"Ko… Kontas" Madison stuttered as she saw Kontas just standing there looking at her with wide eyes.
Looks like who he came to save didn't need saving after all.
" You did all these?" he asked, pointing at the motionless bodies laying on the floor.
"No … I mean yes. Is not actually what you think" she defended waving her hands all over the place trying to come up with anything to say but for the first time, she didn't have any excuse.
"How can a human take down four sorcerers? Isn't that just remarkable? Or were you lying about being human?" he asked, all at once.
"No, I didn't lie. I don't know what got into me, and I just…"
"You should know by now that making excuses doesn't suit you. Anyway, we will talk about that later, I'm glad you are alright. Let's leave here first".
Clenching onto her hand, he led her out of the thick forest to a place there was a shade of light and trees weren't everywhere.
"How do you find the way out of the forest?" Madison asked.
" When I, was chasing one of the sorcerers. I have telepathically called Lydian, he is on his way here, so ….,"
"Kontas I think we have a problem," Madison said with her eyes open making Kontas aware of his environment.
They were not the only person there, it was like they were laying in wait for them.
"Madison, I knew that you were lying when you said you don't know how you bring able to take those sorcerers down, but I won't force you to tell me the truth because I know you will tell me when you want to".
Backing her, to be in eye contact with their enemies, Kontas whispered.
"I can't kill anyone for a reason, so can that thing that got into you before, get into you again because we need it?"
"I don't have powers or anything," Madison said.
She doesn't want to expose herself more, the fewer people who know the better it was for her. No one is even meant to know.
" I know, so you better do whatever it was you did back there…"
Before he could complete his sentence, the sorcerers attacked, all casting spells that Kontas was able to easily neutralize.
But it was different for Madison, she was a human and her body was fucking weak, and as a result, she couldn't avoid the spell that was sent to her knocking her down her feet with a loud thud.
She didn't know the spell that was thrown at her, but it was damn painful.
And when she coughed trying to clear her airway, what came out from her mouth was blood.
Damn her weak body. As she lay down flat on the ground, she saw the sorcerer that knocked her down roaming over her.
No matter how hard she tried to hide her fear, she couldn't. It was obvious on her face how scared she was at that moment.
Kontas nearly lost his mind when he saw Madison laying on the floor and one of the sorcerers roaming over her.
And he would have lost his mind if the sorcerer wasn't thrown off her body before he could do anything.
When he saw who the person that stopped him from losing his mind was, he breathed a sigh of relief.
"Am sorry for being late"Lydian said, showing his respect by bowing his head.
"It's ok, you were right on time". Rushing to Madison's side, he helped her to sit up.
"Are you ok?" he asked, worried.
"Yes, I'm fine, I was just weak for a few minutes. Thanks, Lydian" Madison said grinning up at him.
Helping her up to her feet, Kontas reviewed her to make sure she was fine. But he wasn't happy with the way she was and the injury on her leg.
When Madison noticed Kontas staring intensively at her leg where she got hurt due to her fall from the horse.
"Am ok, it is just a minor injury"
"Come on, we will treat it once we are back in the palace," he said, sweeping her off her feet and carrying her in a bridal style.
"You don't have to carry me, am fine" she protested.
"But am not fine, and am…."
"My prince"Lydian shouted making Kontas turn to face him, but it was already too late because before Madison could even know what was happening, she was falling with Kontas.
Madison awoke with a ringing sound in her ear. Everywhere was blurred, and she couldn't see anything except the shadows of people fighting.
When she tried to stand, she fell back down due to dizziness. 'What happened?' ' Where was Kontas?' those questions rushed through her head as she remembered what happened.
One of the sorcerers shoots Kontas with some spell, but Madison wondered what kind of spell took Kontas down almost immediately.
Mustering all the strength she could muster, Madison stood on shaking legs ignoring the protest her body was giving and the blood that was gushing out from her leg, hand, and face, she walked to where she saw an object laying.
When she got there, it wasn't an object that was lying there, but Kontas. He was just laying there like a log of wood, with his white royal rope soaked in blood.
Madison couldn't help the sob that came right out of her.
She couldn't believe her master, the Kontas she knew, was the person laying there.
Kneeling beside his body, Madison turn him so that he could lie on his back.
She screamed when she saw the wound that was aside his stomach. It wasn't just a normal wound, but a very deep one that she was even able to see inside his system.
"Kontas wake up, why are you not healing," Madison asked no one particularly.
This was driving her crazy, why wasn't he healing? She has seen so many gods heal themselves, so why isn't he healing?
"Wake up Kontas please, I promise not to be stubborn again, so please wake up" she sobbed.
Madison couldn't explain why she was crying, but she was in pain, and she allowed herself to cry and scream out her pain and frustration.
She could feel a burning fire like an orb right in her chest.
It was calling onto her and for the first time in many years, she responded to that call and pull, allowing that burning electrifying orb to surround her as she opened up the cage setting both the demon and the burning orb free.
Madison knew that after what she was about to do, things won't be the same again.
But she didn't care less, she wasn't going to let Kontas die, she wasn't going to let her greatest creation die right in front of her.
