"Oh...Okay. Aren't you gonna tell me more about it?" said Fedyenka.
"No, not now. We have to go to my lab now." said Yuri.
"So that place is your lab huh."
"It was just a lab before but now it is pretty much your own training hall."
"Oh."
"Are you ignoring me?"
Even though Fedyenka was trying to ignore him she still replied, "No, why would I?"
"Hmm..."
When they reached the hall, she saw Abir along with some guapas. They were holding some devices.
"Hey Mr. Abir." said Fedyenka.
"Hello. How have you been? By the way, my first name is Abir. If you are willing to call me adding a 'Mr.' call me Mr. Roy" said Abir.
"Okay Mr. Roy. What are these things you guys are holding?"
"These are called Mana Tester is simple terms. I believe you know what mana is."
"Yes I do. Mana means magical energy. Magical energy don't exist in real life so our raw energy is considered as mana."
"Good. Now answer me this, what is a chimera?"
"It is any creature with more than one distinct genotype."
"Okay. How would you explain yourself as a soul?"
"I am a soul with a determined goal and boundless curiosity."
"Very well. Now my final question for you, what is your goal?"
Fedyenka without a hinch answered, "My goal is to be a wanderer."
"Oh? Is that it? Interesting. You have passed the exam with a perfect score. Your father has taught you well. I have to give you most of the credit though, Yuri slacks off a lot."
Fedyenka smiled knowing that she passed with a perfect score. Yuri patted her on the head and said, "You did it!"
"No she didn't. It's just the primary stage." said Abir.
"I know but give her some praise." said Yuri.
"You care too much about your hatchling."
"Hey stop saying stuffs like that. It's effing embarrassing." said Fedyenka with a shy and angry face.
"Your cheeks are red. Anyway I will be leaving now. Here is the entry card. Keep it to yourself with care. The seminar starts from tomorrow." said Abir. Right after he finished his words, he left along with the guapas.
"Hey Yuri, why are people saying that you are my father? It's embarrassing." said Fedyenka with a flustered voice.
"Oh? Feeling bad to hear that? I have your custody so yes, I am your father. Do call me that if you don't feel that bad."
"Uhm..."
Fedyenka couldn't say another word. She told him that she is going to her room. Yuri didn't stop and yet he pretended to stop her, reaching his hands. Fedyenka went to her room and found Bea resting. She went towards Bea and patted her on the head. She lit up for a moment and did the 'Bee' sound like how a cat would purr when it is patted in deep sleep. She slept as well.
She saw a dream once again. This time, she sought a big palace. A young man walked toward her and started giving her an earful. She could only see him speak but couldn't hear a word he was saying. His hair was white. A woman came from behind him and smiled at her. She started spitting blood after a while. The man fell on the ground and blood was draining from his ears, nose and mouth. Seeing all that, Fedyenka woke up. She breathed heavily. She looked at the side table and found a letter. It was said in the letter,
"After you wake up, come to the seashore. You know where it is."
-Yuri AKA your dad"
"That damn young fart. He's just like the old fart." said Fedyenka with an annoyed tone of voice.
She brushed her teeth. Took off her sleepwear and wore a new dress. Did her hair with her hands and left the room. She went to the place Bea led her to last time. The place she has breakfasts at. She went there and headed downstairs to go to the seashore. She saw Yuri there.
"You are here. Didn't feel any need to say hello eh?" said Yuri while throwing a stone in the ocean.
"Hello....I guess." said Fedyenka.
"Humph...Wanna know why I called you here?"
"Yeah."
"Such a straightforward answer. Well I called you here to tell you something. If I ever die will you miss me?"
"I don't know."
"You still don't understand the depth of empathy you feel towards people, I see. Don't worry, you will know it by time."
"Why were you asking me that in all of a sudden?"
"It is because, I might die someday. Leaving you all alone. You have to live by yourself then. Don't make me yell at you from the other side when the time comes."
