Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: A Grave Mistake

When Phantom fell on the ground, Fedyenka stared at him wide eyed. She rushed off to him. A lot of guapas and doctors gathered all at once. He was taken away to the medical facility immediately. Fedyenka had no other choice but to stare at the occurrence that happened because of her overpower. People gathered all over her. Her face was partially covered with her brother's blood. She stood still like that. She blamed no one but herself. The counselor came to her and said,

"Fedyenka, don't stress out about it. It was Phantom's fault not yours."

Fedyenka couldn't stand still at the moment. After unleashing such powerful strike for the first time, which was two times stronger than the one unleashed before, she fell on the ground and lost consciousness. Right after she fell asleep she saw another dream. In that dream, she saw a distinguish gentleman sipping on a cup of tea and talking with her. His hair was black like Fedyenka's and his voice was deep yet relaxing. Suddenly she felt like her vision was getting blurry. The man slowly faded away in darkness. He wanted to reach out to him but then again, she fell in an endless pit. She woke up and found herself in the medical facility. The counselor stayed by her side along with Yuri. They were having a conversation. They yet was not aware that Fedyenka is awake. She closed her eyes again and heard their conversation.

"Yuri, my boy. Don't you think that you have taken a devil in disguise under your wings?" said the counselor.

"No father. She is just a kid!" said Yuri.

"Do you think she will forgive you when she knows her origin?"

"She will know eventually and I am ready for that day."

"Yuri, you see my granddaughter in her don't you? It's a delusion. She is dead. She will never come back. My little pebble is dead. WHY CAN'T YOU BELIEVE THIS TRUTH?!?"

"I do believe this truth father. Fedyenka is Fedyenka herself. There is nothing common with my daughter. Well yes both of them are stubborn."

"ARE stubborn?"

"Yes. She exists! In another world where I will go once I die."

The counselor's eyes teared up seeing his son like this.

"YURI!" said the counselor.

"Shh...Fedyenka will wake up if you shout that loud. I gave her propofol. She will take some time to wake up. Okay back to the point, look father, I know that I am fucking depressed and truth be told, I don't give a damn about it. Look father, you see her as a threat but I see her as a gift." said Yuri.

"A GIFT?!? Yuri are you starting to think like them?"

"Father, why are you shouting out so loud?"

"Ughh...I don't want to waste another second on you. Go live your life with this bloody brat who can't even control her power. She will kill all of us!"

Saying that, the counselor slammed the door and left. Fedyenka got up from the bed and stared at her without any expression like a doll.

"Wait a minute. How can you-" said Yuri.

"Sorry for hearing all that without your permission." said Fedyenka.

"Hear me out, you did NOT HEAR ANYTHING. You get that?"

"Sheesh! You both shout a lot."

"We will talk about this. Later."

Yuri left the room as well. Then he opened the door again like he always does.

"Ah yes. I almost forgot to tell you, you can't go out. If you do you are gonna be in prison. Goodbye."

Then he slammed the door and left again.

Fedyenka laid down on the bed again. She was thinking, "Only if I practiced a little more...Why am I even feeling bad for him? He has always been an asshole to me. Maybe something made him like this but still...what have I done to him. It really was his fault...maybe."

In that moment she has forgotten about the message. She laid down on the bed for hours. No one came. She was starving. She felt cold in the room and started finding the remote to turn the AC off. She got off from the bed with the blanket around her and started searching for it. While searching, she saw a fridge in the room and opened it. She saw some cold curry. She had no other choice but to eat it cold while watching the TV in the room. The headline was, "The beast rises! No one might live."

"These reporters. I curse them to have diarrhea forever." said Fedyenka while laughing a bit on her own. But the laugh didn't last so long. She wanted to cheer herself up but she couldn't. Every news headlines were the same.

"Aghh. I guess I'll just go back to sleep."

She closed her eyes but she couldn't sleep. She stared at the celling wide-eyed. She started counting sheep.

"One hundred and fifth sheep. One hundred and sixth sheep...One hundred and-"

Fedyenka started to feel nauseous. Her vision was blurry again. She started hallucinating. She saw the same woman she dreamt about last time. She came to her. But this time her glimpse wasn't so warm and cozy. It felt cold. When she looked at it it started crying and vomiting blood. She could see that she is laying in the middle of a garden. She couldn't take it all anymore. She closed her eyes and screamed out loud. When she opened her eyes slowly, she could see a nurse waiting for her with a hot meal for her.

