Seeing the horrific face, she screamed lightly and got up, then backed away.
"Oh Miss Charlotte. What a pleasant surprise!" said the counselor after he came back.
"Oh counselor. You flatter me. What is Fedyenka doing here? Wasn't she supposed to be at her combat training?" said the woman with horrific face. What was more horrific that, everyone was staring at her like she is a beauty.
"Yuri, take her with you." said the counselor and then he was busy with the woman.
"To where?" asked Fedyenka. The moment she said that, Yuri grabbed her collar then threw her on one of the broken desks.
"Do you really think that you can just ask whatever and we will answer it? As a researcher, every second has value. You are ruining my precious time."
Fedyenka spitted blood. Then she got up and said, "Maybe spending your 'precious time' on me a bit won't cause you so many trouble. I don't have any purpose to live but you guys seem to have a purpose to save me. I can sense that much. If I don't find anything fun in living then I'll kill myself. I don't know how but, I somehow know a lot of way to take lives."
Fedyenka got a wound on her face from the throw. Some sort of white substance covered that part that came out of nowhere and healed it.
"My my. Now I know why they like you so much. Come with me, you're gonna be my favorite." said Yuri while walking toward her.
"Whatever."
They walked to an elevator. It went to the one hundredth floor. The door of the elevator opened and she saw pretty much the same place as the previous one. It was full of weapons. There was one uncommon thing. There was a room in the room. She asked him about it. He replied,
"It's a simulation room. You will face real life combat training. There won't be another you. Even if we waste even one nanometer neuron of you, it's still a great waste."
"I don't feel THAT special."
"If you weren't then we would throw you away."
"You mean decompose me."
"Yeah how did you know that? Hm...I think it's the same case as when a baby is in the womb."
"What?"
Yuri threw a knife at her. She dodged it. He said, "Do address me a little more respectfully, will you?"
"Yes, uhm...what should I call you?"
"Call me...meh, just call me Yuri or Sir or whatever. Just don't give me a weird nickname, Fed."
"I definitely will." said Fedyenka. Yuri threw another knife at her. She dodged that as well.
Yuri led her to a place which had a lot of devices. He told her that he will activate it. Since she is a newbie, he'll put it in easy mode and it will throw tennis balls.
"Ah, before that. I want to see which weapon you are the most comfortable with." said Yuri. He handed her a sword and threw an apple at her. She couldn't cut it evenly.
"Huh...Now take this." said Yuri while handing her a gun. He drew a circle with some honey on the apple and told her to shoot in it. She shot the bullet somewhere else of the apple. It wasn't a bullseye. Yuri then gave her a gauntlet and told her,
"Try to flow your energy into it."
"How?"
"Like how you...ugh...well when you want to punch something hard what do you do?"
"I...don't remember punching anything."
Yuri told her to punch on the air with all her strength. She gathered all her strength and punched and a great amount of energy got transported to the gauntlet and then it exploded. The explosion caused Fedyenka's arm to blow off as well. She screamed in pain. Soon, the same white substance covered her arm and slowly regenerated it.
"Oh...That was my favorite gauntlet." said Yuri with a sad face.
"Why was it your favorite?" asked Fedyenka.
"W-Why the hell wouldn't it be my favorite? It was the one which could store the most energy."
"Sorry."
"You are too much sympathetic."
"You and the old man are two peas in a pod. Wait, where did I know about it?"
"You won't remember anything. Don't stress out too much about it."
"Okay."
"I shouldn't have given you the gauntlet. It was my fault your hand got blown off."
"Wow you are so proud about it. A-w-e-s-o-m-e." said Fedyenka with a face as if she was making fun of him.
"I am not proud about it you little brat. I think sword suits you the best for now."
Yuri handed her a sword.
"This sword looks kinda lame." said Fedyenka.
"I know, this is why I gave it to you." said Yuri.
"I'll make it look pretty."
"Don't do anything to it. It's a lame sword but it's a sword many people uses for training. So don't think that this lame sword will be your companion for lifetime."
"Great!"
Yuri did some adjustments and then activated the device. It was throwing the tennis balls slow at first. It seemed easy to Fedyenka. But little by little, it got fast. Fedyenka could still keep up. Then it got even faster, she couldn't keep up anymore so Yuri stopped it.
"You still have a lot of room for improvement. You are nothing to me yet you have thrown a big challenge. I feel pity on you."
Fedyenka stayed silent because she was doing the combat training out of curiosity not out of ambition.
"Hey, Yuri. How old am I?" said Fedyenka.
"You...well you have the body of a fifteen years old but I don't know about your mind and soul. Maybe...six months?"
"What? that sounds crazy."
"No more chitchat. Keep practicing with it. After Phantom comes you are gonna have a fight. We have to test your limits."
"Why make me fight with my brother?"
"Because he is your rival."
Fedyenka kept practicing with the sword. She cut most of the balls as if it was her instinct. She wondered, "Have I ever used a sword before?"
She got lost in her own thoughts. When she spaced out completely, a ball hit her nose.
"Ouch!"
"Don't space out. Oh you have finally came. There she is, your sister." said Yuri.
"So you are that so called brat. Move, Yuri. We are gonna have a fight." said Phantom with his stern face.
"Yes." said Fedyenka with her neutral face.
"You two are gonna have a fight here?!? No, at least move to the field before doing it." said Yuri.
"We are not gonna have a fight here of course. Come with me, Fedyenka."
Fedyenka started going with him. She still kept pondering about the message she saw earlier. Seeing her stern face Phantom thought she must be observing him.
"We're here." said Phantom.
"Now, you and me are gonna have a fight. I will prove that you are nothing but a grain of rice to me."
"Rice is at least rich right?"
"What?"
"I read somewhere while cleaning the lab that rice is rich in many things. Doesn't that mean I'm rich when it comes to several things too?"
"You and your idiotic thoughts. Scram!" said Phantom. He got behind her in a blink of an eye and held her, then released a great amount of energy through the gauntlet he was wearing. It was a big explosion. There were smoke all over the place and blood on the ground.
"I bet you aren't dead yet. Don't make me kill you."
"How the hell am I making you kill me again?" said Fedyenka from a distance.
"H-How could be? How is it possible."
Fedyenka stood still with her right side blown off except her right leg. She regenerated like last times. But she couldn't regenerate fully. It was taking some time.
"I tried throwing off some energy from my right arm. It didn't turn out so well though." said Fedyenka.
"How can you release raw energy without gauntlets? What are you? You are no human." said Phantom with his voice astonished by what he just saw.
"I don't even know about that. If you tell me then I might let you finish me."
"Really? You aren't a bit afraid that I will tell you and then you will have to let me kill you? I mean I can kill you with all the power I have right now without a hinch, but it would destroy the purpose I would kill you for."
"I'm not afraid." said Fedyenka while slowly going towards him. Then she looked up to him and said, "Now...spit it."
