While Jack waited for his energy to regenerate he wondered what Sarah and Angelica were doing.
Jack walked to the stairs to the main hallway and then walked toward the living room where he heard Sarah.
As he entered he saw Sarah watching TV while Angelica played with her toys.
Seeing that they were just doing their normal daily activities, Jack sat next to Sarah and watched TV with her since he couldn't do much else with low energy.
....
An hour later Jack as well as the mother and daughter heard the front door open before David enter while yelling,
"I'm home!!"
Angelica heard her father and immediately stopped what she was doing to run toward him.
David saw her and kneeled with his arm wide open in anticipation of his daughter's warm welcome.
Angelica didn't disappoint him and leaped into his arms for a hug.
"Hey sweetheart, how are you, did you have fun at school, did you miss me?" David rapidly fired questions at her as he stood up and lifted her with him.
"Slow down and ask one question at a time." Sarah walked out of the living room and reprimanded him for not giving Angelica a chance to answer one question before asking another.
"Good, yes, and yes. " Angelica replied as she hugged her father tightly.
David ignored his wife's reprimand and focused on his lovely daughter.
"Daddy missed you too." David smooched her little head after he said that.
"Stopp" Angelica tried to escape her father's love by blocking her face with one hand while pushing him away with the other.
Sarah being ignored shook her head with a wry smile.
This father-and-daughter duo was too much sometimes.
After David was satisfied he let her down before giving his wife a hug and kiss too.
Jack saw that today seemed to be one of those days where this family became extra sweet and gag-inducing so he walked back to the living room to continue watching TV while he waited for his energy.
Jack noticed that they sometimes have these cringe-worthy happy family moments, so he started getting used to tuning them out.
Not long later the family joined him in the living room.
....
After a few more hours Jack saw that his energy had regenerated to a good amount so he got up to go to the basement.
This time he wasn't going to try and hold the image for long instead he was just going to try to form it as quickly as possible.
As soon as he forms it he is going to disperse it and try again.
As he left he absentmindedly noticed Sarah leave as well, except she headed to the kitchen.
'She must be going to make dinner.' Jack thought as he made his way to the basement door before heading down the stairs.
After Jack reached the basement, he immediately put his palm face up and tried to picture the ball of mist in his mind.
Half a minute later the ball of mist slowly gathered in a swirling motion into a ball.
As soon as the ball was formed Jack stopped imaging it and let it disperse.
'That's too long, It took about 30 seconds...' Jack thought and checked his energy to make sure he could do it again.
He barely lost any so he tried again.
Jack practiced this repeatedly over the next hour before he stopped when he noticed his energy was low.
Jack tried to heal himself but it didn't work.
'Good, I didn't hurt myself by doing that.'
'However, I was only able to get it down to taking 25 seconds at my fastest time.'
Jack's time to form the ball of mist did get faster and faster the more he tried.
But doing this repeatedly was tiring him a lot so sometimes he took over 40 seconds to a minute to form the mist.
'Sigh... I might as well go see what the family is up to.' Jack thought sighing at his slow progress.
Jack walked up the stairs and when he reached the living room entryway he noticed no one was there.
'They must be in the kitchen.' Jack assumed since he did take a while in his experiments so they should already be eating.
He made his way into the kitchen and just as he guessed they were eating, but he also noticed that they were almost finished.
As he got closer he heard them discussing the investigators.
"You haven't received a call yet?" Sarah asked David as she picked up her empty plate and brought it to the sink for cleaning.
"No, but I'm sure it will be tomorrow at the latest, don't worry I haven't forgotten what you wanted to ask them. " David reassured his wife.
"What do you think they caught?"
"Some new things have been happening here since they left. " Sarah remembered the mist and teddy bear and stated.
"We'll see soon, hopefully. " David replied.
Having said that they both enjoyed a comfortable silence while Sarah cleaned up after dinner.
Suddenly the silence was broken by David's phone ringing.
David tried to quickly bring it out of his pocket but fumbled in his expectation and almost dropped it.
Luckily he managed to catch it.
Once it was safely in his hand he checked the caller ID.
"It's James..." David said in surprise to his wife.
He thought that since it was late that they would call tomorrow.
"Well hurry up and answer it, don't just stare at it!" Sarah told him.
"Hello, David speaking."
David snapped out of it and answered the phone.
"Hello David, it's James."
"Sorry for calling so late but the team and I are excited to share with you what we have found."
"Is tomorrow a good time?" James asked.
"Sure no problem. " David replied.
"Good we'll be there in the afternoon, we won't have any cameras with us, See you then!"
"Oh, alright."
After David agreed surprised that James was in a hurry and hung up immediately after telling him the time and he didn't even get a chance to say much.
"Well, what did he say?" Sarah asked.
"He said they will come tomorrow in the afternoon without cameras. " David informed his wife.
"Great! I can't wait." Sarah was excited to see what they caught on camera.
Meanwhile, Jack was relieved they weren't coming today.