"B-Bella?"

"What? Miss Fedyenka are you alright?"

At the moment she got back some memories about Bella within a brief moment but she still couldn't remember who she was. She also remembered Queen Maria, King Oleg and partially Prince Felix. In all of a sudden, a group of people walked in wearing medical aprons.

"Fedyenka. Your brain has some complication. Please allow us to treat you. I hope you will co-operate with us."

Fedyenka started acting as if she is insane. She threw everything here and there. The whole place was a mess. The soup that was brought to Fedyenka was on the ground. The sink in the room was broken. She screamed as if she is feeling an immense pain. The doctors left the room immediately. When they left she sat still kneeling on the bed. Then she rolled over while thinking of a way to get out. After some time, she heard a click on the door.

"Fedyenka what are you doing?" said Yuri.

"Huh...Y-Yuri...I feel like...Ha ha. I AM INSANE!" said Fedyenka.

"Fed, look at me. How are you feeling?"

"I feel great!"

"..."

"Why are you so quiet. Come on talk to me."

"Aight lemme turn the AC off. You are hallucinating right?"

"W-What?"

"Yes you are. You have been in this white room for straight twenty four hours without any warmth."

Fedyenka was pretending to be insane but in reality, she was feeling insane a little because of the sudden change of environment and white room treatment.

"Everything is alright now. No need to feel like that. You are not a threat. Not to me." said Yuri while patting on her head slowly.

Fedyenka slowly got in his arms and stared at the doctors like a hawk. She pushed Yuri aside gently and got off the bed to go towards them. They backed away from her. She simply asked a question, "Where is Phantom. I gotta talk to him."

"He is still recovering." said one of the doctors.

"Lies..." said Fedyenka calmly.

"Why would we-"

Fedyenka grabbed on of their collars and said,

"Where is he? Take me there."

"We don't know."

"People say, we will know everything once we die."

"No! Please no! I really don't know. He knows."

He pointed at the doctor who was telling Fedyenka to 'co-operate' with them. She rushed to him and said, "Spit it."

The doctor gave death stare to the previous one. He said,

"Fedyenka, even after you have done such grave mistake, you still think that you can easily talk to your brother from now on?"

"I didn't do anything on purpose and also, doesn't he have the same regeneration system as mine? I am pretty sure that he is alright now. I have to tell him something."

"You can tell it to me. I will deliver the message to him."

"Who are you to deliver the message to him? Are you a sage?"

"Yes. I am Mikhail Dimitrovich, the eighteenth sage."

Fedyenka let go of his collars and backed away. She said,

"Why was a sage like you going to operate my brain? You handle the works about commerce right?"

"I believe he has not taught you manners yet."

"I have no interest to show my etiquette to a person like you."

"I see. Do you want me to pressurize you a little to listen to my words?"

Fedyenka got raged up. She flowed her mana through her hands to go and punch him. Yuri held her hands from behind her and said,

"He is giving you a bluff. Don't do it."

"So, you are on this mere child's side." said Mikhail.

"I don't do 'sides' Sabio Eighteenth. She is just a kid under my custody like many others like Ae-Ri. Well yes she is a modified being but still she is a kid. Why would I take a kid's side?"

"If the kid is on the right side of course."

Fedyenka interrupted and said,

"Why can't I visit my brother?"

"It is because he doesn't wish to see you right now." said the sage.

"Okay..."

"Did you believe what I said?"

"Yeah. I man he has always been like this. So I'm not surprised that he doesn't want to see me after doing something that wasn't even my fault in the first place."

"You are not wrong yet you are not entirely right."

Sabio Eighteenth left the room with the other person.

"Yuri, where is my brother?" said Fedyenka.

"He is in this building."

"Ugh. None of your answers are straightforward. Where is he in the building?"

"On the second floor."

Aight Imma head off then. Yuri took his pen from the pocket and threw the same blue substance, the counselor used to put Phantom to sleep, at her. She was put to sleep at the exact moment.
