Chapter 55 - 55 - Morning

There were still a few hours until morning by the time Jack had stopped his practice, when he went back to the living room he figure he shouldn't be getting any more practice in before the investigation crew came to show the family what they got.

Jack sat down and turned the TV on with the little energy he had remaining.

As he watches TV he kept getting distracted by thoughts of the crew coming and his resolve to see what happens when he clicks continue on the notification after they show the family the evidence.

He knows he has to man up and see what happens eventually but he is now debating if he should stay here till he has practiced and experimented with his abilities more or just YOLO it and hope for the best.

After thinking about it for a while, he decides that if he doesn't stick to his resolve to do it when he was going to, he would always just keep pushing it back.

However, that doesn't mean he can't still practice once more before or during the evidence showing.

He was tempted to do it twice but then he figured that he should probably make sure he is full of energy before he clicks the notification.

just in case someone bad happens.

Jack has already died once and then almost died again if he didn't have spirit healing.

He really doesn't want to experience it again.

As Jack was deep in thought about the evidence, his practice, and what comes next, time unknowingly passed quickly.

Jack was woken from his thoughts when he heard the master bedroom door open and as he turned he saw Sarah come out.

Sarah exited the bedroom and peeked into the living room to check for anything out of place.

she saw nothing so she then walked past the entryway and entered the kitchen so she could start breakfast.

Today was a Saturday so David and Angelica should be home all day.

Jack wondered if they were going to keep Angelica here when the crew came.

They tried to make sure she was not involved as much as possible before after all.

Jack turned the TV off and stood before he walked out of the living room and entered the kitchen behind Sarah since he was bored of watching TV.

He absentmindedly watched Sarah make breakfast for a while before he heard someone close a door and head to the kitchen.

'David is coming.' Jack thought as it couldn't possibly be Angelica.

Soon as he thought David entered and sat at the table.

"Morning dear." Sarah greeted David with a smile.

"Good morning. " David replied tiredly.

Jack noticed that David was half asleep in his chair and nodding off.

'I wonder why he is so tired this morning?' Jack questioned when he saw David almost falling asleep at the table.

Unknown to him David had a nightmare about being chased by a bunch of teddy bears and couldn't sleep well all night long.

"You didn't sleep well last night?" Sarah noticed as well and armed David.

"huh?" David was half asleep so his brain took a few seconds to register her question.

"No, no, I got fine, I just woke up and so on still a little sleepy." David eventually reacted when his brain was able to process her question.

"It's a Saturday so you can sleep in if you want. " Sarah replied.

"It is?" David didn't even realize, he felt time flew so fast this week with everything going on.

"I should have stayed in bed..." David grumbled but he knew it was too late, he was ready mostly awake now.

"So the investigators should be coming this afternoon, right?" Sarah asked for clarification.

"Yes, so they said. " David confirmed.

"Why?" He asked curiously.

"Well, What should we do with Angelica?" Sarah questioned as she thought about if she wanted her daughter involved in ghost hunting.

There are all kinds of evil ghost stories and she doesn't want her daughter to be taking risks.

"Hmm, she should be fine if we just have her stay in her room right?" David tried to think of something they could do but didn't come up with anything they haven't done recently.

"It's not like we can have her go to a friend or our family on such short notice or something again..."

"We already did that once, if we do that too many times it might bother them." David reasoned.

"I suppose..." Sarah reluctantly agreed that she didn't want to impose on any friends or family.

She was sure they would not think of it as imposing for a favor but still...

"I just don't want her to be at risk even if we know Jack won't hurt us."

"But these investigators also investigate other places and who knows what kinds of so-called 'Attachments' that they have and bring with them."

Sarah spoke her thoughts to David as she remembered some things she read about after she got curious about Jack after the investigation.

She kind of regretted their seance because it could have gone very bad if they weren't careful.

She also regrets letting the investigators come into their house but it was already too late and she couldn't cry over spilled milk.

Jack listened to their conversation and was surprised and frightened at Sarah's thoughts.

Jack was surprised at Sarah's knowledge about ghosts.

He was also frightened at the thought that they might have attachments.

However, after thinking about anything abnormal that he might have seen, he couldn't remember seeing anything that indicated attachments so he sighed in relief.

'Lucky.' Jack thought.

'Depending on places they have investigated, only God knows what evil things could have attached to them.' Jack was frightened just thinking about demons or witches.

While Jack was frightened the couple's conversation continued.

"It should be fine."

"Otherwise Jack would have warned us, right?"

David said hopefully as he explained his reasoning and comforted his worried wife.

"I hope, he did supposedly warn us of the intruder." Sarah accepted her husband's reasoning even if it didn't seem trustworthy considering David constantly getting scared by Jack's "pranks".
