What the hell just happened? Did Kontas just abandon her l? No, Kontas will never do that.
"Kontas, Kontas"Madison yelled looking around the forest.
She has a bad feeling about this place.
As Madison attempted to stand up, she fell back to the ground due to the pain she felt in her leg.
Looking at her leg, she saw that the cloth she wore was already torn from the knee side to where the cloth stopped, and she could visibly see the cut on her leg, which she was sure was going to leave a scar.
She wondered how many scars she has already.
Slowly lifting herself, she ignored the agonizing pain she felt and stood up. Supporting her weight on the good leg as she headed nowhere particularly, she didn't want to stay where she was for any other second.
Kontas didn't like the fact that he left Madison all alone, but he was given no choice, if he stayed with her, she will be in trouble because he won't be able to defend both of them with his energy gate spelled.
He can't even kill the bastard that attacked them.
"Prince Kontas, you shouldn't have left your comfort zone, powerless. Your gate of energy I only opened when you go to war, but right now, I bet is locked" one of the assassins asked. Ignoring his question, Kontas asked, still not taking his eyes off every step that they made.
"Tell me, who sent you? My father?or Khron?"
"You are still being cocky I see, maybe if you receive two or more beatings, you will know that you aren't in your palace" one of the guys snarled.
"Come to think of it, where is the human? I saw them both fall" the first guy asks again looking around for Madison.
At the mention of Madison's name, Kontas shoulders tensed.
This wasn't good, he can't let them catch Madison. He could defend himself but if Madison was to be with him, he would be distracted, but now they were looking for her. He was going to kill them before they can even find her.
"Lydian" Kontas called to Lydian telepathically.
"My prince, why does your voice sound so…."
"Just listen to me, Catelyn and I have been attacked, and I may not be able to contact you again after these. I want you to come to the border between Begtuok and Azalea, the thick dark forest in Azalea, that's where we are. Find Catelyn and take her back to the palace" Kontas said, and immediately he was done, he cut the connection between them.
"I hate getting my hand dirty" he muttered, invoking his sword out of tin air.
At least he was glad he could do that with his energy gate spell.
"Who does this bastard think he is, kill him, I don't care how you do it? Just do it. I will take care of the human"the first guy whom Kontas decided was the lead yelled as the others all obeyed and attack Kontas all at once.
Madison didn't know where she was going, but she was as hell not going to just stand still.
She managed to stop the bleeding that was rushing out from her injured leg, but it was still obvious she had an injury due to the way she was leaping.
As she was still roaming about the forest, she heard a sound, and she wished she never stopped because it seemed like they were just waiting for her to stop, and immediately she did, she was surrounded by three huge men with their face masks.
"Wow, they never told us she was this beautiful"one of the guys said, making an inhuman sound.
"Are you sure she is human? Because she doesn't look anything like a human" the short guy said observing Madison.
The guy was being so observant, and Madison knew that he was going to be a tough one to deceive.
She knew by looking at them that the two tall and huge guys weren't smart, but she was very weary of the observant one.
Even though she escapes from the rest, she knew escaping from the short guy was going to be tough.
"What are you talking about Adon?" the third guy smirked, patting the guy whose name was Adon on the shoulder.
"You guys shouldn't mind Adon, you know he's always been too sensitive," a new voice said from behind Madison, but she didn't turn, she remains rooted to her spot with her eyes fixed on Adon who was the biggest threat to her.
"Are you guys blind? Can't you even notice the slightest thing? And she isn't even hiding it. The way she glared at us, the way she didn't even flinch when Jerrick suddenly appears behind her and most importantly, the way she isn't scared of us. Does all that scream human".
Wow! seems like he was the only smart person in their must.
Standing directly at Madison's front, Adon leveled his eyes on her and ask,
"you aren't human, are you?". Keeping a calm face, Madison asked back,
"what are you talking about?"
"Am not stupid, I know that you are not human" he said with all conviction.
He was good, Madison would give him that. She didn't know why she was suddenly acting like James Bond, but she wanted to put these men in their place.
How dare they attack her and Kontas? She was going to teach them a lesson today?
"I never said you were stupid, you were just so smart for your good and there is something we human also says, curiosity kills the cat" she grinned making the guy take a step back from her.
That was right, he should be scared.
"Damn these body! It's so weak. But I think I can handle you guys perfectly well. I have dealt with enough scumbags like you". Tiring a piece of her cloth, she used it to wrap her knuckles and another piece to tie her hair.
She intended to share her secret on a special day, but it seems like that special day has to wait because she needs to deal with some trash.
Before she was done parking her hair into a ponytail, one of the guys came at her, throwing a punch that she easily avoided before landing her own on his rib cage, making the guy go down instantly.
When the others saw how one of their own went down with just a bunch, they unclenched the swords, invoking magic and spells into their swords.
So, the assassins were sorcerers? Madison noted.
They all came at her at once, but she easily avoided all their swords except for Adon who cut her on the shoulder and was about to stab her, but she stopped the sword from reaching her chest with her hand.
"Seems like I have gotten weak due to lack of training, I should train more from now don't you think?" she asked Adon whose eyes widen when he saw her bend his sword to his neck.
"You know, once I take a step now, you are dead?" she asked the trembling guy
"You should be happy I hate the sight of death and blood, if not, your head will have rolling around in the ground. I won't kill you, but if I as much as see your face again, I know that it can give a slow, agonizing death". With that being said, Madison hit him with the head of the sword on his head, making her go unconscious.
' What a weak piece of shit' Madison thought as she turned to go look for Kontas, but froze when she saw the last person she wanted to see her at that moment
