise, she would be like His Majesty."
"Thank you, Sabia Fourth."
"No need to thank me. I think that we should head to your brother now. Any clue?"
"Yes. If Sabio Second and Third visited you during the time, the maid was putting poison on a side of a knife. The poison was clear as water so I couldn't tell which side it was on after she put it on the turkey and my father held it, so I told him not to use it."
"Is this the knife?" said Sabia Fourth while taking a bag out. Fedyenka reached out to take it.
"Uh, Your Highness, please wear a glove." said Sabia Fourth. Fedyenka took a glove from the drawer of the bedside table and wore it. Then she held the bag and took the knife out.
"Yes this is it." said Fedyenka. Holding it close to her nose she said,
"Ughh the smell. Ew."
"It still has fingerprints on it. Good that your father always wears a pair of gloves, or else the case we are about to make could backfire. Princess Fedyenka, the letter."
"Ah yes. I forgot about it. The end of the letter says that he will be at the north of the canyon and that he'll leave it at 5 O'clock"
"There is only one canyon around here, Your Highness. It's called the Canyon of Hafsa"
"Let's go."
They both headed to the canyon. With Sabia Fourth around, the guards didn't stop them. Wearing a hat, Fedyenka rushed off to the canyon with Sabia Fourth. On the way, Sabia Fourth told her to call her by her name. Her name is Martina Levine. After a while, they reached the shore of a river.
"Wait!" said Sabia Fourth to stop Fedyenka from going.
"What is it, Martina?"
"We should go rest of the way with a boat. If we go from the main road, we might meet Sabia Nineteenth on the way. We'll be in trouble if she sees me with you. Sabia Fourth took a paper out of her pocket and drew a boat with a glossy blue ink. Then, she used the pen, took a hologram from it and placed it on the river enlarging it then kept it as it is. Like this, she created a boat out of nowhere.
"What was that, Martina?" said Fedyenka.
"It's nothing. Just an alchemy technique."
Fedyenka didn't believe her but she had no other choice than staying silent. They got on the boat. Along the way, Fedyenka asked,
"What kind of alchemy is it? I've never seen it before even though I remember that half of the time, I'm busy with alchemic books and techniques. Though, I couldn't master any because my father never hired a mentor for that."
"Oh...that? It's a really rare one." said Martina.
They reached the canyon and yelled for her brother.
"Felix? Feeeliiix? Where are you?" yelled Fedyenka while walking around.
"I'm here. Stop yelling. Who's that?-Oh...Sabia Fourth. Greetings."
"Greetings Your Highness."
"Okay so, why the hell did you plan on leaving? Didn't the thought cross your adult brain that, if you left they would think that you are preparing for a war?" said Fedyenka with a stern voice.
"I have that in mind silly. It's just that, I had some other plan. But since you already got out of the place it saved me two days."
"And what was your plan again?"
"Leave that matter. We have to discuss some other matter now. You brought the letter with you, yes?"
"Yeah we did."
"Great that you got there first. If Sabio Second got it first, he would have given it to Sabio First at first."
"Then?"
"Then...he would investigate about it whilst I would take readymade proofs from father and hand it to the judge."
"You thought things that far huh...But isn't taking the case as far as the court a bit too much?"
"Yes, that's why I told you that your arrival has saved me two days. Thanks to the God."
Fedyenka stayed silent.
"Fedyenka. Are you alright?" said Martina.
"Yes...I am. It's just that..."
"It's just what?" said Felix.
"Who is our God? I mean...I know that there has to be one and only God but who is it?" said Fedyenka.
"We don't have any direct proof about it. It is said that the proofs are sealed away because of certain reasons." said Sabia Fourth.
"Oh...I guess we'll talk about it some other time then."
"Yes, hear me out now. Do we have the knife?"
"Yes, Your Highness. I have it in my pocket. Your father hid it to give it to someone trustworthy. He entrusted it to me."
"Thank you Sabia Fourth. Do we have any record about the person's fingerprint?"
"Wait." said Fedyenka.
"What is it, Fedyenka?"
"Ugh...my head is spinning sorry. Go on"
"We have to get the maid in our custody now."
"Oh...okay." said Fedyenka while nodding.
Felix told them that he is leaving for now. But he won't leave the kingdom and that he will send them letters by a pigeon. Then he left.
"Martina."
"Yes, Fedyenka. I assume you are also thinking the same thing I am thinking."
"He is not my brother."
"He indeed isn't. He is someone who knows forbidden alchemy."
"Martina, do you use it too?"
"Yes...I do." said Martina while going toward Fedyenka.
"Why is it forbidden?"
"Because if it's in the wrong hands, it can be used to conquer the world and lead it in a wrong way"
"What do you mean by, 'wrong way'?"
"The way, the ever burning Lord of Devils would rule the world."