Fedyenka was thinking about how he always talks to her as if she is his very own child.
"Are you going to die soon?" said Fedyenka with a face of a child.
"What if I tell you that I will."
Fedyenka stared at him wide-eyed. She didn't say a single word. She started thinking what she would do if he wasn't there for her.
"Ha ha. Did I stir you up, little Fed?"
"Uh...Yes. I feel weird."
"It's called sadness dummy. Your eyes are watery."
"Hu-HUh?"
"Ha ha. Well if you ever miss me when I'm gone just write a letter to me, wrap the paper on a pebble and throw it in the sea. You might feel better."
"Why all the trouble when I know that you won't even know what's written on the letter?"
"The trouble? For you of course."
"H-How much time you've got?"
"Well I don't know maybe a hundred year. I'm something that was modified after birth after all."
"YOU BIG OLD FART-"
Right at the moment, Yuri slapped on her mouth and told her to shut up. Then he told her,
"I'm telling you all these because you live for thousands of years. Don't let anyone's absence make you feel miserable. The ones from the other side can sometime know what you are doing yet they cannot do anything about it."
Fedyenka nodded her head and said, "I will meet the people I care 'bout on the other side anyway. I won't lead a miserable life don't worry."
"Good. Now Fed, don't look miserable in front of the cameras, okay? I won't be there when the seminar will begin."
"I'm not a baby, I'll be okay."
"I know that you will but you know..."
"I know what?"
"So you don't know. Aight now go back to your room. They are gonna be here any moment."
"How did you know that I'm gonna wake up now?"
"Just go."
Fedyenka left the place in a hurry without another word. On the way, she bumped into Phantom.
"Stop." said Phantom reaching his hands to stop her.
"What is it, bro? I'm starving. Let me go."
"Is you starvation more important than the things I'm about to tell you in your opinion?"
"Uh...no."
"Then listen. I'm gonna be like a DPS check dummy in the seminar. But this dummy will attack. I'm gonna go all out on you so, be prepared."
Fedyenka stayed silent being lost. She didn't know what to do but she didn't lose heart.
"I guess I should go and check the books in the library. Maybe the books has some advice for me about fast beings like him." thought Fedyenka.
Fedyenka headed straight toward the library. She found in one of the books that some fast creatures lack stamina while all of them can't be on their guards while running or sprinting. Reading that, she straightly headed to the Hall of the Greats to find Kristen.
"Kristen. You here?"
She saw Kristen wearing a headset. Perhaps it was used to avoid any interruption. So she waited patiently. After a while, Kristen took off her headset. Her hair got stuck with it a little. Seeing her golden hair being stuck struck Fedyenka's heart a little so she helped her with it.
"Thanks Fed. What are you doing here?"
"I came here to ask you something. Can you tell me a way to beat my brother? At least a way to dodge his attacks?"
"Well about dodging, it's not something you or anyone can dodge. Even computers can't detect his presence when he sprints with all his power. But, you can make a shield."
"How can I make a shield in two hours?!?"
"You can make shield using gauntlets. Aight look, I can't train you about it right now. Just...imagine all your mana flowing through your hands and taking the form of a shield. Your mana is pure white. You can make an excellent transparent shield with it."
"How about...an invisible shield?"
"Ha ha. You can try. I gotta get back to work now."
Fedyenka left the place and got back to her room. Gathering all the courage she has, she got ready for the big day. Bea was charged up already so she could lead her to the helipad. She got on the helicopter. The pilot took off. When it left the ground, Fedyenka's heart started beating fast. She kept recalling all the important lessons she has gotten so far from everyone. For some reasons, the seminar felt like a big step toward the answer she was looking for to her. While she was on the way, she asked the guapa sitting with her if she has any food for her. She gave her some pizza. She was delighted that it wasn't some salad Yuri has prepared for her. She started eating it but suddenly she stopped. Thinking that she still doesn't know what's wrong with Yuri, gave her another thing to be anxious over.
